Back in Malaysia, me, my mum, grandma and aunties all wore batik when we were cooking and preping for Chinese New Year or any other family celebration if you see my wearing batik instead of my usual chef jacket, it means Emily's duck time

Sudden lockdown while preparing ducks, changing dine in dinner only to takeaway lunch and dinner so that i can keep my staffs employed and serving front line workers...... I thought Easter this year is going to be tough for us but it turns out to be AWESOME! I had the most amazing Easter week with team Emily Yeoh in the restaurant Thank you Uncle John, Jimmy and West for the fun time in preping the ducks, thank you Tess, Seb and Ivan for the tremendous support during my darkest moment. 02.01.2022 Love Letters ( aka Duck Spring Rolls ) When i was a kid, I hated any form of vegetable. Anything with vege in it, even in spring rolls, I will refuse to eat them although I love fried food. Everyone loves my mum's Duck spring rolls and she made them whenever there is a family gathering or special occasion ( Chinese New Year especially). I remember my mum had to make pork mince spring rolls ( with no vege at all ) just for me because when she gave me the duck spring rolls, I... will take my time to pick out the bamboo shoots,cabbage and wood ear fungus, leave them on the plate and eat the pastry and duck meat only Until one day, my favourite Great Aunt visited us during Chinese New year eve. As usual, all the family members will gather together and make dumplings and spring rolls together. Instead of the traditional shape, the spring rolls were shaped in parcel. My great aunt gave me a piece of the parcel shape spring roll and said: This is a Love Letter from me because i love you Emily. Do you love me? Of course I said yes! And I did not hesitate to finish it. And guess what! I never pick out any vege from the spring rolls anymore as long as they are in the shape of parcel / letter / purse !
