24.01.2022 Motherhood. My biggest learning experience. Sometimes they my call me mum thinking I know the answers, but most of the time they know I’m just battling alongside them like the best of us. Either way I am beyond blessed to have these beautiful humans. Shout out to my gorgeous mother and so much love to those who are missing their mummas today.
23.01.2022 I truly believe that storytelling can help us better understand ourselves and each other. It was a privilege to represent @beyondblueofficial as a Guest Speaker on Sunday at High Tea Overlooking the Sea. An event raising vital funds to better support and achieve mental wellbeing in this country. These four gorgeous women are taking on @coastrek next month... Go you good things !!! Such a pleasure to meet you and thank you for providing a platform for the words of my heart #coastrek #beyondblue #storytelling #togetherishowweheal @ The Beach Hotel

19.01.2022 Seeing this gorgeous little note in the elevator in my building this morning was exactly what I needed ... On Friday at the checkout in the supermarket a woman literally opened her packet of toilet paper (the last one in the store) and shared it with me, having noticed I had (again) missed out. Amongst all the fear and chaos in this world that can cripple us, there IS still kindness and love. And that’s where we need to focus my little friends. That’s how we get through. More kindness. More love. More patience. With ourselves and each other. One little moment at a time. At a time that is certainly uncertain. Sending you a thousand virtual hugs bc virtual hugs are still very much a safe thing #lookforthehelpers #noticekindness

15.01.2022 Annual Social Detox starts...NOW. Wow. 2019. You have been one of the most challenging years of my life. I was so glad to see the backend of last year and then you arrived and I was back at it again rolling around in the whitewash struggling to find my feet, on guard for when the next sneaky wave would come a crashing. And far out they smashed me alright....But as much as it has been a year of personal challenge, it’s also been an epic one for personal growth - for whic...h I am extremely grateful. So before I tap out on the gram until the new year, amongst many a lesson, here are my top 3 truths of the year that was... 1. Sun and salt water can legit change your life. Nature really does contain amazing healing powers My best advice is: Don’t think about it. Move towards and rest a while. Please. 2. It is the incredible women I have in my life that I owe my current state of existence to. There is nothing more powerful than women supporting each other through thick and thin. And I honestly could not have arrived here without you treasures 3. Last but absolutely not least...When it comes to housework - Do it topless or pant-less when home alone. #doit Yeeeew. It’s heaps more fun and you’ll be so much more productive. Trust me. #justsendit ...And blow your own goddamn mind errry once in a while 2020 come at me. I’m ready. But until then ... Peace out lovers Take care of you Em xx #lovetoyouandyoursthisfestiveseason #goslowmofos #thanksnappersforthefilterfun @ Newcastle, Australia See more

13.01.2022 It is with the heart that one can see wisely. What is essential is invisible to the eye. On the weekend I completed my yoga teacher training certificate and what a MASSIVE journey it has been over the last 7 months. All inspired by this brave and beautiful woman, my late grandmother who was also a yoga teacher, and the absolute embodiment of unconditional love. Such a gift to be able to honour her now through sharing what yoga means to me with you all. #watchthisspace ... Heartfelt thanks to the amazing team @yogaforall_ for guiding me through their incredible Teacher Training course and to the wonderful women who walked right their beside me.
11.01.2022 My first post for this new decade... And for so many of us 2020 has opened with an enormous amount of grief. Bushfires, lost loved ones, tragedy and trauma. I don’t know about you ... But I can feel the anxiety and unease in the air. It could almost swallow me whole. The only way I know how to go on is to go gently. It’s a continual journey onwards from last year... Compassion and patience with myself first. Honouring my feelings and not shutting myself off to the possibility of change for the better. Remembering a beautiful moment and holding it dear in my heart. For me, it’s Bali dreaming. What’s yours ? ... Sending love to all with hurting hearts. #heartstotheskymyfriends #momentaryliving #theonlywayisthrough

06.01.2022 Ok. Incase you were wondering. Good to know. #fullstop
05.01.2022 Yo my little #anxietybuddies ... I know you know how exhausting it is to continuously feel like something is just not right. Whether it’s a whirring mind, upset stomach, inability to focus, consistent worry, feeling like you need to be doing more, or be anywhere but here, and so the list goes on and on... Yep it is damn tiring Having experienced anxiety personally (as a frenemy) for as long as I can remember, I’ve learned a few things....Namely this: The real you, the st...rong you, the worn-out you...The you that keeps on showing up even when showing up looks like lying down....That you really IS ok. You see, constant #anxiety tricks you into believing that you’re not ok, that you’re not enough, that you haven’t got this at all, which is what the whole condition is all about in the first place. Let’s face it, if you felt like you were #nailinglife you’d be chill and settled and not anxious We pretty much get punk’d by anxiety. So how is that we get to do the punk-ing pls ???... The most practical way I can now remind myself (moment by moment) that I’m ok, even when I don’t necessarily feel ok, is by staying super PRESENT. Being HERE right now and no where else. What helps me live in the present moment ? ... Really practical and simple things such as: Direct sunlight (#thesunismygod ), taking long slow deep breaths, music , trees , the ocean , just nature full stop really. To notice the little loving vibes around you, the things that help to reassure you - you are bigger than your anxiety...: You gotta GO SLOW. Last year I went on about #slowbeingthenewblack And guess what ? It remains to be this year too my little friends. Go slow. Breathe. And look for those little loving vibes. They show up when you’re here and now and willing to notice. @ Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia See more

And according to @yogaforall_ this one is called Romancing the Wall....Suffice to say the wall is gettin IT Bc ain’t no body else here in quarantine gettin any...That is for sure At least today I managed to find matching socks but man this little pose was a challenge #inversionsiniso #walllove #inversionsforall #getupsidedown We’ve teamed up with our current YTT crew who have all agreed to show you their own versions of inversions. We wanna normalise inversions and help you guys know that going upside down is accessible for everyone! Show us your best efforts amongst the chaos of home schooling + real life iso challenges ( the funnier the better) so we can bring a bit of humaness to the ‘gram. We’d love you to join in too! If you do, please tag @yogaforall_
05.01.2022 Sexting. An uncomfortable conversation to have with young people - but so SO important. I loved working alongside Snr Constable Will Kirby today (local Police School Liaison Officer) to bring this controversial issue into the spotlight. Pls see the #linkincomments for further information you may wish to share/read. I honestly do believe: When you know better, you do better. And sometimes it takes young people a bit of time to know, (um maybe taking time to know applies ...to most of us actually )... but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to equip them with as much information as possible when it comes to taking care of themselves and each other. Our youth are our future, and delivering proactive wellbeing education often means discomfort and challenging topics. Here’s the thing - It is through discomfort that we actually learn the most about ourselves...So bring it ON! Oh how grateful I am that I get to do this job #withsomesupercoolpeeps #workingnowfortomorrow #mywork #mypassion #protectingouryouth #iamabittiredaspermyeyes See more
