22.01.2022 I don't usually post anything political to my page. Today I'm sharing this petition because I see firsthand how important a regular exercise routine is to SO many people. Physical activity is not just about getting fit and strong, for many of our clients it's about improving their mental wellbeing. It's their way of relieving symptoms of depression or anxiety. It impacts significantly on their happiness, confidence & ability to put things into perspective. It enables them to ...focus positively on themselves. It gives them energy to tackle their day, and it's a much needed hour of socialising and connecting. Exercise for many people is medicine. It helps them feel better. I would like to see gyms re-open, not just because I own a gym and 6 months of closure sees us financially hurting, but because in times of financial hardship, isolation, uncertainty, we need now more than ever to be able to exercise. I'm willing to increase cleaning & sanitisation, have strict hygiene practices in place, social distance, cap classes, trace clients, wear masks, improve fresh air flow, whatever it takes to minimise risk and enable us to do what we love most... help people feel better.

13.01.2022 TAKEN A LITTLE BREAK FROM TRAINING THROUGH ISO? If you took a break from training when Melbourne gyms were closed back in March, it's very likely your 6 week planned break has turned into a 6 month "unplanned" break! In this time (particularly with all the additional life stressors), most people will have de-conditioned, lost strength, fitness & perhaps your clothes are feeling a little less comfortable? If you've been hitting your recommended minimum 150mins moderate in...tensity (or 75mins vigorous intensity) activity/week on your own, then kudos to you! Motivating yourself & maintaining accountability across such a long period of time is extremely challenging. As a PT, even I rely on my colleagues to keep me on track, hit the required intensity level and maintain consistency. If isolation has not been kind to your health, then I'm suggesting you take action and turn it around. It's going to be a while still before the gym doors re-open, I'm strongly encouraging you DON'T wait until then to do something about it! Instead, join us online for GYM PRE-SEASON! The time to bump your health and wellness up the priority list, in order to "feel better' physically & mentally is NOW! 11.01.2022 WOW WOW WOW! Across the weekend we wrapped up our 5 Week Post Iso Challenge! Challenges around this time of year are tough, but throw in the fact that we haven't caught up with friends and family for months, this year it was next level "challenging"! Regardless, our overall results were nothing short of AH-mazing! We pride ourselves in encouraging healthy habits which can be incorporated into our client's lifestyles for the long term, not just a few weeks only to blow... out again once our challenges are complete. We don't sell magic pills or gimmicky products,... our results are based on good old fashioned hard work! Across the past 5 week's our challengers have stepped their training up another level, made sensible food choices (simply cutting out the crap), & guided through a holistic approach encouraging quality sleep, good consistent hydration & reducing everyday stress. This approach clearly works, and here's the impressive stats to prove it! Our 27 challengers achieved the following... total fat mass dropped 46.5kg (that's not weight loss, that's "FAT loss"!) 196.4cm circumference lost We can't be with our clients 24/7 across a challenge to slap bad food out of your hand or ensure they are sleeping soundly each night (that would be creepy)! It's really up to the individual's determination, preparation, mindset & effort that converts to significant results. A few standout results worthy of a special mention include Monique Chalk, Lauren Felmingham, Erin Bromley, Kate Grant & Lauren Bailey-Smith who had the most significant fat loss. 05.01.2022 Nearly 4 years ago this incredible woman came into my life as a friend and a client. She has been through unimaginable tragedy and suffers on a daily basis from anxiety & depression. I have learnt so much from her. She has helped me recognise how I can make someone’s dark day, just a little brighter. I know without words after a few minutes of her walking through the gym doors if it’s a day for chatting while we train, or if she’s made it here just to take her exercise m...edicine. On these days we get through what we can... & I am grateful she’s been able to get to me. If I can make a small improvement on her day then I am happy. This remarkable woman is just one example. Every day I train people who are taking the initiative to exercise in order to boost their mood, energy & mental state. Thank you for allowing me to share your story Maz. I am so proud of you... on so many levels. 1 in 6 Australians currently experience anxiety, depression or both. Every day in Australia 9 people take their own lives.
