23.01.2022 On Wednesday my parents rescued an abandoned pup, Milo. today I took some gear over to get a couple of photo of Milo and my youngest came to help as puppy wrangler. 23.01.2022 They say every drop of rain on your wedding day is a drop of happiness in your life together, well all I can say is Jess and Candice have got happiness coming to them in spades! 21.01.2022 I was out yesterday capturing the Thank You Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Day Fundraiser for the Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Inc. It was a lovely afternoon and just as I was leaving I approached two of the volunteers to see if one would have a spin on the bull for a photo. They were both quick to agree that the other would be happy to but rank had it in the end and the Lieutenant managed to convince his friend that the Captain really should be the one to do it. He was such a good sport, especially after his good mate approached the guy in charge of the speed of the bull and said after I got the photo could he crank it and see how long he could last. Lets just say I was grateful for a fast shutter speed :)

21.01.2022 Ahhh so excited to get a sneak peak today. Kelly and I spent the afternoon on a tour of the new Museum Boola Bardip ahead of a the fundraising gala event Night at the Museum tomorrow night which we’re photographing for the Foundation for the WA Museum So excited!

20.01.2022 After a LONG couple of days I made my husband and kids go for a 'short' bush walk near our house, I REALLY wanted to see if I could get a family of roos on the ridge. I had intended a short stroll on the flat. Instead it was nearly 2 hours and we hiked up huge rocky hills. There wasn't a roo to be found, and then all of a sudden we were surrounded by them!

19.01.2022 Behind the scenes! (Excuse the dragged through a hedge backwards look, Id got caught in the rain!) Theres more to photography than pointing a camera. This morning my daughters and I raced out to pick up this rocking horse for this afternoons family/maternity shoot. Mother Nature decided that the shoot should be postponed so I decided that the rocking horse needed a new lease on life (apparently Im not the first to decide that, my eldest daughter started sanding and got t...hrough gold, white, red, blue and black layers of paint!) 14.01.2022 A couple of sneak peaks from today's family session. After close examination of the hourly weather forecast we brought the shoot forward by a couple of hours to try and avoid the storm and not only did we not get wet, it was glorious. Such a wonderful way to spend the morning with these beautiful people

13.01.2022 BTS - I took my camera on our exercise outing yesterday. I said put your shoes on, were going for a bush walk so I can see if I can get some photos of the roos on the ridge, they should be coming out soon I admit I didnt SPECIFY walking shoes, it wasnt until we were at the bush that I noticed what my youngest was wearing her shiny white high heels! What you cant see in this photo is the 70 degree incline we had just climbed!

13.01.2022 I was out this morning with Kelly from @7to1photography photographing Sharon Eagons mural for an AR project in conjunction with @cityofarmadalewa Many (many) years ago now when I was going into yr 11 we had to get the coordinators to sign off on our subject selection. I remember walking down to the manual arts block and my English Lit teacher was there so he just automatically reached out for my papers and I said I wasnt there to see him I was there to see the manual arts ...teacher, Chris Brehaut, who laughed when my Lit teacher said what are YOU doing down HERE? Chris responded tech drawing. I was the only girl in yr 11 tech drawing and one of 2 in year 12 and we were the first class to do VET during high school and come out with 2 certificates in engineering drawing. Well it was 22ish years but I finally used those skills and its the first time Ive had a set square in my hands for 22ish years but boy did we have fun today! (Incidentally one of the things I most clearly remember about Chris, that I share with most of my wedding couples, I remember him saying he could tell how close his wedding was getting because the time to wedding was inversely proportionate to their bank balance ) Thanks Kelly for the photo and for the laughs! 09.01.2022 How gorgeous are these children?! A sneak peak from yesterday’s photo shoot. 3 young children, you never quite know how a shoot is going to go! These kids were amazing! I’d say the older 2 took direction well but they OWNED the camera! And who doesn’t think a 6 month old is adorable. I always tell families that how many photos they get is totally dependent on how the kids are going. If they are happy and chilled then we get lots of photos, if they are cranky then I won’t push them. This needs to be fun for everyone. Let’s just say I’ve got a lot of editing as we got so many photos of this extended family! 08.01.2022 I am not a landscape photographer, I really enjoy heading out and taking photos of landscapes but I often don't even get to the point of editing them. Sugarloaf Rock has been on my bucket list for a few years so when I was down in Metricup capturing a wedding with Kelly we were too close not to pop over and check it out. I take my hat off to photographers who head down there in terrible weather, it was hard enough in fair weather!

06.01.2022 A photo from a recent carols by candle/torch light with City of Armadale that I captured with 7 to 1 Photography, it was a very different event with out the parade and with it being a ticketed event, but with those differences it was a beautiful night with a great atmosphere and hats off to City of Armadale for making it work with the restrictions. 01.01.2022 Thanks 7 to 1 Photography with Kelly Pilgrim-Byrne for this photo of me at a recent event proving how useful it is to have 2 photographers at an event so we can capture different perspectives, angles and details. Kelly and I photographed the Women in Technology, Western Australia (WITWA) Branding workshop on Wednesday evening at the Microsoft Building in Perth. A fantastic event that I really enjoyed listening to as well as shooting. I think I'm going to have to work on my shooting face - I'll get wrinkles if I keep scrunching my face up like that.
