25.01.2022 Naturopathic appointments are now available on Wednesdays from 10am-8pm, starting on 2nd March. Book now! Looking forward to working with you on your path to health.

24.01.2022 On paper my kids are eating just soup and toast. In reality it's homegrown pumpkin soup made with fresh chicken bone broth and lots of garlic, ginger and turmeric. The bread is wholegrain sourdough covered in ghee. Children's health and immunity hinges on their nutrient intake, particularly the fat soluble vitamins A, D and E. Traditionally made bone broths and ghee are both fantastic sources of these.

24.01.2022 This beautiful feedback is my most favourite aspect of being a naturopath. Supporting families, through all levels of their health and life stages, makes me feel so privileged. To meet a couple before they conceive, support new mothers when they're struggling, see your kids when they're sick, listen when there's loss, and celebrate when there's success. That's why I do it.

23.01.2022 How do I know I've joined the perfect bunch of health practitioners at take2health? They value healthy, whole, local and sustainable food so much there's even a market stall in the clinic! Just for the kids to enjoy!

22.01.2022 Tamarillo! In season now. This lovely bundle was home grown and gifted to me by a very generous client. They taste sour and sweet and smell a little like papaya to me. We eat the inside flesh with a teaspoon, but the whole fruit is actually edible. They're a great source of antioxidants, fibre and the mineral potassium. Give them a go!

22.01.2022 What is the most common complaint adults seek my help for? Stress and it's many manifestations. It makes my day when they come back and say how much more balanced they're feeling.

21.01.2022 We're having homegrown heirloom zucchini and basil soup for lunch! 2 medium zucchini 1 brown onion 2 potatoes... 1 handful of fresh basil 3 cloves garlic 2 cups filtered water 1tsp herbamare (herb sea salt) Roughly chop everything and combine in a pot. Boil until veggies are all soft. Blend and serve.

21.01.2022 Most of you will know I haven't been working due to significant ill health. I'm back in the clinic this coming Saturday though, and have 2x consultations still available. Book online or call the clinic if you'd like one. https://www.emmacavalier.com.au/book-now/

19.01.2022 My new office at take2health is just the sanctuary I dreamed of. My passion is using food and plants as remedies. Sharing that in Melbourne's west is going to be fabulous!

19.01.2022 Simple Cough and Throat Syrup 1 onion sliced 1/2 cup raw honey 1 tbs apple cider vinegar... Pour the honey and apple cider vinegar over the onion in a bowl and allow to sit for about an hour. The juice from the onion seeps in and forms a very soothing syrup for sore throats and scratchy coughs. Helps to naturally fight infections too. Take 1 tsp of syrup as often as needed. Safe for kids over 1 year old.

17.01.2022 Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Here's my love putting up the shelving in my new office on the Australia Day public holiday. Pretty sure he wished he was by a river somewhere, but he helped me out all day! What a champion. That's love!

14.01.2022 Shiitake mushroom miso soup. Shiitake is one of the most powerful foods for building and supporting immunity. Added to chicken broth, chopped veggies, lots of fresh garlic, organic brown rice miso paste and some buckwheat noodles and there you have it ~ Your food can be your medicine!

12.01.2022 Very funny morning yesterday with my little one modelling the fun children's areas at my gorgeous work take2health. We're getting a new clinic website (yay!) and Alison Manns Photography was working her magic. FUN.

11.01.2022 Feeling like a warm herbal foot soak while we chat about your health and wellbeing? Well you CAN! Herbal foot baths are used for relaxation, promoting sleep, calming the nerves and increasing circulation. They are included in all new patient naturopathic appointments. Book yours here. https://www.emmacavalier.com.au/book-now/

08.01.2022 My gorgeous friend Alison Manns Photography took all the photos for my website. She's just posted this little blog post about ME talking about motherhood and my work. Check it out. http://www.alisonmanns.com.au//village-for-mums-interview-

08.01.2022 A pinch of saffron threads soaking in boiling water to extract their magic. This could be used as natural food dye, flavouring a meal or a home remedy. Aren't plants just so perfect! I made this stunning golden glow into 'Everyday lentil soup with saffron yoghurt' recipe by @libertybrowne, and it was so warming and autumnal.

08.01.2022 Figs, avocados or mulberries in the living room! Imagine that!

05.01.2022 The traditional practice of herbal and naturopathic medicine is as much an art as it is a science. In Australia the formal training at universities and colleges, often places far greater time and emphasis on the science. This means the future of traditional medicine practice is changing. I am proud to offer professional mentoring to help support new practitioners in developing the subtle skills of becoming a balanced practitioner. This means that sometimes I have other practitioners observing me in the clinic. It is of course completely up to the client if they would feel comfortable with another practitioner in the office. Please know that if you agree, you are helping to strengthen the future of herbal medicine practice in Australia. We don't want to lose all those skills which have been apprenticed for centuries!

02.01.2022 When visiting friends in the Goulburn Valley this weekend, I came across quite a bit of this medicinal herb (weed). White horehound (Marrubium vulgare) is a traditional remedy for cough and phlegm. It can be made into a tea with boiling water poured over the leaves (fresh or dried), or prepared into a syrup with sugar or honey. It combines perfectly with rosemary, sage, thyme or hyssop for cough, sore throats and colds.
