BANANA PALM WITH BUTTERFLIES Art Nouveau inspired, this contemporary artwork features famed Banana Palm design, created by Dorothy Draper in 1937. Brazilliance was created initially for the Arrowhead Springs Hotel in California, re-designed in 1942 for the Beverly Hills Hotel and continues to inspire artworks and decor to this current day. Pushing her technique further, these artworks took up to 12 hours to create on the human form, the mixture of fine detail and the straight tiles within them, prove this collection, truly masterful. In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang (also yin-yang or yin yang, ynyng "darkbright") describe how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Yin and Yang, Emmas newest works feature the delicate positioning of her muse as porcelain busts interacting within her painterly backgrounds, exploring the intriguing beauty of her oriental neighbours. Motifs and butterflies cluster together in a pattern collision of calmness and beauty that Emma is well-known for.
