I saw a post recently, someone requested a two tier cake, stated their flavour, their price (it would of covered the cost) so the lucky dumb arse that put their hand up to do it would of been working for FREE. In exchange they would off got Exposure for doing it so cheap (Im yet to see the page promote the caker who did it) so great exposure. The thing that pissed me off the most was the amount of cakers that wrote on their "oh yes very interested, happy to help ou...t, Ive sent you a message". Give me fucken strength people, just because they have over 50,000 followers doesnt equal business for you. All your doing is undervaluing an industry that is all ready undervalued and allowing people to practice their selfish right to scab shit for free. Well done on keeping our industry from advancing. 19.01.2022 There's an art to applying florals on a cake, it's a fine line between them looking natural or looking shite Florals can take any where between 1 hour to 4 hours depending on the size of the cake as every individual flower is taped and wired so it's food safe. I always try to grow my own produce, I have about 150 rose bushes and my amaranth grows like a weed Fresh is best and it's very hard to get that with the imported flowers. It's a popular trend to combine both fresh,paper and preserved blooms. So definitely think outside the square when it comes to your blooms and look at your cake makers eye for detail because no one wants a cake looking like

11.01.2022 Those blooms I had such a hard time with florals for this cake, half of my order didn't come in, so then I went between 3 wholesalers looking for replacements and even hit up the lovely Jess from Lotte and Aud Eventually I had what I was happy with. I'm super fussy with flowers if they look bruised and in poor condition I won't buy them, I can't spend all those hours on a cake and then top it off with some shit flowers. So I always try my best but sometimes things are out of my control when it comes to flowers such as availability, quality and if they get stuck at the airport in Dubai like next weeks order. When I can't control the situation I improvise, us cakers are good at that
