25.01.2022 grounding This year I've been making sure to get outside more often and dig my toes in the grass or the sand, and get the sun on my face, even if it's just in a short break from work.
25.01.2022 I wrote this in jest and then it struck me as so very apt so I kept it! My notebook shows jottings about "structure" and "play" going back a few years now... I'm wont to lean toward structure/rhythm/routine more easily. Learning to balance this out with play has been life-giving, joy-filled, and not risky like I’d first assumed

21.01.2022 something I wrote a few months ago; an ongoing practise of release.
17.01.2022 Something I've been working on behind the scenes is a little guide to help you excavate the gold that's right there in your own life, untapped, and untangle the bits that get in the way. A golden moment to help you: centre yourself + create space for creativity put tech in it's place... learn your own rhythms I'd love to hear from you in my DMs if you think this is something that would pique your interest See more

13.01.2022 "I realised this week that the proverbial construction of a nest basket for myself might be the very thing I need in the second half of 2020. If ever there was a year where we each need an oddly placed nest with a beautiful view, it would be now." Sign up for the fortnightly Bowerbird newsletter here: https://emmajmarsh.com/bowerbird

08.01.2022 The everyday can be a difficult thing to name holy, sacred, set apart. Small moments slowed with intention help to bring me back to the moment I'm in. From the outside the work of the everyday looks banal (though the homebody in me embraces it). ... Tasks I'm averse to help me in this practise: folding laundry, tidying a room, hanging out washing. Just the right amount of activity blended with room for my mind to pause and *be*. See more
06.01.2022 The letting go is also what allows the creativity to flow. In my head it looks like I'm getting out of the way. Books like The Artist's Way and The War of Art have grown my ability to both do the work (insert your own creative practise here) and also let go. It's a constant dance, no doubt about it.
06.01.2022 I came across these words scrawled in my journal, a morning to-do list of sorts from a few months ago. So this week I’ve returned to starting the day with this kind of list in mind more focus on simply being, alongside the necessary doing, filling my cup.

04.01.2022 "Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to ... the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace."
