25.01.2022 So excited for this show. You may have been lucky to catch a glimpse of the show in a short series on ABC iview last year. It did so well ABC TV + iview commissioned a full series, and it will hit screens in a few weeks time. It's been a pleasure to watch Tom's idea journey from a dream to reality. Congrats to all those who worked on @OutbackRinger. Non stop hectic action. Territory tough.
25.01.2022 The local screen sector employs around 25,000 Australians, and contributes more than $3bn to the economy annually... at least 60 productions forced to shut down... ... thanks to the Guardian for covering the impact coronavirus has had on he industry. https://www.theguardian.com//well-see-bankruptcies-how-cor
24.01.2022 Being a hands-on producer of smaller, nimble productions has its benefits. In the Territory, it often results in an end of shoot collection of sunscreen, mosquito repellent, hydralyte and hand sanitiser. For one shoot where we were hanging out with crocs in swamps and muddy rivers, we needed hospital-grade hand sanitiser ... coronavirus aint got a hope in hell with this stuff! #protection #pandemic #covid2019 #coronavirus
24.01.2022 Some fantastic research from Monash University and other unis in collaboration with Menzies School of Health Research and Arnhem Land Progress Association. 18.01.2022 My friend Chris Kamen has a campaign running through Pozible to get his film Dark Water up and running. I just paid to get a copy in digital format, all of which goes toward their production costs. Good luck team! I hope you reach your goal.
17.01.2022 Watched #WrinklestheClown last night. It reminded me of how as kids wed tell ghost stories to scare ourselves - there was a genuine fascination with otherworldly beings and stories. Wrinkles plays into it. The man behind the mask makes genius moves to refresh an old myth. Loved this doco and all it tells us about myths and our need for story to make sense of the world.
16.01.2022 Dont sleep on this fellow screenwriters!

14.01.2022 Kriv Stenders was a breath of fresh air in todays chat with Screen Producers Australia. While he recognised the challenges coronavirus has brought to the screen industry - and acknowledged the difficulties and uncertainty it has brought, he also conveyed a genuine desire to jump to the challenge of making films under new regimes. His choice to looks at ways it could make creativity blossum was welcome. As he said - filmmakers work and get creative within restricted parameters all the time. It was a refreshing and inspiring perspective to hear today. Great chat.

09.01.2022 Thanks to the wonderful Clothesline Content team who put me in the presence of greatness for their special #internationalwomensday post. Ive just returned from AIDC - Australian International Documentary Conference where it was a privilege to speak with, listen to and do business with an inspirational group of women from across the factual industry - commissioning editors of major broadcasters and distributors, those at screen agencies and the many multi-talented producers, directors and writers. Women at every level of the business. Hats off to all the women of the world, particularly to those working in the creative arts, in storytelling and media ... helping to diversify voices and perspectives. Happy International Womens Day #iwd2020 #internationalwomensday
09.01.2022 Ive been working with Indigenous rangers and landowner groups for many years - first as a journalist, and later as a filmmaker and media specialist supporting rangers to tell stories about their work - from Jawoyn Association to Mimal Land Management, Warddeken Land Management , the Arafura Swamp Rangers and the Njanjma Rangers One of the most significant changes Ive seen during this time is the reintroduction of indigenous fire management and the savanna fire method - the... opportunity to earn carbon credits by reducing wildfires through controlled, patchy burning. The immense environmental, cultural and social benefits it has brought is one of the nations great success stories. Its creating revolutionary change in the remotest parts of the nation. It was a pleasure to make this film many years ago, and this week I had the privilege of being asked to work with Indigenous Carbon Industry Network and Charles Darwin University to support story telling around the Savanna Fire Forum - a forum that brought together more than 320 indigenous rangers and landowners, researchers and scientists, policy makers and thinkers working in Australias multi-million dollar indigenous carbon industry. It was a fantastic two days meeting new people from across Australia, hearing about new, cutting-edge research, the changing carbon economy and how indigenous cultural knowledge about fire and land management is bringing new hope in the global #climatecrisis.

04.01.2022 Its been a busy time recently, as the Weave Films team worked day and night alongside the Northern Land Council, the Aboriginal Interpreter Service, local cast - including the Territorys own Rob Collins - to produce, write and direct this important series of films about the #Coronavirus pandemic - for Aboriginal communities in local languages.
