25.01.2022 PJ’s & Breakfast at Kinder To celebrate the end of Term 2, the children in Red, Green and Blue Group have enjoyed making a gourmet breakfast and wearing their snuggly pajamas to kinder! On the menu we had: bacon and eggs, pancakes, toast, cereal, fruit and yogurt, and juice. This was a wonderful way to practise independence and self help skills! ... 23.01.2022 Happy Friday! Today is the official end of Term 1 and while it has been a crazy few weeks, we need to remember how far the children have come since they first walked through the kinder doors back in January. We will keep you posted about the commencement of Term 2, but please stay tuned for Bestchance updates via email and sms. 21.01.2022 This beautiful sensory table was set up for the children to explore. They ground up spices, cut up herbs, mixed and stirred the many aromatic plants and discovered how their senses work in a fun and interactive way!

21.01.2022 Today Green Group went on a leaf hunt. We found many different colours, we even went into the secret garden behind the church. We found a massive palm leaf too that was taller than Janine. We then sorted our leaves into their colour grouping and had a go at drawing a leaf. You might like to do this at home too or try a leaf rubbing.

We have been learning all about the Human Body and this has involved lots of discussions about Healthy Eating. Oakleigh Police Station, Monash Medical Centre, Oakleigh Fire Station and also some of our local aged care facilities! ... Our children who are learning at home can also drop off a letter to our letter box at the front gate of kinder! We welcome letters from all our kinder children. 16.01.2022 A rainy day means an indoor obstacle course! The children navigated their way through ladders, hurdles, stepping stones and balance boards. Along the way they practised turn taking, gross motor skills, problem solving, numeracy and spatial awareness. We pumped up the music and watched them engage with such joy and enthusiasm! ... This well loved book My Cat likes to hide in Boxes explores the concept of rhyme and repetition while creating an awareness of different countries around our world. These simple props and visual prompts encourage language and story telling.

13.01.2022 Story Time Today we had some visitors from one of our local primary schools. Grade 5 and 6 students from Christ Our Holy Redeemer in East Oakleigh read picture story books to the children under the beautiful canopy of trees in our playground. This was a highlight of our day and we cant wait for them to return next term. Thanks for helping us engage with our local community COHR Primary School

It has been great to see our kinder friends return with such resilience, confidence and enthusiasm This week we have been exploring Space in particular space craft and the solar system! This interest was sparked by a dark tunnel made underneath one of our tables... It looks like Space exclaimed one of the children!
