22.01.2022 Earrings are such a great way to add some interest, colour and pizzazz to your outfit - plus it doesn't cost much! The best styles will compliment the shape of your face and the length and width of your neck, as well as what you are wearing. Earring shape can range from round to square, triangle to diamond, drops to chandelier... there's too many to name! Add length, scale, your hairstyle and garment neckline.... my god, let me give you some tips!... Round faces are best with earrings that lengthen the face such as drops and hoops. Long faces are best with shapes such as short drops, round and oval. Face shapes that have a strong jawline, such as rectangle and triangle, are best to wear softly rounded styles and those that do not add width at the jawline. 16.01.2022 No matter your size, age or body, you have shape and you should show it! Wearing big, loose, shapeless pieces does nothing for you. It is much more flattering, feminine and youthful to add shape to your proportions. You don't need to buy new pieces though - you can add shape through small tweaks to your outfit - a small tuck here, knot there, or with the addition of accessories or other garments.... 15.01.2022 Flat shoes - a godsend! They are just so darn comfortable... and you can walk faster! Don't let being a shorty put you off wearing flats - work some style magic to work them to your advantage: Keep dress/skirt hems above the knee... Team with slim, above ankle pants Avoid styles with ankle straps Opt for tapered or point toes Go nude. Nude shoe that is! Skin colored flats visually elongate legs Avoid chunky straps and overt detailing Ensure your flats are not your main outfit focal point - draw the eye away with some colour, detailing or an accessory elswhere. If you are planning to treat yourself with a few clothing purchases I want you to be selective! Ask yourself:... Does this item reflect my style personality? Is it in a colour that looks fabulous on me? Is this item flattering my (already fabulous) figure? Does it go with 3-5 items in my wardrobe?! If you can that list off then you can be confident you are making a wise purchase - I mean, you are practically SAVING money If you can't answer those questions then treat yourself to a style session with me - it's an investment in yourself! But if the colour yellow fills you with dread (yellow is so hard to wear I hear you say) then fear not, I have some tips for you for choosing the most flattering yellow:... Wear YOUR best version of yellow - temperature, shade, and intensity - to make that yellow work its magic on you. If you are a muted colour direction, yellow is best worn in a garment made from natural fibers with a matte surface (i.e. COOL muted, LIGHT muted, SOFT cool, SOFT warm, DARK warm, and WARM muted). 03.01.2022 Back in the day when colour analysis first became a global phenomena, freckles were deemed to be warm and only found on people with warm colouring. But alas! This is far from the truth and just like this woman, freckles can be seen on those who are of Cool colouring. Freckles can be in fact any colour from a deep umber to almost a rose brown.... So if you have freckles, don't assume warm colours are automatically for you! You may be surprised at what your best colour palette is.
