18.01.2022 Move over Lady Whistledown, I’ve got this week's hot gossip... Friends say hi to Showit’s newest (Aussie) Design Partner! Yup, this popcorn-loving website designer has just been given the nod of approval by the folks over at Showit and I am beyond grateful, incredibly humbled, and super freakin excited.... I’ve been a web designer for about 10 years (I’m very old and losing track of time) and started working with Showit just over 2 years ago and honestly, my best work has come from the creative freedom the platform allows me. So what exactly does being a Design Partner mean? Well for you, as a client and customer, you can be assured that my websites have been created to meet Showit’s design standards (there was a very official course to pass and a team of people with matching t-shirts and hats who meticulously went over all of my work), my designs were given ‘you’re so pretty’ status and I’ve been proven to provide a great client experience. Very serious stuff indeed. For me, the news has boosted my confidence and encouraged me to keep pushing design boundaries, made all the long workdays (and weekends) worth it, and given me permission to increase my chocolate consumption (cause, proudly saying aloud ‘I deserve it’ just before you snatch your fourth piece for the day makes it a-ok guys). Wanna know more about Showit? Pop into my DMs and I’ll tell you why I love it and if it’s the right website builder for you and your business. ps. If you don’t know who Lady Whistledown is, please go and binge-watch Bridgerton. You’re welcome. See more

13.01.2022 [sound on] Reader BewareYou're in for a Scare! Wanna know what gives me goosebumps? Seeing a 'coming soon' page that's been up since 2018 because the business is just too afraid to launch. Hands up if these common fears (and misconceptions) are holding you back from building your high-converting website:... I can’t afford a nice website - Ah, the tale of the expensive website. Full of shocking add-ons and ghastly developer fees, leaving you petrified of a site that *gasp* might break the bank. I’m not techy enough - Those (not so real) digital monsters that plague your dreams of a brilliant online home, conjured up by bad website builders or spooky software, and keeping you awake at night. I don’t need a website yet, I’ve got Instagram - You find the basement door ajar after hearing a strange noise, you walk down into the dark, unprepared and without telling anyone where you’re going.eek! I’m not great at design - Spooked by beautiful brands and endless Pinterest boards, you lurk in the shadows of other entrepreneurs because you’re frightened your site won’t fit in. I can’t launch my website until it’s perfect - Your ‘coming soon’ page sits collecting dust, haunted by perfectionism and mummified in a tomb of old dreams. Meanwhile, your competitors have scooped up all your customers. The main cause of these website worries you ask? The Goblin of Great Overwhelm a ravenous, horrible creature that feeds on the flesh of creatives and creators and prevents them from building a profitable and purposeful DIY website. Wanna be the hero your website needs and finally kick those fears to the curb? Join me for my FREE five-day challenge, the battle begins Monday 23 November. https://emmatroy.com.au/diy-website-journey See more

12.01.2022 Happy Friday friends! And a warm welcome to all of my new followers. Yay thanks for stopping by! Wondering who this redhead is? Hi, I’m Emma your visual storyteller here to help you create a brand, website and visuals that illustrate your story and illuminate your value. Fun facts about your brand and web design bestie:... I’m a light to moderate (okay, okay, extreme) popcorn addict. I dream of writing and illustrating a children’s book. As a kiddo I was OBSESSED with the Goosebumps books and I recently discovered a box of them in my childhood room. Have I re-read any? Maybe! I have a soft spot for animals and I live on a little farm with my fiancé and our menagerie. Here I am with Duke, my design sidekick! He joins me on my farm adventures (like feeding Fudge the cow) and he's obsessed with carrots! Between our 4 horses and this floppy-eared Weimaraner, we go through A LOT of carrots! Your turn, what's a fun fact about you? Pic by the lovely @jesscutler__ See more

10.01.2022 Wanna know how I weave brilliance into brands through visual storytelling? By using creative cues that spark imagination and piece together to tell one epic tale. YOUR story. Meet Finding Alice. My latest adventurer. Founder and fellow creative Bonnie came to me wanting a new visual identity for her handmade clothing business. Her vision wasn't clear but she knew she needed something that told the story of Alice, of all adventurous girls, and of the mums... who were once like Alice but may have lost their way. @finding_alice_clothing was made for Wildflowers. The dreamers, the explorers, the little ladies who believe they can do and be anything in the whole wide world. And so, I created a brand that captured the story of Alice and her fellow Wildflowers. The custom typography represents adventure and journey. The letters wind and move while the outer lines portray the energy of Alice. The custom illustration represents bravery as she stands in front of her path ahead. The arch embodies strength and while her road ahead isn't straight, the clouds part to reveal the light of the sun to lead the way. Alice holds a sunflower, a wildflower which is a symbol of unwavering faith. It acts as her compass, opening to the sun and giving her the confidence to take the journey since it will always point her to the brightest path no matter what. Alice wears her pretty dress with a bow in her hair but she's prepared to get dirty with her gumboots on. From bottom to top, the letters act as a path leading to the window of possibilities. A nudge to the mums so that they may be encouraged to find their way back to their own inner 'Alice'. Scroll through to explore the Finding Alice brand. What's the story behind your brand? I'd l'd love to know! See more

09.01.2022 Template Transfiguration: The *magical* process of changing a Showit website template into your very own online home. Last year I helped Megan from @yourheartbreakcoach transform my Penelope template into a new website perfect for her breakup and divorce coach business. All it took was a little wand-waving and website weaving to turn the fun, fierce, and playful Penny into a warm, gentle and elegant site for Megan. Check out the before and after! The... spell included custom icons, video, animation, and a stellar sales page. In Megan’s words: Emma is a RARE UNICORN. She knows exactly what it takes to make a website sing. If I could rate higher than five stars, I would! Wondering if a template is right for you? Here are some tips for a successful Template Transfiguration: First things first, create your branding BEFORE you start editing the template. Wanna change the template fonts, colours, and images? No worries! Set your foundations before you begin building your website. And for those asking, yep you can change #allthethings with a drag and drop, click and create (take that Squarespace!). Begin your build at the HOMEPAGE. Not sure where to start once you upload your branding? Start at the beginning! Your Homepage is the gateway to the rest of your site so implement as much content as you can, fine-tune it so you can copy and paste formatted sections to new pages to keep your design time down. #clever Got questions about my high-converting Showit templates or want to take one for a spin? 05.01.2022 Wanna know what tickles my home-grown farm girl pickles? It's been a minute since I posted here so I'm jumping in with five of my fave things: My menagerie... I love animals. ADORE them. So being surrounded by furry friends makes me oh so happy. I wish I could take in every stray I see on Facebook but instead, I donate regularly to shelters and encourage people to rescue if they can. Showit web design Humble brag: I’m Australia’s only Official Showit Design Partner. Yep, it deserves caps, because it’s a little bit of a big deal (and I’m really bloody proud of it). Showit is THE go-to platform for go-getting service entrepreneurs and digital businesses. And They call me ‘pardner’ and tip their hats to me. Figuratively. Possibly literally, too. They’re pretty cool like that. Conversions. A lotta ‘em. ‘Conversions’ is a fancy word for what happens when your website and branding turn those bored browsers into loyal, wallet-waving leads. It’s an art. It’s a science. It’s instinct. It’s my strategy and I'm kinda obsessed. Popcorn. Nom’ng it, mainly. I’ll even share, too (if I’m asked nicely and I’ve got a spare packet in the pantry). Hot husband. Not yours. Just mine. I've been married to a horse-whispering, bee-nurturing, ship-sailing legend named Caleb for just over 5 months and married life is flippin' fantastic. Comment below your fave thing right meow! See more
