25.01.2022 Some quotes that resonate with me... maybe you too...

23.01.2022 In finishing up with the Xmas celebrations at the seniors club I set up a display showcasing some of the work created and explored during this year, 2018! I managed to capture some of the display which looks really lovely and some family of the clients attended a Xmas morning tea. I had the opportunity to explain more about Art Therapy and how I work with the clients at the club. I handed out an information sheet about my work and the benefits to the clients with dementia. We... have been reminiscing and working on Xmas projects these last two weeks, creating and exploring symbols of the Xmas season in various materials and methods which has been so enjoyable for all. The bonus for me is to see the clients creating and engaging in the activities/interventions and discovering personal insights . It is all about self expression and not the end product as much. The staff are great to work with and are soooooo good to me. What a great close to the year there! I'm really looking forward to the New Year projects! See more

21.01.2022 With the completion of Dementia Action Week Australia, I'm posting a few highlights in recognition of an important area in my life. I have provided allied health services in my career to the elderly and with dementia. I also assisted caring for a mother-in-law who had dementia and passed away last year. I'm grateful for the learning journey that prepares me in helping others. I am passionate in working with people with dementia and have joy in seeing them engage in the art t...herapy program I offer! Often they will be engaged in painting but other types of art making can be used for the participant's interests. 1) Below is a link to a brief video of an inspiring lady who was diagnosed with dementia and tells how taking up being a round horses has helped her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_-NRLTsL6w#action=share 2) And Australian Aging Agenda has a useful article ''Get physical to fight dementia" https://www.australianageingagenda.com.au//get-physical-t/ See more

15.01.2022 Pamela has some excellent videos that helps us understand the workings and power of art therapy. This video shows a simple way to re-program our memories by clearing emotional patterns. I also use another very effective clearing tool with clients called Emotional Freedom Techniques - EFT. So, stay tuned and I will introduce you to EFT shortly.

14.01.2022 I've created a series of brief slide shows introducing EFT and this is sideshow 1. I'm happy to answer questions about EFT and also about my services. Please click on picture to hear music if you wish.

13.01.2022 This has been a fantastic year in my first year of providing Art Therapy for clients in a variety of settings, particularly for seniors with dementia in a community day centre. I carried out my Student Placement there at the start of the year, and having completed my qualification, I volunteer 1 full day a week. I also include facilitating a relaxation group which the clients find beneficial. I love the fact that this process is for everyone as it is about self expression. We are not looking as much for a end product as we are the journey of the creating experience. Clients make personal meaning and can gain their own insights. These photos showcase our year of art making and exploring the process together.

11.01.2022 This is so true!

09.01.2022 An interesting challenge to try!

09.01.2022 What's your intention for 2021?

07.01.2022 Come steal me away If only for a day O, what joy it shall be Just you and me ... Shall we take upon a walk With plenty of time to talk Or let’s just catch the air As the day shall be so fair Let’s take this moments chance And together, hand in hand we shall dance For us today is just a dream Why, what else could it possibly mean Poem written by Athey Thompson Art by Jean-Babtiste Monge For art work by Jean https://www.facebook.com/jeanbaptiste.monge https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/StudioJBMongeGoblin

05.01.2022 I hope you're all having an awesome weekend and enjoying the cool before the heat arrives soon! I nearly got blown away at my stall last week with the wind,,, Apart from that we had good times and I received positive action and feedback about my Art Therapy stall. I provide a space for everyone to express their creativity at my stall and in private sessions that are booked at a time that suits you! This coming week I am moving with the crew from Mindarie to Jindalee. So come... and check us out. So glad to be a part of the Mobile Food Court group who support small businesses :) Details: 8th December, 4-8 pm Location: Windjammer Park, Jindalee, Perth. *PLEASE NOTE that this is a NEW LOCATION, and it is no longer held at the Brigantine park. I hope to see you there!

03.01.2022 Hi folks, I've upscaled my stall to include a marquee! Thanks so much to my helpful neighbouring stall holders who assisted me with it . My activity corner was a hit especially with kids as usual, and I introduced my sand tray with objects on the ground mat. Popular too! An important part of my time at the event is explaining what Art Therapy is and it's benefits to people, and also about my services to those interested. ... This week I'm heading with Mobile Food Court to Celebration Park, Clarkson on Thur 17 Dec, and Frid 18 Dec to Picasso Park, Alkimos. Both events are 4 - 8 pm. Catch you there!

01.01.2022 I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy new year for 2019. May you always be supported along your journey and adventures that unfold. Take a look at this inspirational video of quotes from wise and well known people. One step forward at a time can make all the difference to making your life better, and that of others better as you share your gifts and talents freely. As Buzz Lightyear would say - To infinity and beyond! In love and light, Emma :)
