22.01.2022 SEWING MACHINES FOR THE COBARGO BUSHFIRE RELIEF Dear Emmaus Families Are You Able to Help? ... A request from Mrs Julie OMeara (Emmaus family). Mrs OMearas mother Robyn who is part of the Cobargo Quilters group and a very keen sewer has been trying to source donations of new or used sewing machines particularly the Janome brand, for people who have lost their machines in the recent bushfires. Julie is traveling down to Cobargo to finally see her mum next Thursday and was wondering if anyone within the Emmaus community could assist her with any donations please. If you have a sewing machine you are happy to donate please bring it to the Emmaus Front Office before the Thursday, 14th May 2020. Many thanks Emmaus Administration Team & Julie OMeara

18.01.2022 Anyone who was at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday last week should immediately self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19.... It will be a requirement from midday today. The ACT Chief Health Officer Dr Kerryn Coleman says the outbreak of eight known cases from the club presents the biggest risk of importing a case into the ACT. A number of Canberrans have already been identified as being at the club on those dates. ACT Health is helping NSW with contact tracing and is urging anyone affected to contact health authorities and self-isolate for 14 days.

09.01.2022 We all need a Teacher like Miss Orr! On Friday of last week Miss Orr taught her class online and the students were greeted constantly throughout the day with her many hats and faces. She truly makes us smile and laugh. Miss Orr insisted that her Hat jokes be added to this post. So here they are - enjoy! Spotted a chap playing tennis in a hat the other day. ... Think it was Roger Fedora. I just bought a new hat Fedora? No, for me. I saw an advert saying, Hairpieces from $5. I thought, Thats a small price toupee. Who wears the biggest hat in the army? The one with the biggest head. Barbers. You have to take your hat off to them. What do you call a dinosaur that wears a cowboy hat and boots? Tyrannosaurus Tex. I saw a big cat wearing a very flamboyant hat the other day. I think it was a dandy lion. What did the hat say to the tie? You hang around hereIll go on a head. I dont like jokes about hats. They go over my head. Have you noticed that small men often wear pointy red hats? ... its a little gnome fact Did you know you can fit any boat over your head like a hat, if you just flip it over? Thats how you make it cap-sized... Why do spies always wear hats? Because they are undercover. Ive been feeling down, so I bought some new socks Cause you know what they say: A hat warms the head A coat warms the body But socks warm the sole. Why couldnt the computer take its hat off? It had CAPS lock on. I lost the reverse hat wearing competition last night. Just couldnt get my head around it. I tend to be extra cautious around tall, large men with ten-gallon hats Theyre pretty shady individuals.
