25.01.2022 Congratulations to Caleb, Cassie, Chloe, Cooper, Ellie, Emma, Erin, Jaydan, Kristie, Matt and Rebekah on your participation at our Defensive Driving Day on Friday. All of the trainers really appreciated the way you all dedicated yourselves to gaining as much experience and fun out of the day as was possible, despite the hot weather. We considered it to be a huge success! Wishing you all every success in your driving future.

23.01.2022 Starting tomorrow, the fine for using your handheld mobile phone while driving is $1000 and 4 demerit points. - There are around 25 deaths in Queensland each year that can be attributed to driving distracted. - Using a mobile phone while driving makes you four times more likely to be involved in a serious crash.... Leave your phone alone. It's not worth it!

23.01.2022 LET'S GET DRIVING!! (Restrictions to be eased) One of my clients advised me today they are 49km from Woorim Beach.Time to wax the surfboards! COVID restrictions ease... Following encouraging signs Queensland is flattening the COVID-19 curve, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced stay at home restrictions will ease. From 11.59pm Friday, May 1, Queenslanders will be able to leave their homes for recreation and the distance they can travel has been extended. For example, Queenslanders will be able to enjoy some relief from stay-at-home rules and: Go for a drive; Ride a motorbike, jetski or boat for pleasure; Have a picnic; Visit a national park; and Shop for non-essential items But there are three conditions that apply linked to the above: Social distancing and hygiene must be maintained You have to stay within 50km of home and Outings are limited to members of the same household or an individual and one friend

22.01.2022 An announcement from the QLD Govt today that testing for car licences will resume on June 15. Priority will be given to those that already had tests booked before restrictions were introduced. Stay tuned for more information. We will pass updates along as they come to us.

21.01.2022 I can’t speak highly enough of the service the PCYC provides for learner drivers. Definitely worth looking into for anyone struggling to finish their logbook and incredibly rewarding for anyone looking to become a mentor.

21.01.2022 Five years ago today, Emmaus Driver Training conducted its first driving lesson with a young man named Heinrich. What began as a single trainer with a manual car has now become a business supporting four trainers and six cars. There have been many individuals and families that have lent wonderful support to us over these last five years including customers, friends, family and other driving schools in the industry that have a common goal of looking after a client no matter who gets the work. To all, we say a massive Thank You! It has been our absolute pleasure to share the "L Plate" journey with all of our customers and we are looking forward to the challenges and successes the coming years will be sure to bring!

I spent 6 wonderful years learning everything I know about training working alongside some wonderful mentors here. Their motto is come let us treat you like a champion. We also care for the health and safety of our Driver Trainers. We ask that you c...omplete this short checklist before commencing the lesson. Your complete honesty is important as we protect our community. Question 1 Do I have any flu-like symptoms such as fever, aching limbs or respiratory symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath, runny nose or sneezing? No/Yes If yes, you will be unable to take your training lesson today. We recommend you see a health professional. Question 2 Have recently travelled to any significantly affected countries or you have had close contact with someone who has the virus or who has travelled from countries significantly affected. No/Yes If yes, you will be unable to take your training lesson today. We recommend you follow professional advice about self-quarantining for 14 days (or such other period recommended by the Department of Health). We ask that you always practice good hygiene to protect against infection. Good hygiene includes: Washing your hands often with soap and water - this is better than hand sanitiser. 09.01.2022 Learner Drivers can continue with supervised driving. StreetSmarts is a road safety initiative created by the Queensland Government. This post is confirmation that learner drivers can continue to build their hours within their local area. 06.01.2022 LEARNERS CAN RENEW THEIR LEARNER LICENCE AT NO COST. Due to COVID-19 and the temporary suspension of practical driving tests, learner drivers who are required to renew their learner licence can do so at no cost while the practical driving tests are suspended and for 3 months after. The learner licence renewal fee has been waived as some learner licence holders will need to renew their licence in order to take a practical driving test in the future.

01.01.2022 The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads has cancelled all Driving Tests for the next three months (subject to review). Emmaus Driver Training is continuing to service our clients whilst implemening strict hygiene practices.
