21.01.2022 http://IF IT'S TO BE IT'S UP TO ME// This is a little motto that my Mum has instilled into me and woven into my life for as long as I can remember. For all the hard times when I fell down and I didn't think I could pick myself up or those times things didn't go my way, when I lost a race or failed when I expected to succeed, my Mum was always there to pick up the shattered pieces of hope, love me, but also remind me that I am the one that holds all the power to change an outcome a...nd create the future that I want. That saying is now more revelant to me than ever before as the race that I am trying to win is being successful in my own business. I have taken a big risk in choosing to rely on myself and my abilities to generate my future income....that is pretty scary stuff....especially as I love travelling so much, so matching my full time income pretty quicky to ensure I still have that freedom is a massive driver for me. It is so easy to get caught up in the fear of "what if I can't do it"....but let me ask you this, if you can't, then who can? It is about backing yourself, taking steps in the right direction and not letting fear or self doubt immobilise you. That is a thought process I ensure to implement every single day. REMEMBER that FEAR CREATES STATUES. Just believe you can, do what you have to do anyway and soon you will find that you are soaring high with success. 20.01.2022 http://YOU DO YOU// Happy International Woman's Day 2020! "YOU DO YOU" was the theme at today's @fusionbizco @socialclubcommunity IWD brunch. This concept is actually something I have been mulling over quite a lot lately... What is me? What exactly makes me "me"? How do I "do me"?!... I have always tried to work this out by what I am not: I am not a talented acting/performer type personality. I can't do accents or quirky voices. I don't do lots of cool funny facial expressions. And the list goes on and on.... In the past, I have used all the things that I am not as a yard stick to measure my worthiness and value. It has been a life long judgement on my personality resulting in a self belief that I am less because of all the things that I am not. But what I have never really thought about is.... what is me?!..... I have a big energy that can be felt when I walk into a room (so I am told) I love to laugh, like really laugh and that is often contagious, making others around me laugh too I am witty, with a unique sense of humour and I think fast on my feet. I love to have a good time and make sure everyone else around me does too. I am a free spirit and follow my own path I am not influenced by what others do I am a massive nurturer I am a researcher and a self appointed authority on every subject I am passionate about I am pretty particular about almost everything I am so much yet I have made the mistake of comparing myself to others and thinking I am less because of the attributes I don't have. I think this picture captures me and the essence of who I am: happy, laughing, smiling, passionate, light-hearted and free, but always deep in thought and analytical underneath. So, if you can relate to any of this then join me and start by looking inside to appreciate what you bring to the circle. 17.01.2022 http://SOMETHING ABOUT ME // sharing a silly fun fact about me from my younger days as a little kid in primary school. Like many of you out there, I am an absolute stationary fiend. I just love all the pretty colours and styles! I can't help myself when I walk past the likes of @kikkik and stop in to oggle (and buy) all the nice pens, notebooks, diaries and anything else that catches my eye #hellokmart. It just makes me feel good and organised!... When I was a child, I remember hating the idea of getting older and growing up because I knew I would have to give up my coloured pencils...(anyone else out there that also couldnt imagine themselves older - well it happened #hello40s) I really really LVED new sets of coloured pencils, how they smelt, all the beautiful colours, all perfectly sharpened and the same length. I was also scared about getting older because I didn't think I would ever be able to work out how to use a washing machine #scary. If only that were still the case . Since becoming an adult #alongtimeago, I have learnt that it is perfectly ok to have coloured pencils and washing machines aren't that scary. If only there was a machine that hung out the clothes, folded them and put them all away. It is a nice reminder to step back into a child like mind set from time to time: to keep things simple and to appreciate the little things that matter to you and not get caught up in all of life's endless worries #happymonday . . #ipreview via @preview.app

17.01.2022 COFFFFFFEEEEEE......the absolute perfect and essential way to start my day! I used to always make my coffee at home during the week and then treat myself to cafe coffee on weekends. But then I realised just HOW much I love a "proper" barista made coffee and just HOW happy it makes me....so this year I decided that $5.00 a day is a worthwhile spend on self live and buying a perfect morning coffee which makes me smile and sing LaLaLaLaLaLa ...... Who else is a sucker for ...a yummy coffee ? ...... My absolute favourite place is @ingredienttree in Wembley. They make the yummiest and consistent coffee with a full blend Italian roast by Genovese.....check it out. Tell me, where is your favourite coffee spot in Perth to add to my list . 16.01.2022 http://FEAR// did you know that this is the #1 reason why even the most amazing business ideas don't get off the ground?! I get it, the fear and the thought of failure is absolutely crippling. Personally, if I hadn't been backed into a corner, I would probably still be in my full time job, thinking up a tonne of brilliant business ideas that go nowhere and feeling regret.... Fortunately I chose to "ride or die" on myself. So I guess you are wondering....but HOW do I get past the fear to just "make shit happen"?! 1 STOP doubting yourself IMMEDIATELY! No one else is doubting, questioning or judging your ability but you! 2 Just START, there is never a clear or perfect starting point. 3 ALWAYS push negative thoughts away, they are just your thoughts trying to scare yourself into inaction. 4 Set a small GOAL and reach it! 5 Then set another small goal (even just creating a business card, this will start to make it all feel real). If you LOVE it, you can absolutely DO IT.....no one was born an expert, they became one from trying, learning, failing and trying again. So don't sit there and dream, take a chance and make it happen. Some people are terrified of networking, the thought of showing up in a room full of strangers to make small talk for a few hours, fills them with fear.... But it is just that, talking....and it is SO important for all businesses, regardless of their size. Networking, as difficult as some people find it, is amazing and necessary for key 3 reasons: 1. It helps you practise and fine tune your elevator pitch to make sure you know exactly what you are offering to potential clients. 2. It helps you create a net-work (funny that) of support that you can lean on as you grow your business. 3. It educates people about you and what you do. You just never know who may be needing the services you happen to offer at some stage in the future. So I encourage you to find an event that has synergies with your business and just go. Don't over think it or anticipate all the things that could go wrong....just square your shoulders, walk into the room and be yourself. Some people will love you and there may be other people that you just don't gel with.... and that is perfectly ok :) I just recieved my busines cards and have hit the ground running racking up quite a few events in the past 2 weeks...but I have made some great connections...and that is what it is all about. Remember that getting business is a bonus....don't walk in the room ready to rack up a bunch of sales and new clients. Networking provides the opportunity for people to like who you are as a person, this will make them interested in what you do, investing in and growing the relationship over time will build trust which will help the growth of your business in the future. And finally, networking can be exhausting, so I would suggest only attending 1 to 2 events a week maximum (and if you don't like an event you go to or it is not beneficial to your business, remeber it is ok to just leave, afterall your time is. 12.01.2022 It's time to POP the champagne and celebrate....because I am officially a business. I received payment on my first invoice this week (what an amazing feeling) which I think officially qualifies me as an operational business owner . I am really enjoying working with Perth local businesses as a freelance Business Development Strategy Partner providing fresh perspectives and ideas for my clients to implement to help them grow their businesses.... Today also marks 4 weeks since I worked my last day at @Lavan in a full time role . I have been super busy since I left but in a totally different way. ... My mind is still constantly running 100 miles an hour but now it is about: how I can grow my business formulating strategies to implement in my client's businesses to grow theirs. Devising strategies, implementing them and seeing them be successful makes me feel so alive. //MAKING A BIG LIFE CHANGE//Once you make a decision, trust that it is the right one (a lot of thought, analysis and weighing up would have gone into making that big decision)..... So once it is made, follow through, no matter how scary it is and put all your energy into the future....don't look back on the past....know that you have everything you need from the days gone as it has moulded you into who you are today. 05.01.2022 http://THE POWER OF WORD OF MOUTH// you would have seen that I just celebrated my 1 year Biz anniversary on the weekend and I have a confession to make!!! I still DON'T have a website all I have had this past year is a landing page. I have been so busy working for my clients that I never had (nor prioritised) time to get one!... But the amazing thing is that, while this is not ideal and I definitley don't recommend it. Not having one hasn't stopped my business from growing. Not having a website in my first year of business reinforced one of the most basic corner stones of successful marketing....WORD OF MOUTH is everything! By word of mouth I mean, talking about what you do as well as referrals from your clients. Every new client I gained this year was from striking up a face to face conversation, networking or referrals from my current clients. But how do I turn a general conversation into a business opportunity? Well I do this 1 basic thing every single time I meet someone new that may be relevant to my business..... I make sure I tell that what I do Not in a weirdo way, and sometimes it may not come up (please never force it), but if there is an opportunity, then I can guarantee you that I seize the day! It is so important as a business owner that you are not shy about sharing what you do! You never know who could be looking for the help your business offers. 05.01.2022 LOVING THIS LONG WEEKEND Autumn and 30 degrees! Chilling at the beach, swimming in crystal clear water, lapping up the sun and spending time with family....is there really any better way to fill in a day? If I stay at home I can't switch off and relax. I am always thinking about all the things I need to do and I feel so guilty if I am not ticking things off my list. So to unwind I will always change my environment....part of the reason why I love to travel so much. ... Summer, hot weather and swimming in crystal clear water all sit at the top of my happiness list, so now that Autumn has arrived and the summer days are coming to an end, I will relish this weather at the beach and happily let the 'to do' list pile up which I will happily tackle once the cooler weather arrives. 04.01.2022 http://CONFESSION TIME// So I have to confess that I totally suck at dressing up for themed parties!!! I don't know how it happens but every single time....when the big day arrives, I find myself without an appropriate themed outfit. . This time, I have no excuse! I have had sooooo many months notice to prepare for tomorrow's Bling It on 500 members party by @villamanagement and guess what....yet again....I don't have an outfit for the "bling it on" theme.... . Believe me....I thought about it a whole lot, and I have had it at the back of my mind for months, I have even vaguely browsed the shops but did not actively follow through on getting something to wear in advance. . Some people are absolutely kick arse at dressing up, they put in so much effort and look amazing...that gene totally went MIA in me and I know tomorrow I will marvelling at everyone's fabulous outfit wishing that for just once I had managed get my shit together (and yes....for this exact reason...I have never thrown a themed party). . All I managed was a spot of online browsing and screen shotting potential dresses which are right now still happily living online rather than sparkling in my wardrobe waiting to be donned for tomorrow's grand party... *see my Insta stories for my top 5* . So ladies....I aplogise in advance for not blingin it on tomorrow, the best I will be able to do is some Beyonce style eye catching accessories and my sparkly personality (unless....I am a bit late and go shopping on the way....) . 01.01.2022 http://REAL TALK// I just got home from the office feeling really drained. I laid on my bed to catch my breath and have a moment of stillness whilst I contemplated my next move. All I had wanted to do all day was go to the beach for a swim . But as I lay there, I started rationalising what I realistically should do next. At the moment I have so much going on and feel like I am drowning, so should I:... keep working as I have so much to do walk Lake Monger as I haven't done enough steps today go veggie shopping so I am organised for meals These are all important and necessary things to do, but as I stood in the kitchen feeling a bit depressed I went #fuckit....let me do the one thing that will actually make me happy....go to the beach for a swim. I was struggling so hard to prioritise my own happiness over tasks....but if I am not feeling happy then what is the point? So here I am at City Beach, I have swum, I am laying on the sand watching the waves and inhaling the fresh salty air watching the sun make its way to someone elses morning and it is absolutely glorious!
