Forever grateful that we are able to sustainably and ethically source our own fresh fish and enjoy perfect sunset dinners on the cliffs

Weve been renovating up a storm in... you guessed it - the kitchen! From the initial planning stages, demo and finally a brand new installation, this has been a blast! 14.01.2022 SOLD! Hello, and welcome to our page! Our names are Nadine and Ryan, avid lovers of the coast, nature and the great outdoors. Marion Bay has always held a special place in our hearts, so when the opportunity arose we purchased a little beach cottage dubbed Emmes in March 2020. Despite the fact that the house looked a little worse for wear we leapt right into the deep end ~ we saw so much potential we just had to have her! Fast forward a few months and were in the midst... of a full-blown renovation, with the goal of fully transforming the house into beautifully curated seaside accommodation, ready for bookings this summer. We hope you love following us along our journey, well see you down at Yorkes!

13.01.2022 Anyone else have the instant urge to get inside a lighthouse and explore it as soon as they see one? Not to mention how hard it is to resist the temptation to start climbing to the top... Were sure its not quite as exciting as we might think... but that childlike curiosity always gets the better of us when it comes to lighthouses for some reason! Anyone else fell the same? 10.01.2022 Its June 1st and were all starting to bunker down, put on a fire, grab a hot chocolate & dig up our trackies... but instead of celebrating the start of winter, were counting down until Summer! Today marks six months to go until December 1st... which means six months to go until Emmes is open for bookings! We may be biased... but were getting pretty excited!

09.01.2022 Hello lovely people We hope everyone is having a great week so far! Sorry we've been a little MIA lately, things have been busy down here at Emmes! Ryan has started his new job working for Reef Encounters Fishing Charters and he's just been out on the water six days straight! Meanwhile Nadine has been setting up two businesses all whilst starting a new job cleaning holiday houses Safe to say we haven't had too much time to renovate! Don't worry though, we've got big reno plans coming up and they'll all be revealed soon!

05.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! We hope youre all having a great start to your week Stay tuned if youre curious how our little cottage got its name! When we bought the house, it already had the name "Emmes" carved into a sign out in the front yard. We discovered it was named after Emmes Reef, which is about 10km offshore from Inneston, the very tip of the Yorke Peninsula. We added "Escape" and before we knew it the name had stuck! Bonus points if you already knew that Emmes is pronounced as "E-a-m-e-s"!

05.01.2022 Probably one of the most visited spots in Marion Bay, Penguin Point is filled with holiday makers, babies splashing in the shallows, kids learning to surf, and dogs runnings amok all throughout summertime. In the winter, however, it is gloriously empty - untouched except for the occasional fisherman. We love ending our days here watching the sun go down and the stars come out

05.01.2022 Weve seen this little shipwreck in Innes National Park countless times, but never really stopped to appreciate how beautiful it actually is! We wouldve loved this as kids ~ can just imagine us clambering all over it for hours imagining we were sailors or pirates!

01.01.2022 The weather has been absolutely shocking in Marion Bay lately! So much rain and wind you’d think we were in the middle of July! So, we’re curled up inside with the heater blazing and planning our next adventure like this one in Innes National Park

01.01.2022 In case you missed our announcement on Instagram last night... Six months ago we started building our dream seaside getaway for many to enjoy. Since then, our heart and soul has been poured into making this little house a home for anyone passing by... problem is... it started feeling like home very quickly and now, well, it is going to be our home - we are moving in! Life has taken a turn lately and we will be giving this little slice of paradise a good test run before anyone else gets a go (sorry guys!) But one thing we can promise is that you can keep the dream alive as it’s still our goal to share this with you, you just have to wait a little longer! On the bright side, we get to spend even more time making it a perfect holiday haven for when it’s your turn. Till then... follow along as we live the dream
