13.01.2022 Here in New South Wales #Australia self-quarantine looks a bit different to most countries overseas, or even other states in Australia. We are currently allowed to go outside every day and I have been filling my days with getting stuck in to the house, getting organised, long beach and/or park walks and applying for jobs. . If you didn’t read my #selfcare post the other day please remember that although things are super intense right now: 4. Get outside! We need sunshine and... Vitamin D to survive so make sure you spend some time every day outside in the fresh air. Yes we must follow the rules and instructions in place and keep distance from others, but that doesn’t mean we can’t sit on the lawn or the balcony and bask in the sun for a little while. . What are you up to? For those of you who are in #quarantine or #isolation what are you doing during the day? . . . Stunning #illustration by @lunarlilt See more

05.01.2022 S E L F C A R E . Struggling? Here are 8 ways to get started with your self-care: . 1. Sleep at normal sleep times. Don’t over sleep at the moment either though! If you are finding your sleeping patterns affected at the moment I recommend researching "sleep hygiene and implementing some of the strategies. ... . 2. Eat! Make sure you are still eating regularly and healthily. Take care of yourself by taking care of your gut. Your gut health can have a significant impact on your health, well-being, and feelings of vitality. . 3. Exercise daily. Move your body, go for a walk, do an online class, even just dance it out in your living room to your favourite tunes - just make sure you have some time every day that you are moving!! . 4. Get outside! We need sunshine and vitamin D to survive so make sure you spend some time every day outside in the fresh air. Yes we are keeping distance from others but that doesn’t mean we can’t sit on the lawn or the balcony and bask in the sun for a little while. . 5. Get organised, clean out the cupboards, the drawers, go through the house and reorganise, do some nesting and see how good you feel after. It’s a great feeling having a clean organised space! . 6. Cook! Many people don’t take the time to make themselves meals, preferring instead to stop for fast food or popping a pre-made meal in the microwave. Now is the time to build on our cooking skills . 7. Get creative! Paint, draw, learn to play guitar - whatever creative outlet you love to do, or have wanted to learn, now is the time to do it! It’s also amazingly therapeutic and great for moments of anxiety or heightened emotions. . 8. Write! Write people letters, journal how you are feeling, write a list of what you would like to achieve during this time, write down what you are most grateful for... writing things by hand is healing it also sharpens the brain and helps us learn. Apparently sequential hand movements, like those used in handwriting, activate large regions of the brain responsible for thinking, language, healing and working memory! . Stay strong and healthy my friends - and make sure you reach out to loved ones See more
