20.01.2022 I asked the Hostess, what should I do if I get asked to play older music? She said, "don't! I only want new stuff". I always hear these kind of expectations at the start of a night or during a pre-consult. Yet, I know that will all change once everyone is tanked. .... as you can see!!! :)
20.01.2022 The DJ course I mentioned in an earlier post is ready. I just have to work on things at my end to make it available. It covers all the things needed to DJ in night clubs, bars etc. But with COVID-19 putting a stop to so much. This course will have eager beavers up and running in no time to confidently do "live" mix-ups during down time. I think if there's a great time to learn or improve ones craft... it is now! Be back again soon! :)

17.01.2022 Although it was a challenge at times party goers practised social distancing. We tried to keep the dance floor to about 10 so there were heaps more dancing in smaller groups inside and outside. What an amazing night made by an incredible pack of party animals

15.01.2022 This was an intimate wedding reception with a small guest list of around 30 people. But man, people were dancing all night long! Beautiful newly weds... they came up at the end shaking hands, hugs, telling me what a great night they had. Thinking back I would've loved to have captured them on video! What a night it was.

12.01.2022 WOW! Two weekends in a row!! A Wedding, and a 40th Birthday party, postponed until further notice due to what's happening in the world right now. I feel for the Bride and Groom, and the Birthday Girl having to make these decisions. But once we're all back to norm again we'll rock the party's that's for sure! Stay safe!!
09.01.2022 It's been awhile with COVID-19 putting a hold on things. I've had plenty of time to work on something new for Dj'ing. I've gone from clubs and bars to mobile doing weddings and parties. I love Dj'ing but I can feel the door slowly closing. So the next chapter is DJ lessons. Not me teaching, I've a dj program that I think teaches techniques students need to learn to get up and running fast or refresh the skills of competent djs. Plus a whole lot of other great information inc...luded. So you'll see some progressive changes as we go along. Meantime, stay safe. :)

08.01.2022 After DJ'ing countless thousands of events I still get blown away at what I'm compelled to play to discover that it works. The key is not to over think whether a song will work or not, but it's a gut feeling (intuition) you get when you connect with everyone...it's hard to explain. :)
04.01.2022 Just awaiting the final pieces of accessories and equipment to arrive to complete our new DJ set up. The speakers sound amazing, even at low level, which is so important especially for the private events we do now. For the early part of an event when it's low key background music it's great to know the sound is terrific and it gets even better as the night progresses. :)
02.01.2022 Arrive at venue two hours before start time. Set-up and do sound check... There is an energy in Surfers Paradise exclusive and never ending. Especially late afternoon or maybe its just me. But I had to take a quick video and pan 360. Here it is. What an amzing night it ended up being! :)

01.01.2022 Mobile DJ'ing is a lot of fun theses days! I find myself playing songs that I'd never play in a night club or a bar... or in fact I didn't really like in the past. This wedding had a huge space (the dance floor) between the dj booth - the newly weds, bridal party, and guest's. It felt awkward connecting with everyone (musically) at the start because of the distance. But I could see who was moving (or not moving) to the music to be able to get things happening.... Once I kicked in with my warm-up set the energy picked up and a great vibe was building. Guests got into dancing before all the formalities were over, and things were coming together nicely. Considering it was an intimate crowd of about 50 family and close friends, people were dancing all night once dinner was over. I was very happy the the night. Great people, lots of fun! :)
