11.01.2022 Yesterday Jamie Horner our Principal spoke to Kim Macdonald at The West Australian about today’s Perth cover story. We have known for months that the numbers are scary. High demand and competition for a very limited supply, creating huge upward price pressures and desperate prospective tenants. Critically low rental housing stock will remain throughout 2021, whilst public housing waitlists continue to rise.... We require at least 5,000 to 6,000 additional rental properties to meet the market. Our rental housing market relies heavily on the private investor and there seems limited measures in place by the State Government to address this issue and attract investors into the market. #propertyinvestment #propertymanagement #realestate

02.01.2022 Less than 4 weeks ago the vacancy rate was at 1.6% in Perth and today it’s 1.3%. On August 22nd our Principal Jamie Horner was quoted in The West Australian advising that rental leasing activity in Perth was at unsustainable levels.... It’s evident we will hit critical levels by the end of this year and with the state Goverments decision to extend the Residential COVID Act till March 28th 2021, the WA Government will need to work quickly to address the lack of investor supply in Perth. Unless the State Government is able to increase public and private rental stock immediately we will unfortunately see undue pressure and homelessness for many people. The rental market relies heavily on mum and dad investors and the current Residential extension will do nothing to encourage the huge supply of housing numbers we require to meet demand. #propertymanagement #propertyinvestment
