09.01.2022 Hazard Reduction Notification The NSW Rural Fire Service - Central Coast District proposes to conduct the following hazard reduction burns this week: Thursday,... 17th September Brightwaters Stage 1 HR - 11 hectares, southern side of Fishery Point Road, opposite Yarrawonga Park Rd, Mirrabooka, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Friday, 18th September Seahampton HDC HR - 22 hectares, HDC & Lake Macquarie Council, east of Fourth Street, George Booth Dr & M1 Pacific Motorway, Seahampton, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Rennie HR 9 hectares, Private Property 100 Narara Rd, Cooranbong, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Saturday, 19th September Acacia FT Stage 2 HR - 2 hectares, Central Coast Council, Pacific Highway, west of Colongra Bay Rd, Lake Munmorah, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Norah Head 2020 HR - 12 hectares, Darkinjung & Central Coast Council, north of Norah Head Sports Club extending to View Street & west of Barton Street, Norah Head, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Walkabout Wildlife Park HR - 1.2 hectares, Private HR at the entry to Walkabout Wildlife Park, Mount White, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Private HR - 5 hectares, Private Property 187 Waratah Rd, Mangrove Mountain, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Eraring Area B HR - 95 hectares, Private Property Eraring Power Station, 235 Construction Road, Myuna Bay, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. Sunday, 20th September Eraring Area A HR - 21 hectares, Private Property Eraring Power Station, Rocky Point Road & Rail Corridor, Eraring, commencing at approximately 9:00am and to be completed by approximately 7:00pm. There will be smoke and fire activity visible from local roadways during and after the hazard reduction operation. Motorists in this area should slow down and take care if driving through smoke, including keeping windows up and turning their headlights on. Residents in this area should take the appropriate precautions including keeping doors and windows closed, remove washing from clothes lines and ensure any pets are in a protected area. Residents may also experience discoloured water due to firefighters extracting water from the water mains during the hazard reduction operation. Please note that the hazard reduction may be re-scheduled should weather conditions be inappropriate. Ongoing patrols of the burn will be conducted as required. PREPARE. ACT. SURVIVE.

05.01.2022 The Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) will commence tomorrow (1 September 2020) in 21 local government areas. This means land owners and land managers in these are...as must now obtain a free Fire Permit from their local fire authority before lighting any fires, including hazard reduction burns. Even if you’ve been using fire for many years, safe burning is your responsibility. Contact your local Fire Control Centre to obtain your free Fire Permit and follow its conditions. Heavy fines apply for the unsafe use of fire or if your fire escapes. Don’t be the fire risk to your community. Use fire safely.
