24.01.2022 I just had a phone conversation with Boris Bolgoff, the Central Coast Council's Senior Manager Roads, Transport and Drainage, about the reconstruction of Greenf...ield Road. Sadly, I can offer little reassurance as to when this work will commence. Boris told me that Council has completed the assessment of the entire Central Coast's roads' matrix and will be presenting a prioritised list of road rejuvenation projects that will be available in Council's website later in the year. However, any reconstruction projects, like Greenfield Rd, will be subject to Councillors' priorities on capital spending and will be assessed along with pathways, cycleways, etc. There will be "line items" in the 2018/19 budget, to be delivered in April/May that pertain to the reconstruction of Greenfield Rd but they will be for its design and engineering. Adam Crouch, State MP for Terrigal, and Lucy Wicks, Federal MP for Robertson, have encouraged Council to apply for Black Spot funding for the reconstruction of Greenfield Road and, if successful, the project will be expedited. The next round of Black Spot funding will be in the second half of this year, Boris said. They have both said that they will be informing Council, and the Empire Bay Community, of any grants that may apply to the reconstruction of Greenfield Rd when they become available. We can only hope that we can put enough political pressure on all levels of Government to prioritise the reconstruction of Greenfield Road. This means that you, as well as EBDRAG, will need to write to, email and phone Adam Crouch, Lucy Wicks and the three Councillors of our Gosford East Ward Rebecca Gale Collins, Jeff Sundstrom and the Mayor, Jane Smith. Here's their email addresses: Lucy Wicks, Federal MP for Robertson: Adam Crouch, State MP for Terrigal: Rebecca Gale Collins, Gosford East Ward Councillor: Jeff Sundstrom, Gosford East Ward Councillor: Jane Smith, Gosford East Ward Councillor and Mayor:

19.01.2022 Some great photos of the community owned Empire Bay Progress Hall taken by drone in March, 2018. What a wonderful facility we have for our community to use.

15.01.2022 CALL TO THE EMPIRE BAY COMMUNITY! The Empire Bay Progress Association (EBPA) needs YOU! If you are a resident of Empire Bay, here's a great opportunity for you... to make a difference to your community. The EBPA AGM is being held from 7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 5, and Progress Hall, 1 Gordon Rd Empire Bay and we need willing people to contribute to the stewardship of our great community asset, Progress Hall, as well as advocate for improvements to the infrastructure and amenity of our wonderful locale. Recently, the Committee has been working to upgrade Progress Hall with ducted air conditioning, repainting, inside and out, as well the immanent installation of a 6.6 kW solar panel system. The Hall is a major community resource that is used on an almost daily basis for family and community activities. It is owned by us, the Empire Bay community, and we are honoured to be in possession of such a great asset. The major win for our community was the reconstruction of Greenfield Rd, that will commence very soon, after a two year campaign in partnership with the Empire Bay & Districts Roads Action Group (EBDRAG). We also saw the clearing of the locked drain in Sher Close/Shelly Beach Rd that was causing flooding in heavy rain and king tides. We are seeking Committee members who want to be a part of a fresh vision for our community. There is so much we can do to make our local space better for us. The EBPA Committee meets in the Hall bimonthly and all residents are invited to attend. Positions on the Committee roles are President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and Public Officer. The EBPA can set up sub-committees for any worthwhile project or cause. What we can do is only limited by our imagination and available funding, and there’s plenty of that around. We work with all levels of Government for funding and support. So, if you have some time and energy to contribute to your local community, we’d love to see you on March 5. :-)

08.01.2022 Excellent news, folks! After two years of campaigning EBDRAG, can finally announce that the Central Coast Council is unblocking the drains that have been causin...g the flooding over decades in the Sher Close/Shelly Beach Road area. Work will commence tomorrow, Wednesday, August 15. Hopefully, residents will be free from flooding issues into the future. However, please report any flooding to Council should it reoccur.

08.01.2022 If you are considering installing solar panels on your roof, you are invited to attend this community info session. :-)

06.01.2022 Great news, folks! Our new solar panel system has been installed and is awaiting the new digital meter. Very soon we’ll be generating enough electricity to provide all the Hall’s needs, saving us up to $2k pa!

06.01.2022 Our ordinary meeting where you get to catch up on the latest and greatest from your Progress Association! :-)
