Each day you attend the gym = 1 entry into the draw *You must scan in upon entry and exit for it to be valid. Incomplete scans will not be counted *Only 1 entry, per member, per day. 20.01.2022 How many times have you tried the latest trend only to realise after Week 2 that it isn't what its cracked up to be? How low can you drop your calories before you starve? 20.01.2022 Ok so yesterday Jody and I had a pretty hectic day in the gym. We didn't really get a chance to duck back home to make some meals for the afternoon/evening, so we had to do some quick thinking and some #mealhacking from @aldiaustralia. 1. Frozen Zoodles (Zucchini noodles) 2. Frozen Salmon portions (2 x125g)... 3. Black beans 4. Avocado Dip 5. Fajita Seasoning Optional* Sprinkle of parmesan Method: 1. Zoodles + Salmon - microwave on high for 4 minutes 2. Flake and stir Salmon + Zoodles + 1-2tbsBeans + 1tbs Avocado Dip 3. Sprinkle Fajita seasoning & parmesan, stir through one more time. High protein, low carbs, high fibre, high in YUMMINESS!

18.01.2022 Yesterday we got to meal prep for a different reason! Although this might not be a typical meal we would have during the week, it wasn't actually for us. The partneships and support of our members allows us to extend Empowa's reach in helping as many people as possible. Your commitment to Empowa allows us to continue our commitment of changing lives. ... Yesterday we had the priviledge of preparing just under 60 meals which were then handed out to those less fortunate and without a place to call home. These meals were prepped, packaged and delivered to SWAG Family Sydney to be handed out in Martin Place last night. Your support for us, allows us to do this. So we share in this with you as a token of our appreciation.

Please make sure you drunk atleast 1 bottle of water to make sure you aren't dehydrated, as this will affect your reading. If you can't make it in early we will be doing scans up until we close at 12pm.... See you tomorrow!

11.01.2022 Why high intensity for shorter periods burns more calories? The afterburn effect is simply additional energy expenditure that occurs after exercise. It is the fat your body burns AFTER you have completed your work out. This so-called afterburn effect is more officially known as excess post-exercise oxygen consumption or simply, EPOC. And it isn’t new in the world of fitness. Several studies suggest there’s a strong correlation between the number of calories burned post exercise and the activity’s intensity. Simply put: The more intense the exercise, the more oxygen your body consumes afterward.

07.01.2022 Turning the lights off on 2020! Without a doubt this has been an absolute roller coaster of a year, from bushfires to a pandemic, 2020 has seen it all. A lot of people have felt the fear of uncertainty, the unknown and insecurity of a world that's been turned on its head. ... However, if there was only one lesson to take from 2020, then it has to be the immense value of having good health. This year has shown the absolute need for a strong immune system, nutritious food and a healthy and active life. These things have become a necessity for not only maintaining a healthy body free from disease, strength to fight off infection, but a necessity for our mental well being, and to cope with an uncertain future. This year has also shown us, the Empowa Team, how much you ladies mean to us. The friendships, support and sense of community you have created is mind blowing. Your kindness, generosity and empathy has blessed those less fortunate. You have taught us that what we are striving for in Empowa each and every day is worth every bit because you ladies have shown us just that. Ultimately you have shown us that through health and fitness we can truly change lives, one person at a time. And while uncertainty encircles us, you have shown that we can stick together, and we can overcome absolutely anything through sheer guts and determination. As we go into 2021, no matter what this past year has brought, you can look towards the year that lies ahead with feet firmly planted, to weather whatever storm may come, with confidence and know that we are there behind you all the way Thank you and have a very Happy New Year!

06.01.2022 An update for all of our members in light of recent updates from NSW Health: 1) Masks are not mandatory inside gyms. However members will have the option of purchasing a mask at reception should you wish to have one.... 2) Empowa is fully prepared for any restrictions. Our train in place concept ensures each member has their own set of equipment in a 4sqm Powazone to complete an effective, calorie burning workout. A reminder that we will continue to sanitize after each session. 3) Checking in and out. It is of vital importance that ALL members and visitors check in BEFORE and sanitise hands upon entering into the gym. And to make sure to CHECK OUT and sanitise upon exiting. 4) We will continue to sanitise and clean the gym twice per day as we have been for the past 7 months to ensure everyones safety. 5) If you are using the machines, cardio equipment or free weights area, please continue to use a towel and wipe down any touch points with the alcohol spray and paper towels provided. Your Empowa team will continue to stay at the forefront of your safety and sanitation needs in the gym. *If you experience any symptoms as outlined by NSW Health, please refrain coming to the gym and get yourself tested.

05.01.2022 Hi Ladies, so after HUGE response from everyone who has joined on to the Empowa 6wk Small Group PT Challenge, we have added an extra 7 sessions on to the timetable! In total we now have 34 Small Group PT Sessions running over the course of the week, that means 340 chances to get the best workout in. The Empowa team have been hard at work, and I have to give a big shout out to them with Jody leading the way in handling the enormous amount of work to get this challenge to run ...successfully. We love what we do and we hope you enjoy the new changes. Dev
