25.01.2022 , Below I love to work with dancers, fitness enthusiasts and yoga practitioners as they can create some outstanding imagery like we have with done with Clare and Micaela (other posts) I have recently bought a trigger that will allow the dancer to trigger the camera at peak of lift, and I am keen to try it out... So sitting in the spa I thought it would best if you are a #makeupartist, #hairstylist or work in #beauty (#beautician) or know of someone who does comment below. 20.01.2022 . , ? Are you still in bed, because it is a little bit windy and wet? Or are you out there braving the elements? Me, I like to make best of any situation presented - this has not always been the case. I have embraced a more positive mindset and can see the results, in my health, wealth and family life. This change cost me nothing!!!!... Too often we let our mind speak untruths to us, we are not good enough, we are this or that. This is what they think about you etc. 99% of the time these self thoughts are unhelpful and untrue. Put yourself out there, challenge some of those self-doubts - test them are they real or not Understand some feedback you receive may be critical, but ask yourself is this critique coming from a position of trust, respect and knowledge before taking it in. If not, disregard it. Today I am practicing what I preach, I am putting myself up for a one-on-one review with a photographer who I just love his work, and his outlook on life - with 177K followers, being Australian and at the leading edge of his field I am nervous and apprehensive, no doubt. 13.01.2022 Morning beautiful people, today I have 7 selfie tips Selfies are important to me as a professional photographer and I am not worried by them replacing me. We each have our place, in fact selfies tend to lead to the confidence in further exploring confidence through a photography experience. ... Who doesnt like getting pampered, done up, flattered and made to feel good - get some awesome images to share! 1 Find a well lit location, natural sunlight preferably. Turn off phone flash, as you should be a position not to require. Plus the world wants to see your face over flash 2 Point your face to the light source so you dont get weird shadows, although a light at 45 degrees and above can also be flattering 3 All photos are in the eyes, so feel like you are smiling with eyes, this will produce a more natural smile - even if you are not focussing on your face this will enhance result 4 Play to your angles. Muck around with different angles and identify, which is your fav side of face and above or below (rarely) 5 In this day and age, we all need them. Whether it is to show a more human angle to our business, or to finding a loved one. 12.01.2022 - , Yesterday I was part of the discussion where are you friend asked about How to achieve theme consistency with Instagram filters.... Answering her question will be the theme of tips Tuesday for this week. As more more people become involved in tips Tuesday I will in turn answer all questions posed like I am doing for Rachel. 1. .That is if you wear the same branding colours in all of your photos and photos are taken in the same type of light they will naturally achieve consistency. 2. . Shooting with consistent light like early morning or afternoon light will also help with Instagram feel consistency. Refrain from using smart phone flash as this presents and inconsistent look. 3. . When applying a filter where ever you can turn it down more than you think you should. It is preferable to step away from any editing and look at it again the next day to check the results. Interestingly our perception of colour is affected by caffeine, alcohol, and mood that is why it is good to step away and look at a photo again later. 4. . You may need to use one of two filters on different photos to get similar looks. So find two filters you like to work between achieving the consistency you are after. 5. . By not using Instagram filters or other presets and having a graphic designer, photographer, or or other creative to create your own colour theme/filter you will have a recognisable and different theme to your photos. I apply a custom colour theme to all my photos and modify it slightly to achieve a consistent look in photoshop. So there you go there am I five tips on improving Instagram/social media photo consistency. With respect to tip number five who would be interested in having their own custom colour theme/filter? 09.01.2022 Here is a short video showing how I take the image captured on location to the creative vision of the final BW Image for the Client. It steps through all major points I undertake to get to the final image.... - it would be the extra attention to detail. Yes, it takes a little more time - Leonardo Da Vinci spent four years plus on the Mona Lisa - however, the results speak for themselves. All my images are exited for Print as the output, and as such all skin blemishes etc are removed - even though if I was to only focus on social media this is a little overkill. Not only is my client communication, direction, posing tips my point of difference, so I would say is the extra level I provide in post-production. 08.01.2022 Up early this morning sitting in Spa, refining the smart phone photography notes for this coming week. I will be live at 5:30 pm each day Monday to Friday for 10-20 minutes discussing a topic, then providing notes for implementation the next day. Monday - How to take a photo. Find your angle Clock method. ... Tuesday - Composition lighting Wednesday- How to edit a photo using phone only Thursday - Backup and storing memories Friday - posting your photos to social media - to filter or not to filter. So by the end of the week and a commitment of 1-2 hours you will be able to know your best angles, take a selfie (without camera in your face, and distractions in background), edit, backup and upload photos correctly to social media. You will have learnt basic compositional and lighting techniques that will seperate you from others. Sonny PS. Tonight is something a little different, I am not the photographer for this shoot @d.p.k.photography was, as at the time of this shoot I suspect I was in the back of an Ambulance being rushed to Emergency Chloe and I had been planning a shoot for ages, when things, well, took a turn for the worst on my behalf - although I am still recovering I am way better now. So an hour before the shoot I had to cancel affecting my assistant @mrsrustyt...obe21, Chloe and her friend @_ppariss. I understand how much work goes in preparing for a shoot, as I have had models cancel in the past So to make it a little way up to her I have edited a number of images from the shoot for her, not all as yet as I have to rest a bit So tonight we get to look more at my retouching than my photography, you will see the Before and After, the BW and my Colour Version. 03.01.2022 What a massive weekend this was on the Gold Coast with two models and several looks and locations. Here is Tash O'Mara being kissed by the sunset. This lady is a born bikini babe don’t you agree. On Monday, I had a one on one with an Australian photography icon. ... There were so many outcomes out of the meeting, not to mention he felt I was progressing well . Most of the outcomes are solid gold, priceless in fact and should help me stand apart from others in 2021. One outcome I will share is having this lady on board as my muse and co-traveller in creativity is improving us both (mutually) in leaps and bounds. I rarely use Facebook, preferring Instagram. 02.01.2022 The last few weeks have brought some new and interesting challenges into the business. Notwithstanding having time away for surgery working on the administration behind the business seems never ending. Then there is always stuff to be done around home, not including work. Who doesnt love this time of the year preparing for Tax!... I have spoken to a number of other business owners of recent, new and old and we all share the same feeling at times - just wanting to give up, surely it can be easier not working 24/7 on or within the business. That is when this quote becomes so important - remember why you started! There will be detractors, financial hurdles, things to overcome, as long as you retain your enthusiasm and know why you stated I feel you can overcome anything. Thoughts?
