24.01.2022 A wonderful story about a friend of my mum's.

23.01.2022 One for those in and around Ballina https://m.facebook.com/events/198912147920145?view=permalink&id=312937823184243

23.01.2022 Oh my goodness this was a delicious breakfast, and so simple! Yesterday I got a delivery from Paleo Beef Direct and part of my order was a ham. It came with skin which I cut off and popped in the airfryer to crisp up. Fried an egg from one of my chooks and voilà, delicious, nutritious and crunchy breakfast. What did you have?... #crackling #pastureraised #ketobreakfast See more

22.01.2022 Very well said. Scared of Covid? Getting healthier your best protection

22.01.2022 If you've been meaning to come and have a chat at Motivation Mondays in Ballina, tomorrow night will be the last before the school holidays. 18.01.2022 Read that again and then look at the date it was written... 1857!!! So long ago we were on the right track and then it all got thrown out the window. It's time to get back to those ideas and take control of the sugar craver within us. Are you ready to make a change? #quitsugar #healthyeating #emotionaleating

17.01.2022 Just because something is marked sugar free doesn't automatically mean it's healthy or necessarily low in carbs. This cake mix is definitely lower in carbs than your average cake mix, but it's still quite high. 14 grams per piece of cake. You have to read ingredients and look at the nutritional panel. There are lots of marketing gimmicks out there designed to sell a product to you, banking on the fact you won't really look at all the information. If you really want a treat... then I highly recommend making your own from scratch. Then you know exactly what goes into it. But if you want a shortcut, there are still options, you just have to be careful. Scroll to the second image to see a better choice. Both of these are off the shelf at my local health food store. I also want to point out that although in this case it's fine, don't always trust the word "keto" on food packaging either. A food manufacturers idea of what keto is could be very different to yours. Reading labels is so important, no matter what you're buying. I had a curry paste I was buying for a while and although I'd read the ingredients list when I first bought it, at some point they started adding sugar! #cake #sugarfree #ketocake See more

15.01.2022 Wow, thanks Renae! Such a beautiful testimonial. You've done fantastic work and I'm so pleased to see the results of your efforts. #ilovemyjob #results #testimonial

15.01.2022 A great visual reminder. An important note is that the protein in meat is also more bio-available (easily accessed by the body)

15.01.2022 If at first you don't succeed try, try again. I was raised with all sorts of mantras like this. And you know what? They really do help. One of my dad's favourites is "This too will pass". And anytime I'm having a rough patch I can hear those words and it's a good reminder. Because every time I've been going through a difficult time, it has eventually passed. So don't feel bad if you don't succeed with dietary and lifestyle changes at first. Every step forward is a step tow...ards success! What's one of those motivational sayings that play in your head? 15.01.2022 I've seen this be raised as an issue also with kids on a ketogenic diet to manage their epilepsy. Feed the children a well formulated ketogenic diet and this does not happen. Do you have kids who are thriving on a low carb diet?

14.01.2022 Enunciation is so important. Play with sound

14.01.2022 Music as therapy. I wish it was used more "Last year England’s Health Secretary said dance sessions should be prescribed to more dementia patients, to prevent ‘over-medicalised’ treatment. A study found that giving patients personal music playlists resulted in a 60 per cent reduction in the need for medication."

10.01.2022 I'd estimate that 99% of people today eat more sugar than they think. If you were to really count your intake, you'd probably be shocked. Remember that this dia...gram counts ADDED sugar. Sugars consumed all amount to sugar broken down in the body. Every teaspoon of sugar you eat has a cost. Besides being a driver behind other chronic health conditions like diabetes and heart disease, sugar consumption affects your body's ability to fight off viruses or other infections in the body. You know how your body needs certain cells to fight off infections? Sugar affects the immune systems ability to fight infections. Sugar literally 'gums' your immune system up. White blood cells, also known as "killer cells," are highly affected by sugar consumption Sugar hinders the immune system since, according to a study done on fruit flies, the white blood cells are not able to do their job and destroy bad bacteria or viruses as well as when someone does not eat sugar Studies showed that high blood sugar affects infection-fighting mechanisms in diabetics. High-sugar diets are linked to Type 2 diabetes since high sugar consumption can lead to diabetes -- a condition that in particular is associated with a higher risk of serious complications from respiratory infections. Consuming 75 to 100 grams of a sugar solution can hinder the body’s immune functions. 75 grams sound like a lot, and it’s hard to think you may be consuming 75 grams of sugar, but really all it is is the equivalent of two cans of your soda. A 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola contains 39g. A grande chai latte from Starbucks, for example, contains 42 grams of sugar, which gets you more than halfway to lowering your immunity. Suppression of the immune system starts as soon as 30 minutes after the consumption of sugar and can last up to five hours. How many teaspoons do you eat?

10.01.2022 A great place to start if you haven't tried intermittent fasting yet. Have you tried it? #intermittentfasting #reversediabetes #nutritiontips

07.01.2022 Nutrition shouldn't be something we fight over, any more than religion should. Just because someone finds that eating mostly meat makes them feel good, does not mean you need to lecture them on the importance of eating a lot of vegetables, just because that's what makes you feel the best. And vice versa. We are all different. What works for one person may not work so well for another. It can be easy to fall into the trap of discovering something that works for you and want...ing to share that great feeling of health you've discovered by insisting it's how others should eat too. I have been guilty of this in the past. I just wanted everyone to feel as good as me. But it doesn't always work that way. Some people do best with a lot of vegetables, some do better with the bare minimum. And that's not set in stone either. It can change as we age, with our lifestyles and even the seasons. The important thing is to always avoid processed foods as much as you can, and listen to your body! Don't become dogmatic. Be open to learn, listen to your body. Do what works for YOUR body. If you need help, reach out. #religion #listentoyourbody #eatrealfood See more

06.01.2022 This is so interesting. I've often wondered about wrinkles, and how much we should wrinkle as we age vs how much we actually do. The main point from my perspective is to make sure the wrinkles you do have is from smile lines and not frown lines! Which ones do you have more of?

03.01.2022 I love seeing dramatic improvements like this. This client came to see me for help with gallstones. In less than a month she saw so much more improvement than just with gallbladder health! And the benefits are still continuing. Our bodies are amazingly powerful healers and if we give them the right environment - nutrition, sleep, movement - they can improve so much! If you'd like to find out what it's like to work with me, let's book a free discovery call. Send me a mes...sage now. #gallstones #gallbladder #gallbladderproblems See more
