12.01.2022 How to COPE with Christmas TIP #3: How to prepare if your supports are on leave: If your GP or counsellor/psychologist/psychiatrist is away over the Christmas ...period, make sure you have a plan to help you get through this time. Speak to your health professional about particular strategies you can use during the break and know who to contact in a crisis. If you take medication, make sure all your scripts are up to date and you have enough to get you through the holidays. And don’t forget to pack your medication if you’re travelling to see family. Lifeline (13 11 14) remains staffed 24/7 over the break. The Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia (PANDA) Helpline (1300 726 306) is closed on public holidays but operates between 9am 7pm, across the holiday season. Please don't suffer in silence if you find yourself struggling while your usual supports are on leave. Help is available.
