23.01.2022 Study and focus... As the kids head back to school this week I wanted to share what I’ve put together for my eldest. She’s starting year 12 and wanted a blend to help her focus while she’s studying. ... So I got out all the oils that are great for focus and asked her to pick what she felt called to... This was her selection: Lemon Wild orange Lime and Rosemary As she’ll be using it for a diffuser we made up her own blend in an old bottle so that she just needs to add a few drops to her diffuser rather than getting each bottle out every time. Aroma’s help us to recall things, memories and events. I found it very helpful in my own studies and exams last year to have my own study blend, which is why she’ll be doing the same thing. 21.01.2022 Do you make time for self care? One thing I’ve learnt over recent years is that self care is necessary.. Necessary for our mental and physical health and well-being... Necessary for us to honor ourselves Necessary for us to recharge and recover Necessary for us to have the energy and capacity to care for others Necessary for us to fully function Necessary for us to be ourselves and be present I used to think it was selfish, that I should be caring for others before myself... BUT... I’ve found caring for myself actually puts me in a better position to care for others as I’m not running on empty. My favorite self care practices often include my oils and journaling. 14.01.2022 Very excited to be back after an unintended break Do you find sometimes the universe forces you stop and pay attention to its message? Sometimes we plan things and they just don’t pan out the way we thought. I used to get annoyed when this happened, but I’ve come to realize there’s usually a good reason for it.... Take my holiday... I’d planned to jump in and continue to post regularly BUT the internet access just wasn’t up to scratch. So I went with the flow and took the break that the universe was telling me I needed Sometimes our self care comes about without intention. This was one of those times for me because little did I know I’d have a new job to start the day after we got home! 10.01.2022 Do you have a favorite diffuser blend for your workspace? Motivate tends to be in many of my work blends due to the aromas of mint and citrus. The mint helps me stay alert and focused, especially while I’m on the computer all day, and the citrus tones keep me uplifted and energized. I also added Citrus Bliss today to enhance the effects of the citrus and because they smell so good together



07.01.2022 It’s ok to set your boundaries and say no! Yep you read that right, IT’S OK TO SAY NO So often we want to say no, but say yes. Usually it’s because we want to help, we feel like we can’t say no or we feel bad saying no. ... BUT what if you flipped the thinking and thought that saying yes to someone else was actually meaning you saying no to yourself and your own needs... Would you still say yes? It’s ok to set your boundaries and know when you need to say no. Personally I learnt this lesson the hard way by taking on too much and not looking after me. I was doing things for others and taking on too much, literally to the detriment of my own health. If you’re finding it difficult to set boundaries or you need extra support, reach for your tea tree oil. 06.01.2022 Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with back to school labeling? I love it as it means it’s the day before school goes back But damn I hate the labeling process! It seems to take forever lol ... I did cheat this year and ordered labels from @hippoblue to make it easier. I love how the kids can design their own label with various designs and fonts available. On the plus side it’s the first time in about 8 years that I’ve only had one set of books to label so that’s a win! #backtoschool #labeling #notmyfavoritejob #empoweringbalancewithsallytaylor

02.01.2022 Ok so I’m clearly not a food photographer But I wanted to show you a snippet of what I got up to today. I used to love cooking, creating new recipes with whatever I had on hand and stocking up the freezer and cupboards with delicious healthy foods.... BUT the last few years life just got in the way and I didn’t have the time spare to be able to spend hours playing in the kitchen. The other day in the midst of a conversation cooking was mentioned and it made me reflect on how much I love to cook and play around with food. So today I played around with some new recipes I’d come across and made mushroom risotto, chickpea and veggie biryani, healthy gluten free apple and cinnamon muffins and healthy gluten free peanut butter cookies This pic is only a small portion of what was made and dosn’t show just how delicious it all is.
