She loves the English language and is a very dedicated, beautiful teacher. We love you Mrs Benfer! WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?... Brisbane and it is beautiful. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT TEACHING AT EMPOWERING LIVES? There is so much to like about teaching at Empowering Lives! Firstly, Kylie - our amazing founder of EL is truly inspirational and an incredibly hard working, dedicated and passionate boss. The other teachers are all so kind and wonderful people - it’s a joy to work with them. Our students' happy faces (usually) and their excitement when they reach their goals is honey for my soul! WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE YOU HAVE TRAVELLED TO? This is a tough one as there are so many beautiful places in the world. I loved the six weeks my husband and I spent travelling around France so it would be the top of my list. NAME ONE PERSON YOU ADMIRE AND WHY? I can’t name only one person as all those millions, around the globe, who value and practice kindness and compassion to others have my admiration and fill me with joy. TELL US A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU THAT NO ONE KNOWS? When I was twelve, I danced in The Nutcracker Suite with the Australian Ballet company. WHAT IS THE SCARIEST THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE? First one we would like to introduce is Kylie Ransley who is the founder of Empowering Lives and one of the Arrowsmith teachers. Where did you grow up? In Townsville. It is very hot up in North Queensland! ... What do you like about teaching at Empowering Lives? I love seeing students who come to us struggling and not believing in themselves to leaving us as confident students who are achieving their dreams. I wholeheartedly love being a small part of changing lives! Name one person you admire and why? There are so many people I admire and can't just list one! My parents have had a big influence in my life and I am who I am today because of their love and support through so many hard times. I really honour them for their unconditional love. Even with setting up Empowering Lives, my family have been a big support in my dream to help bring the Arrowsmith program to Brisbane. I admire Barbara Arrowsmith-Young for her dedication, her passion and being a pioneer in this field when no one else believed in it. I admire every student that does the program as they work incredibly hard. Tell us a fun fact about you that no one knows? I have an identical twin sister and people still get us mixed up! What's the scariest thing you've ever done? Sky diving!
