25.01.2022 T W E N T Y F O U R Lessons I’ve learnt in the last year Drop expectations of those around me... You can’t help others unless they want to help themselves Relationships can be hard, but always worth it Whatever makes you feel uncomfortable, do that Choose to love. Every. Single. Time. Bring on the adventures of being 24 See more

25.01.2022 Setting non-negotiables for your day is crucial, especially when it comes to building empowerment within yourself! Have a list written down where you have non-negotiables for your day. This will help build consistency with your routine to achieve your goals! What are some non-negotiables you currently do or could implement into your daily routine?

23.01.2022 This week I made a conscious decision to give myself an hour in the morning of going through a yoga flow, meditating and journaling. In our first few minutes of waking up, our brain and mind are most receptive to influence and our brain is highly neuroplastic during this time. Meaning, it can readily form new neural pathways based on what you feed it. I’m already noticing what a huge difference it’s had on my mind considering I’ve been ‘feeding’ it differently. Rather tha...n using social media as a way of waking up, I’ve been feeling more energetic due to being mindful and allowing myself that time, for me. Our brains are this brilliant work of art which honestly I’ve only truly come to appreciate in the last couple of months. Start your day with a good feeding source for your brain it will impact the way you think and feel drastically See more

22.01.2022 3 years ago I joined a small gym on my own with the goal of losing weight. 3 years ago, I used to use exercise as a form of punishment because I hated who I was. 3 years ago I filled my mind with self-hatred about myself and my body.... Today, I now understand how incredible exercise is. Today, I now move my body because I love it. Today, I don’t care if I weight 100kgs or 50kgs, I want to be healthy, happy and as pain-free, as I can. Movement of your body isn’t about punishing yourself because you hate yourself. It’s about nourishing you’re mind, body and soul. Learning to love movement may take time, it did for me. And not every day is perfect. But showing up and trying is all you need to do. Make moving your body a ritual. Like brushing your teeth. Find someone you enjoy doing and stick with it. Our bodies are so goddam incredible. It took me my whole life to see that, but now I know. And you deserve to know too See more

21.01.2022 Today I feel so grateful. Grateful for sunset bike rides Grateful to live in Brisbane Grateful for my health Grateful for down time ... Grateful for my family and friend Grateful for being alive I never cherished alone time, meditation and nature more in my entire life See more

21.01.2022 Growing up, I really struggled at school. I struggled with how I looked, how I felt and overall who I was. I would constantly compare my body to others and my identity seemed to be solely based around being the ‘overweight’ girl. School was all about trying to fit in. To feel accepted. Though I wish I knew then that all I needed was love be and accept myself. Not waiting to be accepted by those around me. Unfortunately, school doesn’t teach us how to appreciate who we are ...and how to build our self-confidence. This now has become my passion. To help educate women on how they can feel empowered within themselves and ultimately embrace their mind, body and entire soul. There are many exciting things we go through at Empower Performance to do just that. So if you’re interested in knowing how, I’d love to hear from you. There are numerous things I do daily to fill my own self-confidence cup. One is practicing gratitude each morning, why? Because it can boost your happiness by up to 25%. This can be done by journaling, visualising or even drawing things out. What are some things you do to improve your self-confidence? See more

17.01.2022 I’m slowly learning that appreciating who you are in a lifestyle journey. It’s not about the destination, it’s about taking it day by day and learning to love yourself that little bit more as well go along. I believe it’s also important to show up for yourself each day, even when you don’t want to. It’s about accountability, but rather than waiting for others to hold you accountable, hold yourself accountable. Show up for yourself any day. Because YOU deserve it. And remember, you are already beautiful. You don’t need to be anyone else.

16.01.2022 Today I went on a date... With myself. To Stradbroke Island. I wrote up an itinerary, packed my swimmers and a picnic and off I went. When I arrived I put my phone on aeroplane mode and started my adventure. I whale watched ... Swam in the ocean Journaled Walked through the beautiful nature Chatted to the locals Enjoyed my lunch at point lookout And ate some gelato without feeling guilty about it It was the most peaceful day I’ve had in a long time. As I sat on the rocks watching the whales frolicking, I was reflecting on how crucial it really is to treat myself the way I would treat someone I love. How crucial it is to talk to myself with kindness, compassion and love. I’m going to keep dating myself and it may not be perfect, but I’m not supposed to be perfect and that’s okay with me. Take yourself on some dates, beauty is you can literally do whatever the hell you want! And each day, speak to yourself the way you would speak to someone you love @ Stradbroke Island See more

13.01.2022 Adios Sydney Luckily for me, I have the amazing opportunity of heading to Brisbane and working for the incredible team at @musclenerds_health as a trainer at their new facility @institute_of_physical_culture What they don’t tell you about moving cities is that you’re not as tough as you think, saying goodbye to the beaches, my family and friends have been so much harder than I thought ... Though I know the magic always happens outside our comfort zones and I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this new journey! To my friends, please go visit my mum. Though she always preached ‘24 and out the door’ she’s going to miss me more than I’m going to miss her @lukeleaman and @knightzoe, I’m coming for you! See more

12.01.2022 Choose you. Every time. Often we wait for opportunities, wait for people, wait for dishes to be done or our business to grow. I’ve often found myself waiting for the approval of others and even waited for an opportunity to come along. The fact is, life doesn’t work that way. Instead, choose what you want to do, go out there and make it happen. And do this without waiting for the approval of those around you. There is going to be critics who tell you you can’t, there i...s going to be that little voice inside your head telling you it’s not worth it. But how does anyone know and more so, how do you know? You haven’t even tried yet. So my Sunday night reminder to you is, be bold, be brave and choose you. Make your own choices and stop waiting around. Life’s too short. If you feel nobody is there to cheer you on, shoot me a message and I’ll be there to support you. You’ve got this, believe in yourself See more

12.01.2022 Small progress in the right direction, is still progress Before I share ways in which I like to track progress, I want to also note that while tracking progress is important, we don’t want to overdo it and obsess over numbers and metrics. Pick a few and find what works for you! Have you ever been notorious for only using the scales? ... Have you though that if the number is getting lower then you’re obviously not progressing? Luckily for us, times have changed and there are many ways to see if you truly are making progress. Here are some variables I like to get my clients to keep track of: Resting heart rate Energy levels Sleep patterns Body measurements Blood pressure Stress levels To see the overall health and fitness improvements, the scales aren’t enough (though they are still a tool we can use) See more

11.01.2022 As humans, it’s natural to want a quick fix. Whether it be from finding the quickest way to build your business, the fastest way to lose weight or trying to find the quickest way to eternal happiness. Quick fixes are all too popular. The harsh reality? They won’t bring a strong business, sustainable weight-loss or eternal happiness. The thing about your health and fitness goals are that it's very unlikely a 4-week detox or 8 week challenge will have you making sustainable... changes in your life. When you really want to build a stronger, healthier and happier lifestyle, it takes TIME. If you want to improve your sleep, lower stress, reduce risk of disease, lose weight, gain muscle and truly embrace who you are, trust the process. Your health is more than a $12 program or $20 detox. Your health isn’t a cheap sale, it’s priceless. So take care of you, trust the process because you too, are priceless See more

08.01.2022 Since moving cities I have been experiencing a whirlwind of emotions. I’ve gone from loving it one moment, to having panic attacks the next. I’ve been second-guessing myself and nearly packing my things to move back home. Luckily though, I’ve got incredible support behind me and this little voice inside my head telling me ‘choose courage over comfort’. The voice of Brene Brown. ... In all of this, I’ve realised these emotions and experiences is part of being human. What they don’t tell you about life is, nothing is or will be perfect. Nor should it be. I mean if it was, we’d never grow. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt so far is to not give up on myself, no matter how damn hard things may be. So let this be a little voice telling you to not give up, to be compassionate to yourself and keep going. Feel what you need to feel and take every day as it comes. Choose courage over comfort See more

07.01.2022 Do you have an internal voice telling you that training in the gym is scary? That you could never step foot in there alone? The gym is often seen as an intimidating place to be, but what if I told you, you can change that just by shifting your perspective? Our brain doesn’t know the difference between what we tell it and our reality. Similar to the ‘think red see red’ analogy, if you tell yourself the gym is an intimidating place to be, then that will become true. There a...re many reasons to enjoy the gym, my personal favourite? Lifting weights in the gym builds psychological empowerment and resilience by proving one's own strength. You’re probably thinking ‘this chick is a massive gym junkie’ and though you’re right, I am also a self-empowerment junkie! Feeling empowered within who you are can change many areas in your life. So, with a small shift in perspective, practice and some self-belief stepping foot back into the gym will become that little bit easier. The gym is a place for mistakes, failures, growth and self-discovery. It’s a place where you can meet friends, have fun and be yourself all while achieving things you didn’t think were possible. If you want to shift your perspective on how to step foot in the gym with confidence when they open again, send me a message and we can get you loving training on your own all while building self-empowerment too! See more

07.01.2022 Movement The physical and psychological benefits of movement are endless. Though when deciding what way you want to move, choose something you enjoy. There’s no need to do something just because you’re apparently ‘supposed’ to do it. Yes, there are different benefits to conditioning vs resistance training or boxing vs dance though that doesn’t necessarily mean one is ‘better’ than the other. These different styles of movement have their own purposes. So choose something that EXCITES you. And do it for you

05.01.2022 Are you struggling with motivation? Motivation is what gets us started, consistency is what keeps us going. This statement is so true. Taking care of yourself is showing up for YOU even when you don’t feel like it. What happens in the middle part of our journey where things are going well for a few weeks then suddenly we fall back into our old habits? I’ll be sharing my thoughts on how to keep consistent with your goals tonight on my Facebook page. Keen to join? Comment your name below!

04.01.2022 GOIN FOR A STROLL Walking is such a blissful experience. Especially on a lazy Sunday morning. What's great about walking, other than the bonus's of coffee stops and puppy pats are the mental and physical health benefits. Walking is for everyone, especially if you work in a job where you sit all day. So, why should we walk and how often? Why should we walk?... - Increases your daily activity - Reduced likelihood of developing coronary heart disease - Reduces anxiety - Aids in weight-loss - May slow the process of potential osteoporosis How much should we walk? Instead of me saying "sure you aim for at least 10,000 steps a day" sometimes, that isn't feasible. However, walk as much as you can. Take 20 mins from lunch to get off the desk and go for a walk outside. Go before work, after work, bring a friend along with you, take the stairs instead of the lift, walk up and down the escalators. The options are endless and there is no excuse. My psychologist once suggestion one of the best ways to end a day is to go for a walk along the water (if that's an option), especially if you've had a bad day. Just 30 mins, along the water, as often as you can, can change the way you think, feel and ultimately live your life See more
