25.01.2022 When we're feeling bombarded by the expectations of the world, the opinions of others, and the lies of the enemy, we need to come back to the TRUTH What God has to say to us in scripture! When the world tries to speak to our identity, our abilities, our worth. We don't just sit back and give in We speak back! Just like Jesus in the wilderness, we can overcome by holding fast to the sword of scripture! Why don’t you take a couple of moments right now, to speak aloud thes...e promises God has for your life: # I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). # I receive an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. I reign in life through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). # I am being strengthened with all power according to His might. I have great endurance and patience (Colossians 1:11 NIV). # God has not given me a spirit of fear. He gives me power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7 ESV). # I generously give and abundantly receive. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over (2 Cor 9:6-11, Luke 6:38). # For I am God’s masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus, to do the good things he planned for me long ago (Ephesians 2:10 [NLT]). # See what great love the Father has lavished on me, that I should be called a child of God! You should see yourself as crucial to His cause. You should see your absence as damaging to the House and your presence as powerful. Because it is. Be reliable. Be responsible. Get a revelation o...n how much your consistent presence and load-bearing partnership counts towards the success of God’s House because it does. Pillars who bear the weight and lock immovably into position make room for God and people to connect in God’s House! But those same temple-pillars move out of position due to offence, selfishness, or laziness the roof comes crashing in. Don’t let that be said of your absence. Be in, be all in, be readily, reliably, and regularly available and together we can literally ‘raise the roof’ for the glory of God, because together we are His Temple. See more

Devoted discipline, sacrificial service, extraordinary advancements, revolutionary love these have been the qualities of God’s dedicated people throughout every generation. From the first century AD until now, the Christian Church has miraculously out-loved, out-lived, and outlasted its critics and now the baton is passed to us!!! It’s our turn to shine in the midst of our time..., to advance in the midst of our modernity, and to do so with the sober knowledge that we represent Christ Jesus who endured much for the sake of righteousness. We are mandated today to be both prayerful and powerful, both humble and heroic, both flexible and fearless, to live out loud this generational legacy of both grace AND grit because that's what Jesus displayed in His time, and that's what our world needs from us most desperately today!

18.01.2022 I believe in the Local Church I believe that it is the hope of the world. I believe that the Local Church is THE PRIMARY MEANS by which God has spread the gospel and made disciples for the last 2000 years. I believe that the health, strength, light, and ministry of a Local Church will have a direct impact on the welfare, blessing, and spiritual climate of the community in which it’s planted. I believe that better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere. I believ...e that it is genuinely better to be a doorkeeper in the House of God than to dwell in the courts of the wicked. I believe that when someone is planted with the deep roots of their time, talent and treasure in the courts of God’s House that it will have a direct bearing on their fruitfulness, faithfulness, freshness, and flourishing. I believe that people will never feel more alive, more fulfilled, more engaged with their destiny and purpose than what they do when they are in active service of Christ and his Church. Like Jesus, we are called to be involved in our Father’s business... that’s what Jesus said: I must be about my Father’s business and the Father’s business is the Church which is built on the foundation and cornerstone of Jesus. There is NOTHING more important happening on the planet than what Jesus is doing in and through local churches. And so, it is our immense joy and sincere privilege to be fully devoted followers of Christ and servants of the Local Church in which He has planted us.

And no matter what Sunday meetings look like, we are called to stand together as sons and daughters of God, being the hands-and-feet of Jesus in our community, prayer warriors in the secret place, and beacons of light and salvation wherever we go.

17.01.2022 As disciples of Christ, we are called to be in the world, but not of the world. Which means we do not dance to the tune of our time, nor succumb to the worldly standards that surround us. As Christians, we are called to be walking billboards of righteousness. Visible markers of right living, standard bearers, example setters, cross carriers, sanctified ones. Which means growing in godliness, living in God’s light and rightly representing heaven for our hell-effected world. T...his is not haughtiness, it’s holiness. It’s living a loving and generous life that beacons those around us closer to Christ. To be ‘HOLY’ is to be 'WHOLLY’ sold out for the cause of Christ, and committed to receiving His ‘WHOLENESS’ in our lives. Thereby exampling that in Him there ARE answers, there IS healing, freedom IS possible, no matter what hell may throw our way. Prayer, Love, Generosity, Kindness, Sacrifice, Forgiveness, Devotion, Witness These are the Habits of Holiness that our world sorely needs from us today.

16.01.2022 (John 14:16-17, 26; Romans 8:5-6, 15-16, 26,27) Isn’t it incredible that the third person of the Trinity, the Spirit of God, our Comforter, Helper, Advocate and Guide could have made Himself known by any number of prefixes? He could have introduced Himself as the Mercy Spirit, the Grace Spirit, the Power Spirit, the Love Spirit... but that’s not His primary name, nor His primary function. He is the HOLY SPIRIT... and he has been sent to walk with us, talk with us, lead us ...and guide us into becoming more like Himself. Holy. The greatest tip that there is to walk in higher holiness is to walk with the Holy Spirit. Your friends are a photo of your future... who you hang around is who you’ll become like. And Holy Spirit is the Greatest ever-abiding Friend we could ever have, and walking in close abiding relationship with Him is the greatest key to higher holiness that there is. Let Him guide you, love you, speak to you, and correct you, for the impact of His friendship in our lives will keep our heart soft, our faith strong, our prayer-life sharp, our revelation frequent and our joy full. Walk with Him today and watch and see as He leads you into more of Himself holiness.

He will do it again. Lift up your eyes. Lift up your voice. Praise His name. Pray for His Kingdom Come and will be done. Stand firm in your faith and watch as God comes through with His miraculous promises and provision once again. God is Able. With Him you have everything you need.

That’s how prized both your heavenly eternity and earthly destiny are to Father God. He cherishes you as His treasured child. So don't give up! He’s right by your side - whispering... guiding... convicting... assuring... - all to reassure and remind you, child of God, that who you are and what you do matters greatly to Him.

12.01.2022 Yes, as Aussies, we often show affection by talking smack with one another in fun, laughing and paying each other out in playful jest. When done well, this innocent playfulness is endearing. But the truth is, if we’re honest, too much of this can hurt hearts, make people feel unsafe or disrespected and ultimately result in driving away the people that we are called to reach. Whereas kindness, politeness, encouragement and love always win the day with others. Civility, maturi...ty, respect, honour these relational skills act as healing balm and temperate gifts of kindness. And gifts make way for givers ushering us into the trust of people’s hearts. Rudeness, ugliness, gruffness and vindictiveness are never reflections of the kindness of King Jesus. May we never forget in our relational interactions that we are no longer careless free agents of carnality, but rather have been recruited by God’s Grace to be His ambassadors of love. May we up-skill our conversations and increase in grace towards people for our efforts in this area can be the difference between Christ’s Church sounding gracious or grinding, obliging or obnoxious, courteous or careless. Every person is valuable to God and worthy of our care, and any efforts made in this area to become proficient, more effective, more artful, more life-giving and in our dealings with people will lead us to better representing the kindness of our King. The practice of politeness progresses our people skills, and that is a worthy pursuit indeed for people are the prize Christ cherishes above all else on earth.

12.01.2022 What would happen if we wore the same socks, undies and outfit and didn’t physically wash for 3 days? Can we suggest... Nothing good! It wouldn’t be pretty. For any of us. Suddenly, not so subtle hints of deodorant brands would be dropped into conversations around us. Our friends would suddenly be more motivated to keep their ‘social distance.’ Shopping clerks would spray air freshener on our departure from their stores. Why? Because without regular washing, our flesh starts... to smell. As followers of Christ, we are called to be ‘washed’ regularly with the ‘water’ of God’s Word (Eph 5:25-27). The physical and spiritual parallels for this are self-evident... If we go three days without reading and being washed by the water of God’s Word... our flesh starts to smell, our attitude starts to stink, our reactions get sharper, faith wanes, fear increases and our appetite for the ungodly suddenly spikes. There are bursts of anger, more coarse language, an off-colour joke pops out that we wouldn’t normally entertain, and our closest relationship begin to become strained... why? Because we haven’t washed. God’s Word needs to be like that in our lives, as frequently as we wash ourselves, as often as we drink and hydrate our bodies. The more time and frequency and regularity with which we read the Word, meditate on the Word, and become washed by the Word the cleaner and holier and more truly we will be empowered to carry the refreshing fragrance of heaven into our world.

11.01.2022 Keep climbing. Don’t give up. Yes, the mountainous terrain of destiny before you has both howling peaks and deepest valleys. Yes, this journey called ‘life’ at times has seasons of struggle, peril and challenge. ... But, with God, you are more than enough. The path before you won’t be your undoing, through Christ’s power it will be your making, your strengthening, your providence, your date with destiny. Keep climbing. Keep believing. Keep praising. This is your adventure story. This is the part where you endure the elements, brave the waves, slay your giants and emerge with a testimony tale of God’s faithfulness and your victory.

Able and willing to intervene Jesus showed us the nature of Father God through His ministry and message: I am willing, be healed. And He HASN’T changed His mind!!! He is consistent in His nature, unchanging in His heart of love and power towards us. How reassuring it is to know that the One we serve is not arbitrary in His judgements or inconsistent in His actions. No, He is faithful. And we can be confident in His covenant promises towards us. He is Able, AND He is willing. In His name today, position your heart to receive what He has for you!

Who needs your love?... Who can you reach out to this week? We, God’s people, can take this opportunity right now to shine our light, share God’s love, and do good to others. Because it’s the perfect love of God that drives out all fear! Our world needs what we’ve found in Jesus. Share the good news child of God!

06.01.2022 From the highest mountain to the greatest depth, He is there. No matter the how low or high you might be feeling right now, no matter how far you've followed or wandered from His plan, He is there. He is pursuing you every single day, with His right hand of grace, of mercy and of protection, waiting to lift you back up. Not because of anything we’ve done to be deserving, but solely because of WHO HE IS.... A God who is persistently present, graciously good, and covenantally committed... to YOU.

06.01.2022 As believers, if we see ourselves us wretched, unworthy, rejected, excluded... then we will act out of that identity in survival mode and self-loathing. BUT, if we see ourselves as forgiven, sanctified, the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, brought near by the blood of the Lamb then we will be free to start living in Christ’s confidence (1 John 2:6, John 17:18). Self-perception is CRUCIALLY important, because our identity determines our behaviour... Are you a washed u...p waste of time? Are you a lost cause? Or are you a King’s Kid, highly favoured, a cherished part of God’s royal family?? That’s up to each of us to decide. We choose to either accept God’s acceptance of us, or not! May those of us in Christ embrace the liberating love that scripture says is ours! For in doing so we reject a self-sabotaging sense of identity-image that causes us to shoot lower, expect less, and settle for sloppy living when our God has called us higher holiness in Him! We are His special possession, we are His treasure worth dying for, we are His child worth fighting for, we are kings and priests made righteous in His sight, His highly favoured family of faith! This sort of identity-image changes everything, because it frees us to start acting according to what God says! Accept your acceptance today!!!

04.01.2022 There's a reason the Israelites built stone memorials on sites where God performed the miraculous. Jacob Built a memorial at Bethel after God gave him his identity-shaping dream. The Exiled Isrealites build a memorial after miraculously crossing the Jordan. Joshua built a memorial when God renewed His covenant with His people.... It's so that in times of trial, when they were faced with insurmountable odds, or an undefeatable army, they could turn their eyes to the rock-solid reminders all around them that God has come through for them in the past. In the same way for us, when we're lost, and up against the impossible, we must remind ourselves of the times that God has come through Of those miracle moments when He has overcome despite the odds. He's done it before, and He can do it again!

But I am with you and for you and working behind the scenes in ways that you’re not aware of positioning things, providing things, readying things for your next arrival. It’s going to be good. 04.01.2022 On four occasions after the Resurrection, Jesus greeted His disciples with Peace be with you! And each time the salutation ends with an exclamation mark!... Could it be that the peace of Christ is not a hope, or a desire for His followers? But that it's actually a directive? We might look at that and say: How can Jesus direct me to have Peace? Doesn't He know I've lost my Job? Doesn't He understand the heartbreak I'm facing? Hasn't He seen the diagnosis? To the contrary, He knows, and He understand better than anyone. Rather, it's that true peace doesn't flow from our circumstances, or lack of obstacles, but from Christ ALONE. The peace He offers transcends understanding. It transcends situation. Because Peace is a Person. One that we have walking by our side every moment of every day. No matter what's going on. So whatever your life looks like right now, let Peace wash over you, as we press into Jesus Our Peace.

04.01.2022 (Forgive us for the attention-grabbing title... but there’s a truth to be discovered here!) As children of Heaven we are called to both love what God loves AND hate what He hates! If we want to truly grow into His holiness then it’s important that we adopt His hatred of sin. Because we will never overcome a vice we don’t see as vile. We will never beat a habit we don’t hate. As disciples of Christ, as agents of righteousness and holiness, we shouldn’t be playing patty-cak...e with our enemy! Spiritual serpents aren’t for cuddling, and sin shouldn’t ever be seen as cute. Instead we need look at it from God’s perspective and see sin as the... SOUL-DESTROYING MIND-DECAYING POTENTIAL-STUNTING DESTINY-DERAILING HOME-WRECKING STRENGTH-ROBBING RELATIONSHIP-DAMAGING HELL-INVITING ...evil that it truly is... Because when we see sin like that, it will cause us... to be repulsed by the things we used to relish in, to be turned off by what we used to find tempting, and to be rightly angered by what used to have our affection. Yes, it sounds strange, but to hate what heaven hates is to be empowered towards a whole new level of freedom, holiness, victory, and Christian zeal.

03.01.2022 Christ’s Great Commission to GO and make disciples is not a calling for some, but a mandate for all. ALL of us are called to participate in Christ’s commission. ALL of us are called to share our faith, pray for people, love those around us and watch for opportunities to invite people to take a step closer to faith in Christ. This is good news for us, because it means we don’t necessarily have to travel abroad internationally to be a ‘missionary’ for Jesus. Rather, by embracin...g a ‘missionary mindset’ in the everyday rhythms of people and places we already interact with, we are immediately activated to ‘GO’ for God TODAY with a renewed sense of purpose, ministry and zeal. Teacher, that school class is your mission field! Nurse, those patients are your mission field! Mums and Dads, that workplace and those children are your mission field! Christian, that neighbourhood and those social media connections ARE your mission field! Simply ‘GO’ wherever you are today with God’s love in your heart, His Kingdom in your conduct and with eyes open to see the fields of opportunity that surround us daily. This kind of ‘missionary mindset’ changes what could otherwise feel like daily drudgery into our divine destiny adventure!

03.01.2022 Whilst on the one hand holiness means something sacred, sanctified, and consecrated, it also refers to God’s wholeness, His completeness, His soundness, His need for nothing His divine perfection in relationship with Himself. So, yes - God’s call to be ‘Holy as He is Holy’ is a call to sanctification and consecration but it is also a call to being whole, to being complete in Christ, to doing the work in prayer of dealing with strongholds, soul-wounds, or trauma from the p...ast that will potentially undermine our ministry or integrity. ‘Leaky Soul Syndrome’ is where we internally seep strength, because of a deep-seated rejection, offence, emotional wound, or idol that has enslaved some part of our character or belief systems; causing our strength to buckle when pressure is applied. If we identify an area like that... the good news is that we don’t have to live out the rest of our days internally haemorrhaging with ‘Leaky Soul Syndrome’. We can and should be free, we can and should be whole, we can and should be healed, fortified and strong. For the power of the cross is enough to heal every hurt. Corrie ten Boom defined worry as ‘a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a centre of fear’. That’s a great picture because the presence of a whirlpool points to the fact that there’s a hole beneath the surface. Through the power of Christ, if we bring holiness and healing to our ‘holes’ if we plug the ‘Leaky Soul Syndrome’ through the power of the cross then the whirlpool and chaos of unholy behaviours will cease. There’s peace, order, calm and wholeness found in holiness today.

03.01.2022 Empower Church is called to have a prophetic, breakthrough, spirit-life edge in its prayers, service and culture. We are thermostats of spiritual temperature, we lift His name over our land and expect that people WILL be drawn to Discover Jesus as a result. That’s who we are... and that spiritual DNA will never be shaken from us. Therefore, we cultivate a prophetic edge to our prayer, service and ministry, because we expect our invisible and yet palpable spirit of faith to c...ut through the heaviness of a spiritual realm that would otherwise seek to lull us into lethargy, religiosity, and ineffectiveness. We ensure that our prayers are prophetic in that they praise and declare and make room for God’s presence and power in our midst. By faith we access heaven. By faith we access God. For it is our prophetic edge that brings all kinds of breakthrough. Don’t just pray. Pray with a prophetic edge. Get a breakthrough spirit on what you do, get something of the sword and shield and strength of God’s armour on what you do because that’s how we drive out darkness and bring God’s Kingdom into our midst.

02.01.2022 The word ‘impact’ seems to be one of the go-to words for media presenters currently. We hear statements describing the impact that the Corona virus has had on the property market... or the impact the bushfires has had on effected towns. To ‘impact’ something is to forcibly influence or strongly effect it in either a positive or negative way. Thankfully, God’s people are never called to be mere victims of external circumstance blown about by the spiralling conditions that... surround us. On the contrary, through prayers offered in faith, Christ has called us to ‘speak to our mountains’ and declare God’s word and will, for in doing so we minimise the influence of hell and maximise the IMPACT of God’s kingdom on the world around us. Pray no small prayers today, because your prayers have power. Speak no idle words of unbelief today, because your words are weapons. Voice no vain confession today, because your voice is called to release victory, in Jesus mighty name. Our intercessions are intended to make a divine and lasting IMPACT, for Christ’s Kingdom! Our intercessions IMPACT our church, families and community with God’s love & promises. Our intercessions IMPACT local and national government with divine wisdom and godly leadership. Our intercessions IMPACT the enemy as we rise up in Christ and take hold of our spiritual weapons to fight the good fight. Make no mistake about it today, our prayerful intercessions have IMPACT on the world around us for God and His Kingdom!
