19.01.2022 Whether you are working from home or passing time and staying snug in front of the TV, like most of us you may be finding yourself spending more time in front of screens! Its as important as ever to ensure youre looking after your eyes, and there are a range of reasons why you might experience dry eyes over your lifetime. Environmental factors like dry air, wind and dust, and some medical conditions and medicines can all cause dry eyes*. As you grow older, tear production i...n your eyes also slows down, leading to a less moist environment for your eyes. Of course, another common cause is sitting in front of your computer screen or tv for too long! More often than not, these factors are unavoidable, and you may end up with dry eyes. Treatment options are available! For mild to moderate dry eyes, a lubricating eye drop like HYLO-Fresh may help. They work to refresh the eyes, restoring moisture and relieving the symptoms of ocular discomfort. How do I use eye drops? If you aren't already using contact lenses or eye drops, putting something purposely in your eyes can be intimidating to start. However, once you have the proper technique down pat, eye drops can very simply provide you much needed relief from dry eyes! 1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, and dry with a clean towel or paper towel. 2. Tilt your head back or lie down flat on your back. Pull your lower eyelid down with your finger to make a pocket the eye drop will go in. 3. Hold the bottle over your eye, with the dropper tip facing down. Rest your wrist on your forehead if you need stability. Look up, and squeeze one drop into the pocket. 4. Gently close your eye, and lightly press on the inside corner of your eye to prevent the eye drop from draining. Always read the instructions on the eye drops, and you can visit this link to learn more about applying them. If you struggle with dry eyes, come in and have a chat to our team today!

Binning or flushing these medicines is dangerous to others and harms the environment, so always return them to a pharmacy.
