25.01.2022 Bigger Tax Refund. If the tax cut legislation passes, you could end up getting up to $1000 extra in your refund. The amount you get will depend upon your earnings and tax rate. 18.01.2022 Tax time is here again. To ensure you get the correct refund promptly you need to have all your documents ready: 1. Get payment summaries from all the places you have worked. Send them an email now so that your past employers can email the payment summary to you. 2. Get all you receipts together and total it up for separate deductions - total of each of clothing, training, tools etc.... 3. Private health insurance tax statement - would be sent to you by email. 4. Any other income like bank interest, dividends needs to be declared. 5. If you are with CFMEU, ensure that you have your union statement from them including any deductions for income protection insurance. 17.01.2022 In the 201819 Federal budget, the Australian Government introduced a number of new tax measures as part of the Personal Income Tax Plan. The new measures include: A new low and middle income tax offset to provide immediate tax relief of up to $530. ... Increases to income tax rate thresholds over the next seven years. These will mean Australian individual taxpayers pay less tax. The first change took effect on 1 July 2018 and there will be future changes in 202223 and 202425, to ensure that more of you stay in the 32.5% tax bracket. A reduction in the number of tax brackets in 202425, to simplify the tax system. It will move from five tax brackets to four.

From 1 July 2018, a Low and Middle Income Tax Offset, a non-refundable tax offset of up to $530 will be introduced. Australian resident individuals with income not exceeding $125,333 will be entitled to the offset in part or full, depending on their income From 1 July 2022, the Low and Middle Income Tax Offset and the Low Income Tax Offset will be replaced by a new low income tax offset, of up to $645. Taxpayers earning not more than $37,000 will be entitled to the full offset , while it will be reduced for income above that amount and taper out at $66,667 From 1 July 2022, the thresholds for the 32.5 per cent tax rate will increased from $37,000 to $90,000, to $41,000 to $120,000 From 1 July 2024, the threshold for the 32.5 per cent tax rate will be further increased to $200,000 from $120,000, removing the 37 per cent tax rate. The top marginal rate of 45 cents (excluding the Medicare Levy) will commence at $200,001
