19.01.2022 CAN ALL MY FRIENDS & FAMILY LIKE & SHARE THIS STATUS AS TIGER AIRWAYS IS CHOOSING TO IGNORE MY COMPLAINT. This is the letter I sent Tiger Airways 2 weeks ago ab...out how I was treated at Melbourne Airport. Please take the time to read and pass on because this should not be happening. I know its long so I thank you for taking the time to read. To Tiger Airways Customer Complaints. I am writing you this letter to outline my disgust at how I was treated & the discrimination shown by your check in staff & also management at Melbourne Airport. First of all I will outline my disability then I will go through what I was subjected to by your staff and because of there actions how my birthday trip was ruined. Yes I have a disability which consists of my left arm missing from 25-20cm below my elbow, my right leg is missing a FOOT only and I only have half a foot on my left side, now because of this I wear a prosthesis on my right leg and a foot insert on my left, I do not wear one on my arm because I do not require one. I have had this disability since birth so I am very comfortable with it & hold a Victorian manual Car/Heavy Vehicle (Truck) License (NO MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED), a boat/jet ski license and a Forklift license, I am a strong and fit bloke On Friday the 22nd of March at 6:15am I proceeded to the check in counter at Tiger Airways, I showed the guy behind the counter my flight itinerary and my drivers license as per usual, he then proceeded to tell me that the seat I had booked (seat 1A) I could not sit in due to the fact it was an emergency exit row & because of my disability I could not sit there as he did not think I could operate the emergency exit, he thought I couldnt lift 40kgs to operate the emergency exit if it was required. I tried to explain to him that I booked that seat & paid extra due to the fact I required the extra leg room because of my artificial leg but he responded quite loudly with "I dont care about your leg problems, your missing arm is the problem here because you CANNOT operate the emergency exit" now he said this quite loudly & a few people looked over towards us & it made me very feel belittled and VERY EMBARRASSED (DISCRIMINATION at its highest form & the WORST case I have ever came across in all my 31 years of living). I then tried to explain to him that I have had the disability since birth & I know for a fact I can operate the emergency exit also there is 2 crew members that sit in the 2 seats right beside the emergency exit at the front of the plane & besides that I have been in the front row before with Tiger (back in 08 or 09 to the Gold Coast), also with Virgin and Qantas countless times back in 2000-2002 to Sydney so I cannot see what the problem is. He said there was nothing he could do so too bad, he either moves me into another seat or I dont fly, I then asked to see his supervisor. A few minutes later a young lady by the name of Alex the duty manager came over, he explained to her what the problem was & she agreed with him that I couldnt not sit in that seat because of the emergency exit, once again I explained to her that I booked & paid extra for that seat because I required extra leg room because of my artificial leg & also asked her what seat I should book because I need the extra leg room, but she would not listen or answer my question then said that if I was not happy to be moved then I would not be flying simple as that no ifs or buts about it, so I had no choice but to agree to the seat move because I dont want to loose the money my wife had paid for my birthday present & I really wanted to see my best mate for my birthday as I had not seen him in 3 years. I was moved to seat 3E however this was not good for me, I suffered with cramps & was really uncomfortable the whole flight to Brisbane & because of my seat being moved & me not having the extra leg room I require I then could not walk & getting off the plane was a nightmare, I was stumbling down the stairs & to walk to the terminal, I had to call my mate to come and collect me from the gate as my artificial leg was soo sore I could no longer walk on it, so my mate then had to park his car & PAY for parking so he could come in & basically carry me through the airport & out to the car in the car park, now this made me feel extremely angry & EMBARRASSED as all I should have done is walk out to the quick pick up area out the front of the Airport terminal, which I always do with no hassle NO PROBLEMS!! Now because of your staff actions in Melbourne I could not walk for the rest of the day on Friday and I was only able to walk for short periods on the Saturday so my BIRTHDAY trip was ruined as we could not do the activities my mate had planned to do for my birthday and lost a deposit for 1 activity because I could no longer do it, which in any other circumstance I would have been able to do. If I had of had that little bit of extra leg room NONE of this would have occurred, I dont require a lot of extra room just enough to move my leg a little further out from directly under my knee cap. Now what my concern is I understand there are issues when it comes to emergency exits & members of the public being able to operate them in case of an emergency ect. however sitting in seat 1A I would not have to operate the emergency exit as 1. There is a wall in front of that row of seats so i would have to wait for the 2 people beside me to exit the row first. 2. There are people seated in seats 1B,C,D & E who could get to that emergency exit before I could and 3. the biggest one of all 3 you have 2 cabin crew including the cabin crew supervisor that sit in the 2 jump seats right NEXT to the emergency exits right at the front of the plane so I dont see what the problem is. Also please explain to me why an elderly woman with a broken right arm was allowed to sit in seat 1C, basically right next to the emergency exit (she would have been 1 of the first people to get to the exit if there was an emergency), there is no way in the world she would have been able to open/operate the emergency exit with her arm in plaster & a sling so I want to know why wasnt she moved? Also now this is the part that REALLY hurts, how come my return flight to Melbourne on Sunday 24th there was NO ISSUE with my seating position (seat 1A again) the exact same seat I had booked for the trip to Brisbane, I even asked Sarah the check in girl at Brisbane airport if there would be an issue with my seat allocation because of the emergency exit and my disability, she asked me why I needed that seat so I explained to her about my artificial leg so I need the extra leg room, she then checked with her supervisor & came back to me & said "thats fine NO PROBLEMS"!!! She then went on to explain that if I had booked a seat in the emergency exit rows over the wings of the aircraft there would be a problem due to the fact of my arm & there is no cabin crew seated there but because I had booked the seat at the very front of the aircraft it was fine as 2 cabin crew sit right beside the emergency exits at the front of the plane so there is absolutely NO ISSUE & I actually chose the correct seat because of where the cabin crew sit & needing the extra leg room. I cannot give enough praise & thanks to all the cabin crew on both flights up and back, the check in staff & ground crew (airside) at Brisbane airport all of which were very professional and re assures me why I do choose to fly Tiger Airways however after the way I was treated by the check in staff and above all Management at Melbourne airport I am seriously considering NEVER flying Tiger again as I do not want to be put in that situation again & made to feel absolutely belittled, embarrassed & discriminated by your staff in Melbourne for having a disability, like I mentioned its the worst case of discrimination I have ever come across in 31 years & in this day & age we live in this should not be happening. I have have taken a picture of my flight Itinerary, boarding passs & the piece of paper I was handed when I asked for the managers name in Melbourne. You can clearly see I booked the same seats up & back, seat 1A. I look forward to your response. Regards, Michael Osman.

-------- JOHOR DARUL TAZIM RECEIVE INTERNATIONAL ATTENTION Johor Sultans dream come true with Palace Truck. Johor ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, has achieved his dream when he took possession of the worlds most expensive Mack truck at a ceremony at King George Square in Brisbanes central business district today. The Super-Liner took a year to build at the manufacturers Wacol headquarters, south-west of Brisbane. According to ABC News, the rig has some of the fanciest extras around, including a six-camera closed-circuit television system, two flat screen television sets, a stone-topped kitchen area, barbecue, double bed and seats with 72,000 stitches of gold thread. It also boasts a solid-gold tiger hood ornament. This is my dream - am I smiling? the sultan said of his palace truck. The price tag is a well-kept secret, but smashes the previous record of A$481,000 for a customised rig. The sultan said he was delighted with the end result. I have always appreciated Australias engineering skills and have collected a few Holden cars over the years. I am looking forward to showing its workmanship to the people of Johor as soon as the Super-Liner is shipped over, he said. The sultan ordered the heavy duty rig to tow his power boat around the country. But his first drive will be a charity run when it arrives in Malaysia at the end of this month.
