25.01.2022 Congratulations Kristie, so well deserved!

23.01.2022 Coronavirus Update | 18 MARCH 2020 Pony Club Victoria is closely monitoring the situation with respect to COVID-19 and working to support the measures implement...ed by the government and health authorities to keep the community healthy. We wish to stress the importance of members, zones, clubs and event officials listening to the directives from government and health authorities who are best placed to implement measures to manage this current public health concern of COVID-19. Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, addressed the nation this morning to encourage Australians to remain calm. New measures were announced to help control the spread of COVID-19 in Australia; one of these includes the ban on non-essential indoor gatherings of over 100 and the continued ban on non-essential outdoor gatherings of over 500. Pony Club Victoria is committed to supporting the government and health authorities to keep Australians active and maintain community health, during this public health situation. Therefore, Pony Club Victoria continues to support clubs and zones conducting events and activities that are not over 500 participants (outdoors) or 100 participants (indoors). We however understand and respect that each individual, will and can make a personal choice as to whether they attend Pony Club events/activities and ask event and club organisers to do the same. Pony Club Victoria advises that clubs must not conduct events that will attract over 500 participants outdoors or 100 participants indoors. Conducting events of this size is currently illegal and will carry fines and criminal charges for organisers. Pony Club Victoria recommends that event organisers support individuals in a personal choice not to compete/attend Pony Club events/activities by refunding entry fees to participants who make this choice based on their own personal health. It is vitally important that we, as individuals, take the health of others seriously during this current public health situation. Do not attend events/activities if you: >are unwell or are concerned you are showing signs of COVID-19 >have returned from overseas in the past 14 days >have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed >with COVID-19 or has returned from overseas in the past 14 days >are required to self isolate COVID-19 does not seem to greatly affect children and young people it is a virus that affects the health of older people or people with existing health conditions. The management of Pony Club volunteers should be a consideration for events/activities during this time. We ask that everyone is very mindful of what they post to social media, please refrain from posting personal opinions. We request that questions are not posted to Facebook or other social mediums but are directed to [email protected] or private message on social media is fine too. There are high levels of anxiety in the community about this current health situation and misinformation or part information only adds to confusion and worry. The COVID-19 situation is changing on a daily or even hourly basis; we do want to support closest to normal activity for Pony Club for as long as our activities are considered reasonable to be continued by health and government authorities. Please keep watching your email, Facebook and the website to stay updated with the current advice and or directives. Pony Club has always been a leader in the way we conduct ourselves and come together to support each other during times that test us. Remember, we are all in this together. Look after each other! RUNNING EVENTS FOR CLUBS & ZONES Clubs and zones can continue to conduct events that are under 500 participants outdoors or 100 participants indoors. Club and event organising committees should assess the risks associated with conducting events/activities and aim to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 at your event/activity. Pony Clubs who are keen to conduct events/activities need to consider the following. The following general restrictions apply to all pony club activities: >All gatherings of over 500 people are to be cancelled if held outdoors. >All gatherings of over 100 people are to be cancelled if held indoors. The following needs to be advertised to all participants taking part in pony club events/activities >Do not attend pony club activities of any sort if you have or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. >Do not attend pony club activities of any sort if you have returned from overseas in the 14 days preceding the event. >Do not attend pony club activities of any sort if one of your household members is self isolating due to overseas travel or contact with someone who has COVID-19. >Do not attend pony club activities of any sort if you or people you are in regular contact with feel unwell or are showing symptoms. The following in addition to above apply to: Pony Club Rallies >Clubs are asked to not operate canteens involving food preparation until further notice. >Clubs are asked to not hold lunchtime meetings. >Members should be discouraged from gathering in social groups. >Participants should be encouraged to leave surplus support personnel/family members at home. >Members should be encouraged to practise good hygiene Club officials should seek to limit the length of a rally Pony Club Camps >Clubs must postpone camps until further notice unless day programmes can be organised as an alternative and run in a limited timeframe. Pony Club Competitions and Training Days >Participants should be encouraged to leave surplus support personnel/family members at home. >Brief officials on the importance of good hygiene >Display posters explaining good hygiene >Where possible, events should be restructured so that they can be run over the one day >Limit handling member cards, result pages and other transferrable documents >Provide sanitiser for officials to clean down workspaces >Avoid gatherings in confined spaces or close quarters >Overnight camping should be discouraged. >Canteens preparing or selling food should not operate >Gear check should be conducted with limited or no contact >Volunteers should not be confined in a small space with another person >Presentations should be limited to one class at a time or not conducted at all >Where possible every official should have their own folder/equipment. Sanitise it before you handle it, sanitise it when you finish with it, then sanitise your hands. >Advise people to bring their own toilet paper, for hygiene reasons but also the venue may not have been able to locate their own >Keep accurate records of attendance by participants and supporters to assist with mapping if a case of COVID-19 arose out of the event. Preferably this should be kept in MyPonyClub. Members should be encouraged to practice social distancing behaviours and good hygiene, including: >frequent hand washing >limiting contact with others, including through shaking hands, and >covering their mouths while coughing or sneezing The final decision as to whether to attend any pony club activity rests with each member. Support individuals making choices for their own health >Provide a refund to entrants who wish to withdraw due to health concerns, note this as a condition of entry. >Be supportive of everyones personal wish with regard to participation or non-participation. Insurance >PCA Public Liability insurance covers your club as usual at this time for conducting events that are sanctioned. >PCA Personal Liability insurance covers members as usual at this time however members should ensure they follow the human bio-security measures put in place by the government and do not attend events when unwell or suspect they may have been infected by COVID-19. Inclusion strategies >For those that may have been self-isolated, offer an opportunity for coaches to observe them via video, either live or pre-recorded. It will give kids that are isolated something to look forward to.

20.01.2022 Emu Creek Statement regarding Coronavirus. At this stage our Horse Trials competition will go ahead as planned. If the Victorian Department of Health and Health Services change their current statement then we will review this decision. Please keep an eye on our facebook page. Currently in Victoria there are no known transmissions of the infection in the community. All known cases in Victoria are due to travel overseas or through a direct link with a traveller. The Departm...ent of Health state that at this point in time our advice around major events/sporting events/creative events and other public gatherings is that they can still go ahead and people should go about their lives as normal. HOWEVER: If you have within the last two weeks returned from overseas particularly to Italy, Korea, Iran or mainland China please stay at home. If you are feeling unwell you should not attend public gatherings or events. If you have been in close contact with someone who has coronavirus disease stay at home. Please pay attention to good hand hygiene and good respiratory hygiene. Wash hands often with soap and running water for at least 20 seconds. Dry with paper towel. Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you dont have a tissue cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow. Use an alcohol based hand sanitiser with over 60 per cent alcohol. Please educate your children on good hygiene practices before Sunday.
