21.01.2022 Frenchman Bay is located on the southern side of King George Sound in the Torndirrup National Park, approximately 25 minutes drive from Albany’s CBD. The tranquil bay features an excellent picnic area with several barbecues sites, a boat launch and toilets. The bay takes its name from a visit to King George Sound by one of two French explorers either Nicholas Baudin in 1808 or Jules Dumont d'Urville in 1826. Sailors from one of the expeditions went on land to collect fresh water from a spring near the bay.
