24.01.2022 Yesterday Enable had a special visit from the Mayor of Hume City Council, Carly Moore where we shared morning tea and showed her the operations of our Tech recycling, online retailing and fulfilment and storage services. Mayor Moore said I use a computer every-day and didnt know what was inside! Its great to see how you create value from recycling computers. We showcased Enables learning programs designed to remove barriers to employment in our local area with the vis...ion of creating a socially, environmentally and economically connected community without disadvantage. Maria Dimitriou from the Hume Economic Development team said I have loved meeting all of you and hearing your stories and journey - its impressive and I think you are all doing a great job. Thankyou Carly Moore & Maria Dimitriou from Hume City Council for visiting, we hope to see you again soon! #ewaste #environment #socialenterprise #socent #enableitrecycling #socialimpact #broadmeadows #recyclecomputers #socialprocurement #corporatesocialresponsibility Hurdle

24.01.2022 As part of the 2019 Youth in Philanthropy Program held by the Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation, Melbourne Grammar School selected Enable IT Recycling as the recipient of $8,000 to go towards creating positive social change. We have since purchased a Walkie stacker from our kind friends Lencrow Forklifts (great deal!) and installed racking to improve our storage capabilities and efficiency in the warehouse. This contribution has also expanded our commercial work skills & jo...b taster activities, providing up to 60 participants with understanding how to operate the Walkie Stacker where they learn about lifting safety, manoeuvrability & load stabilisation. This will improve employment opportunities and have a real-life impact on social inclusion in the workforce. Thank-you to Melbourne Grammar School and the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation for this incredible addition to Enable. 10.01.2022 As our homes transform into offices and our lounges become classrooms, tech is becoming increasing difficult to buy as global demand skyrockets and domestic and international supply is limited. Enable, is currently partnering with many other non-for-profits around the State of Victoria to ensure affordable technology gets into the hands of those in need to help remain connected and accessible to family, support workers, teachers and community services. Enable are working ti...relessly to source, upgrade and distribute technology to provide disadvantaged people and businesses with affordable solutions during this difficult time. Affordable portable items such as laptops, tablets and IPADs are in very high demand and our stocks are running low. This is a shout out to businesses in Melbourne if you have any portable items coming through your business soon, PLEASE let us know so we can discuss how we may be able to get these items into the hands of highly disadvantaged members of our community so they can stay connected with us all! 08.01.2022 From this pile of donated, decommissioned technology, Enable will reuse, repair, repurpose and recycle all of its components, diverting them from landfill and reducing our impact on the environment. Our passion for the environment is paralleled only by our commitment to social justice, as we strive to break unemployment cycles for locals who experience barriers to employment. As well as diverting tonnes of e-waste from landfill, we provide a real-life work environment that ...allows participants to build and grow confidence as well as teaching technical skills to improve employment prospects. As recycling week comes to a close consider how you can create sustainable social and environmental change in your community #recycledifferently #ewaste #sustainabilityvictoria #reduce #reuse #recycle #recycleweek

04.01.2022 Today is World Autism Awareness/Acceptance day! Like many people around the world, you may be finding it tough as our routines are changed with school and work closures, and our favourite foods may be hard to get at supermarkets. COVID-19 is particularly difficult for individuals with autism as well as their parents, carers & families and Enable would like to acknowledge the challenges that this time may present. Autism Awareness Australia has compiled some autism specific re...sources to help manage life during this crisis. www.autismawareness.com.au//autism-and-coronavirus-covid-1 Today we celebrate our Impact Partnership with Hurdle (a registered NDIS provider).
