25.01.2022 So I've gone back on my word of not making dream catchers ever again and have decided on doing another range for the shop now that I have the time. When it comes to creating, no matter the project, I get extremely messy. My entire room is now covered with ribbons, feathers, cords and beads, potentially a couple of sewing needles thrown in the mix. I have literally used up all of the floor space and am now perched up on the bed wondering how this explosion of mess has occurre...d I was talking earlier with my lil sister about a book our mum gave me back when I was a child and I swear she wrote it for me, either that or it cursed me into living this lifestyle of chaotic mess. So the book reads "Jillian, Jillian, Jillian Jigs, it looks like your room has been lived in by pigs...Later I promise as soon as I'm through, I'll clean up my room, I promise I do" The story of my life and that little ryme continually circles round in my head, thanks mum But hey, it's ok, it's creative mess, even though I'm out of room to be creative with no way of reaching the doorway unscathed I envy organised crafters right now! xx #catchingdreams #dreamcatcher #gettingcreative #makingthemostofmytime #hermitlife #EnchantedPINES

21.01.2022 They say the first year in business will be your hardest and as I have recently completed a full year of running Enchanted Pines I may have to disagree with that. For me at least, my second year will certainly be a challenge, with it beginning with the stage four lockdown, and like many businesses I will be closed for the next 6 weeks, this Wednesday being my last day. Although I am fearful of the unknown of my business, I do look forward to having a well overdue break to recover mentally from the stress that the past few months has brought. I will certainly miss everyone and will continue to post when I can. I really want to thank you all for your amazing support and kind, caring words that has really helped me through all this I hope you guys have a great day. Stay safe and speak soon xx

15.01.2022 So I just got home from the shop and as I looked up to the nights sky and took in a large breath of fresh air, I saw this... a massive ring of light around the moon. 12.01.2022 One of my main projects over the next 6 weeks is transform this little attic room into a space where I can relax and get back to the things I love doing. I have definately been all consumed by my business, which is only natural when starting from scratch and trying to establish a new business, but it's also important to have balance. so this is me bringing in my balance and completely shutting off from work. 10.01.2022 Found myself the biggest teapot I could find in the house and biggest cup to go with, why? Why not day 6 of no coffee, so a massive pot of jasmin green tea it is. My brother gave me this tea set for Christmas one year, well gave me a myer voucher that got me this set. I am the most annoying person when it comes to gift vouchers. I spent hours searching all the levels in Myers to obtain what I thought was the perfect gift, not wanting to waste that precious piece of paper. ...I remember my poor older sis continually grabbing random items from the shelves and thrusting them into my hands saying "what about this" desperately wanting me to make a decision. It was as annoying for me as it was for her. There is a reason why I tell plp not to get me vouchers because it's like giving me a peice of gold... 'get anything you want', it says and 'choose wisely with this set amount, not a cent less, not a cent more' so much pressure. 07.01.2022 We have Voldemort living in our quarters oh the things Ronald puts up with while having me home every day for the next SIX WEEKS... Often he will be hunting around for his breakfast that he's just put down on the bench, or his hot chocolate that he thought was heating in the microwave or anything that he's left unattended for a split second. I dive on the opportunity to hide things, sniggering away to myself pretending it wasn't me. he goes along with it silently searching cupboards high and low until I give in letting out my evil laughter. It keeps me so amused thinking that he must be thinking hes lost his marbles. Although I won't be ready to open up shop this week, I will post an opening date as soon as I know when that will be. 03.01.2022 Not all writers need to have a specific setup to write. They can write anywhere, anytime, any place, and perhaps I could too. But I choose not to. I prefer a dedicated spot, and a place far from distraction. Gone are the days of scribbling away on little bits of paper while working away at a job, or on the backs of well worn receipts found in the depths of my hand bag while down the street, or rocking from side to side while trying to steady my hand to jot down character de...scriptions of those around me while riding the train. I love writing, I always have, but after I finished a course a few years back in professional writing and editing my passion for it went away, I'm not sure why. Maybe it was the structure of having had to use structure in my writings, or the pressure I put myself under to finish writing a novel, or classes I had to take that didnt particularly interest me. Or perhaps it had something to do with my atrocious spelling. If you guys havnt noticed, it's not great I'm not shy about having to ask a customer or two about how to spell a particular word for my posts, or if in fact that word even exists in the English language Over the last couple of months though, my passion has finally made its way back and I'm of the opinion none of that stuff matters because I enjoy writing. I've finally found a place for my desk so I'm looking forward to putting pen to paper to begin another chapter. This desk and I go way back. I crafted it 16years ago, back at trade school and its been my writers garret ever since, my special place to create characters, places or write about my own life's journey. I really hope you guys are doing well, and finding ways to keep inspired. it's a good time to revisit forgotten hobbies, or to create new ones! 02.01.2022 I spy with my little eye, a reading nook I love my little corner by the window, soaking up some Winter sun with Teddy. To make the most of this low roofed space, I've had to be creative and use little furniture, my side table is a display/pot stand from the shop, my corner couch is an old ottoman draped over with a gorgeous soft faux fur throw, and cushions, both from the shop, you could also tie up a bean bag with a throw to get a similar effect. The mini stepped shelvin...g I got from Kmart a couple of years ago, and although they looked shocking against the stained pine, now sits nicely against the newly painted white walls. The paint colour is Dulux natural white which is a warm white, chosen by the @the_colour_retreat whom I also get ALL my painting advice from, including which under coat I had to use ontop of stained timber. I hope you guys like it, I'm definately feeling the pressure to impress though I'd feel the same way if it was for my only. 01.01.2022 It looks like another gorgeous day today and I'm eagerly waiting for my weekend to arrive to hopefully soak up a bit of sun. Until then, I will be at the shop until 3pm I just got in some plain coloured bandanas $6.95ea and some more Japanese print bandandas $7.90ea, and Laurens been busy continually stocking up on her beautiful masks $24ea, 3 layers, (don't forget these are hand wash only) Have a great weekend guys xx
