22.01.2022 The Encore Strings Orchestra started as an idea in 2009 as a result of a discussion over dinner between the now Musical Director Ashley Arbuckle and his wife, violinist Louise Allen. They were lamenting the fact that there must be talented musicians within society who, for whatever reason or circumstance, had to give up the playing their instrument. They enlisted the help of a publicist to help them with exposure in local newspapers and radio stations, with Ashley being the ...spokesperson for the potential Orchestra. In February 2010, The Encore Strings Orchestra had its first rehearsal, at the Wembley Community Centre with 18 players registering. There was a mixture of nervous excitement, many questioning whether they would be able to play efficiently enough to stay with the group. The players came from all walks of life and professions. Encore now has a regular attendance of 20-30 players. It is a diverse group and has become like a family.

Encore Strings’ first rehearsal will be held on 25th January 2018 at 10am at Wembley Community Center Hall, we are openly inviting any new Strings players between 40-101 years old to come and join us. $20 each rehearsal, pay at the venue.
