25.01.2022 Fantastic service!! Allan and his team very helpful. Will be recommending Encore Accounting to people in the future :) chrish535 https://www.wordofmouth.com.au//encore-accounting-bowen-hi

22.01.2022 We are in interesting times. Totally unknown and uncharted waters. My message is use the time to take a break, dont let fear control you. Warren Buffett said "Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful" You will see businesses that are cutting back. These are the people that love to live by fear, blame others, and make excuses. But what Ive learned from going through three crashes (1987, the dotcom crash in 2000 and the GFC in 2008) - is that th...e best time to double down is when others are not. During an economic downturn, youll find that you will have less competition, which means it is easier and faster to get results, and in some cases, youll be able to get deals. When you see your competitors closing down or slowing down the goal is to increase your activity but be careful and smart about it. You may not see the biggest return immediately, but in the near term, you will (within 90 days). But most of all dont panic. Use the time to improve your business do the things your have been putting off. Increase you marketing efforts to be out there when things return to normal, which they will.

22.01.2022 Happy to recommend Encore Accounting. The team are more than helpful offering a personal service with all our accounting needs. LEANNE & DAVID WRIGHT leannew158 https://www.wordofmouth.com.au//encore-accounting-bowen-hi

22.01.2022 With our current growth, we are expanding our team. Hence we are seeking an admin assistant to help our accountants be more productive. Working in a chartered accounting office has great benefits and you learn so much about business. Have a look at the ad on seek (https://talent.seek.com.au/job/Index/5354291) The main criteria, besides liking chocolate, is experience in a professional office, a great team attitude, living not too far away from Bowen Hills so that travel is a problem. If you know anyone that would fit the above, please get them to contact us.

17.01.2022 Dont get caught with paying more tax than is absolutely necessary With just 4 business days left in the 2020 financial year, we have been busy with our clients doing last minute tax planning. Be mindful that tax is charged at different rates for companies, individuals, super funds and trusts. So play the tax rate game to your advantage. Some last minute tips: Superannuation: As always superannuation must be paid to be deductible. As an employer the June 2020 superannuation w...ill not be deductible unless paid (out of your bank account and received by the super fund) before 30th June 2020. The last pay week in June is 26th. Hence if you pay Junes super on Monday 29th June you should get a tax deduction in the 2020 tax year. As an employee or sole trader if you want to make a personal contributions (up the $25,000 cap) again it must be paid before 30th June 2020. Instant Asset Write-off: In early March the instant asset write-off was increased from $30,000 to $150,000. To be eligible the item must be purchased and installed ready for use by 30th June 2020. Prepayment Rules: It is perfectly acceptable for a small business entity (as defined) to prepay expenditure for up to 12 months and hence receive a tax deduction for the amount so paid. Hence if 2020 looks like being a good year you can decide to pay, for example up to 12 months rent in advance and get a tax deduction. Of course you will need to finance this payment. Bring Forward Expenditure, Defer Income: The above is common. While it is only creates a timing difference the tax effect for the current year may be significant. For example if you know that certain equipment needs an overall, it would pay to have that work completed in June rather than, say July. Please PM if you need to discuss any of the above or any tax issues. Remember it is not how much you make that is important, it is how much you keep (after tax). See more

17.01.2022 How does everyone feel about the response time for email and telephone calls. How quickly should you return a call or respond to an email. At Encore we have a p...olicy of same day response. I usually respond instantly and quickly. Some say you should allocate a specific time in the day to reply so that it doesnt take up your productive time. Does it affect the way clients perceive you? If you are a client of say a lawyer or accountant does it affect the way your think of that lawyer or accountant. What does everyone think or do? See more

16.01.2022 Great team offering all our accounting needs. My business and I have always received PROMPT service, professionalism, support, and clear explanations when requested. liad997 https://www.wordofmouth.com.au//encore-accounting-bowen-hi

16.01.2022 At Encore we care about our clients. Put us to the test by giving us a call.

16.01.2022 Many businesses are on JobKeeper to help cover their staff wages. The old scheme that required only 1 test period ends on 27th September. The new changes were legistraled last week. At Encore we have put togther the booklet below which explains the new scheme in a simple (as is possible) way. We have also coverred all of the other measures to help small business owners. The download is free, we do not collect your email address. We just want to help our business community. https://www.encoreaccounting.com.au///07/JobKeeper-2.0.pdf

15.01.2022 Contractor vs Employee I know most of you will be checking the budget and seeing how it affects you. One take away is the announcement about the crack down on so called " Sham Contractor Arrangements" I have had quite a bit to say on this in the past and what the definition of a contractor/employee is. With our clients in the building trade this is especially important. Remember it is a double edged sword. As a contractor you miss out on super, holiday pay and do not have PAYG deducted. But you are able to manage your business and tax affairs better. Do you think it is better to be a contractor or an employee? What is your experience on this? We have this conversation perhaps every week with clients and we have our own view on the matter. What do you think?

15.01.2022 When you get into your car do you check the fuel gauge before you set out. Many business owners tend to shy away from the financial side of their business. They leave it to their bookkeeper or accountant. While the number crunching should be left to professionals, as a business owner you really need to take control of your numbers. After all liquidation or bankruptcy are financially based.

13.01.2022 Due to our growth in new clients, we need an extra person to join our team. Must have experience in a professional office. See the below:

13.01.2022 I read an interesting article regarding the ATO and garnishee orders. Last year we had a lot of clients issued with garnishee orders on their bank account. Effectively the ATO tried to take direct from the clients bank outstanding tax due. Bad luck if you had wages or rent to pay the next day. I understand sometimes getting paid can be hard, esp if you are the ATO. But care needs to be taken not to destroy the business in the process. Has anyone in our group had this happen to them. I am interested to hear if this action is continuing.

12.01.2022 Last minute tax saving tips! Here is a brief list of things you can do before the end of June to reduce your tax bill this financial year. As a Business Owner: 1. Maximise your superannuation tax deductions for both your staff and yourself: a. For the directors and owners pay up to the maximum cap ($30,000 or $35,000 depending on age).... b. For staff pay the June 2017 super before 30th June. You only get a tax deduction for super when it is paid. Calculate the super in advance and pay it on 28th or 29th June so that you get a tax deduction in the current year. 2. Hold back invoices to customers for work done or not quite completed - if possible. Read more here: http://bit.ly/2rc9dYq See more

10.01.2022 Pareto, an Italian Philosopher, said that everything falls into the realm of 80/20 and one can apply this theory to everything we do in life and use it to improve our businesses and our relationships. 20% of your clients generate 80% of your profits 80% of your clients generate only 20% of your profits... 20% of your clients give you 80% of your problems 80% of your clients give you 20% of your problems 20% of your staff gives you 80% of your problems 80% of your staff gives you 20% of your problems 20% of your friends you hang around with 80% of the time 80% of your friends you hang around with 20% of the time Hence 20% of your clients give you 80% of your problems 80% of your clients give you 20% of your problems When you have a complaint or your client wants a discount or an issue comes up, I challenge you to think about who is making the complaint or suggestion. If it is someone that falls in to the 20% then ignore it. If it is some-one that falls into the 80% then you need to take notice.
