23.01.2022 It certainly has been an interesting start to this week and I want to thank all our wonderful clients for their patience and understanding as we implement new social distancing protocols in the clinic. For those of you who have not visited us this week we are asking everyone to wait outside. We are aiming for only one client in the clinic at any one time. Where possible our vets and nurses would like you to wait outside whilst we examin and treat your animals. Anna is in self... isolation as she has just flown back from Western Australia so we are very short on vets in the next few weeks. Please phone ahead and pre order your medications, preventive medications and food. This will reduce any waiting times. We are here for your pets and aim to continue to offer our usual high standard of care throughout this challenging time. Thanks again for your support. See more

19.01.2022 Timmy seems to have misunderstood his brief. He was sent to the clinic with Sophie,his new foundland sister, to give her moral support during her eye surgery. Timmy felt it was more about getting the comfy spot and used her as a sofa as she slept off her anaesthetic! That’s what brothers are for!!

13.01.2022 Unfortunately we have to give the puppies we vaccinate back to their owners! This does not stop us getting in as much cuddle time as possible, even when they fall asleep in our arms. I think this pup would still be in Rachael’s arms if we had not intervened!!

12.01.2022 What a brave little boy! This is little Thor getting comfort from his favourite toy after his routine surgery yesterday. He is such a sweetheart.

05.01.2022 This beautiful boy was found in a shopping bag on the floor of a public bathroom. A lovely park ranger found him ,sad and alone in the bag, and bought him in to the clinic. He had a note attached to his bag which tells a sad story . He was ecstatic to be released from his confinement and happy to meet everyone at the Encounter Bay clinic. His friendly nature stole our hearts. After a veterinary check up, desexing, vaccination,deworming and a few days in the clinic he has found his forever home. We are delighted he has gone to a good home where he will be loved and cared for.

04.01.2022 As I am sure you can tell from our posts we love our native wildlife. We ,like you, are devastated by the recent bushfires and the human and animal lives lost. To date an estimated 1.25 billion animals have died in the recent bushfires .We understand everyone wants to help and it is lovely to see all the people who have tried to donate to the clinic. We are not involved in the wildlife rescue and do not need any donations. All wildlife should stay on KI. The KI koala popula...tion is chlamydia free and they would like to keep it that way. We have chosen to donate to savem ( south Australian Veterinary emergency management). They have a team on KI and are coordinating the wildlife rescue efforts. They would like money rather than veterinary products as they have an account with a large veterinary supplies wholesaler and can get the things they need. You can donate to them online on savem.org.au. They are a registered charity. We can not begin to show our appreciation enough to all the volunteers involved in the bushfires. See more
