24.01.2022 As I listened to this song this week, I was reminded of the importance & blessing of faith when we or others are sick or facing the struggles of illness. Sickness is never convenient, pleasant and sometimes healing & recovery can take a very long time. In some instances there may not be a cure, yet in Christ, we still have hope and can sing with joy.
22.01.2022 The song on my lips this morning was sung with friends on our recent desert journey. We sang this song around the campfire, under the stars in the cold night air. In the early morning as the sun rose and in the heat of the day. In the extravagant beauty and barrenness. In the high and the low places. Wherever we are, may we all find the stillness and refreshing of the desert in our week.
20.01.2022 What song is on your heart this morning? I am preparing to head into the desert again with Australian Desert Spirit Journeys. Looking forward to the opportunity of practising Sukkot. An annual pilgrimage that Israel and Jesus observed where they left the city and headed into the desert. " The Hebrew Festival of Sukkot interrupted business-as-usual with a week of outdoor living and feasting ...to return to our desert heritage means to return and recover the practice of Sukkot" A time to practice the disciplines of solitude, meditation, community, transformation ( following where God is at work) Quote taken from If anyone thirsts by Ian Robinson
19.01.2022 Please note the invite below: Rev Dr Graham Joseph Hill is the Principal of Stirling Theological College. Graham is the author of numerous books. His book Holding Up Half the Sky presents a biblical case for women leading and teaching in the church. He offers a biblical and passionate call for women to be released to teach, to lead, to preach, to serve, to pastor, and to minister in every area of the church. The Bible paints a radical vision of women, empowered and emboldened for full ministry participation in Christ’s church.
19.01.2022 Morning, my blog for August. Have a good week everyone.
17.01.2022 Through my work I have recently been introduced to the term ’gaslighting’ . Mainly because many of the women I meet are recovering from abusive relationships and /or are addressing their own unhealthy behaviour patterns. In my google search I found this blog which I found most helpful for gaining a better understanding of what gaslighting looks like in practice.
16.01.2022 The words of The Lord’s Prayer are still in my mind after speaking on the scripture from Matthew yesterday. I was blessed by the insights that the prayer provides about who our heavenly father is. Have a good week everyone.
14.01.2022 A reflection for those of us who may have a few scars.
10.01.2022 For those who may be interested.
08.01.2022 What song is on your lips this morning? In the journey, through the ups and downs, the joys and disappointments, there is always One who is truly good, who promises to never leave us or forsake us and who offers us life. Rev. 7:16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, not will any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
04.01.2022 I was speaking to some precious women last night who have endured much and found faith in Jesus. One of the songs they chose was this one. I had not heard it before. As I listened to their singing I was so deeply touched. I was reminded that these words were The Spirit singing over them. Worship is based in being in a relationship with God who also rejoices and sings over us Zeph. 3:16-17 Be encouraged. Hold on
03.01.2022 Morning everyone. This is the song on my lips this morning. I was speaking on the parable of The Good Samaritan yesterday at Lifeway church and this song was just so perfect to use as a combo with the message. Thank you to the women of The Esther Foundation who constantly remind and inspire me to be willing to cross the street for others.
01.01.2022 What song is on your lips this morning? For me, what has now become an old favourite. Interesting how songs go out of fashion after a while, yet there are some which become classics. Never get tired of singing this one. Never hurts to remind our soul to bless the Lord. Have a great week everyone.
01.01.2022 During the week I was reminded of this song. So many things in life challenge the centrality of Jesus yet, Jesus death and resurrection has always been and will always be the centre of our faith. God incarnate who died for us. Have a good week everyone.
