22.01.2022 Stumps around your property should be removed, they are a perfect food source attracting termites. This increases termite pressure on your home. If you find active termites in a stump it should be treated by a professional before removal.

All ground levels around the perimeter of a house should be at least 75mm below the bottom of the weep holes, the picture illustrates how easy it would be for termites to gain concealed entry, as for gardens, I can't stress this enough they should be removed from against a house, they can attract and conceal termite entry and also the root systems can damage the foundations.

08.01.2022 If your house is built off the ground you have the ability to keep an eye on possible leaks of your wet areas. Anywhere that pipes enter are generally wet areas, kitchens, bathrooms for example. This is something you should catch early as this can attract Termites but also be very expensive to repair.

07.01.2022 The mountain is such an awesome place, I accidentally scared this lizard while doing a termite inspection, it headed straight up this tree. I saw it at the last second and it also scared crap out of me.

05.01.2022 No point having Termite shielding if all the timber around it is breaching it. No timber that is in direct contact with the ground should be in direct contact with your house. Some treated pole homes are an exception.

02.01.2022 If your about to buy a house, make sure you use a reputable company to do your building and pest inspection. Somehow this was missed in a house at Tamborine, this is only the beginning of the damage that was missed, so make sure the company goes through the roof, insulation or not, the young family who brought this house was let down by a company and ended up buying a lot of heartache and stress. No compensation was given.
