25.01.2022 Behaviour is a form of communication. Sometimes if your unsure why someone may behaving the way they do, we should ask ourselves ‘what does this behaviour mean’.... For example, if a task is too boring they might throw the toys to the ground. This is their way of letting you know they don’t want to continue with the activity! #MCDC #starkids #psychology

21.01.2022 Jigsaw puzzles are a great way to keep your child attended to an activity, as it gives them an opportunity to focus on the activity that has a clear ending. It’...s a great way for them to build their problem solving skills, and exercise their working memory. It teaches them patience, and self confidence in being able to complete a task. Remember to provide encouragement when working with your child to complete the puzzle, and praise them not just for finding a piece but the effort they are putting in to solve the puzzle. #Starkids #psychology

13.01.2022 This is a general guide to assist in evaluating your level of worry and should not be used to self-diagnose. If you have concerns regarding your level of anxiety, it is always best to contact a health care professional.

06.01.2022 At Star Kids, we used this motivating activity with a few kiddos this week! They loved playing with the water especially with the different colours and feeling ...the crackling on their hands. We used the grabber to pick up the balls and then used the numbers on the ball for our activity (eg. 1, 2 or 3 repetitions of short phrases/sentences for articulation or 1, 2 or 3 items for Mr & Mrs Potato Head to practice our pronouns (she wants/he wants) and working on our sentence structure (I’m going to get the 1/2/3 ball)). This activity was enjoyed by all!! #Starkids #speechpathology
