25.01.2022 Welcome to our Christmas Silent Auction. We have been blessed by the generosity and donations from our Endeavour College families and we are able to spread Christmas cheer and goodwill towards all, by conducting a silent auction to raise funds for S.A. Veterans Charity Group, which supports orphanages in Ba Ria, Vietnam. This activity is in support of a week-long community building and fundraising effort around the theme of Christmas that will take place in Week 6 Monday 16 N...ovember Friday 20 November. During this week, there will also be stalls during lunchtimes where gifts ranging from $3-$30 will be sold. All the gifts have been donated by the Finn and Bhindi Families. We have two fabulous items for the silent auction: A: Hawthorn Football Club Guernsey signed by Luke Hodge B: Himalayan Rock Salt Lamps (your bid will be for one (1), not all three) Here's where you can place your silent bid: https://www.endeavour.sa.edu.au/e/christmas-silent-auction/ Thank you for supporting this fundraiser.

24.01.2022 Thanks - I'll take one of each - wrap them up! Just take a look at these amazing pieces of jewelry that the Year 10 Advanced Manufacturing class have designed! Students design the jewelry, then produce a prototype on our 3D Printers. Once they are happy with the overall design and product, they select the material they want them finished in such as gold, silver, brass, or steel. The final step in this process is ordering them through Shapeways. Then Voila! Well done students, these are outstanding products.

24.01.2022 Well - that's three for three... Three times Students have defeated Staff in friendly games as the Year 12s wrap up their schooling year! The LIVE Chess Match took place at lunchtime today with the Students being moved around the chessboard by Josh, and the Staff being moved by Mr Slaven. It's easy to see why Josh is the captain of the Chess team as he swiftly took out the Staff with the Queen (Mr Pearse) and then checkmating (not sure if that is in fact a Chess term) the King (Ms Vogt). Well done students... it was a lot of fun and a great promotion for Chess at Endeavour!

23.01.2022 Change is most certainly a constant - and never a truer word has ever been spoken when reflecting on the year that was 2020. While we felt we had beaten the implications of Coronavirus to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2020 at the Entertainment Centre, all our plans were put on hold not once, but twice to lead us to a much smaller (yet socially distanced) Valedictory Service, attended by student and staff with a Live Stream to families and friends at home. And alt...hough we did not have the physical presence of parents, caregivers, and special guests, the event and celebration were by no means diminished, as the night reflected on a year of change and uncertainty, but amongst that, to find the beautiful opportunities that arose from the challenges and celebrate what has been achieved despite it all. As a community, we applaud the Class of 2020 for their strength and resilience they have shown throughout the many changes not only this year but throughout their time at Endeavour. For the full Awards and image gallery of the night, please visit: https://www.endeavour.sa.edu.au//valedictory-service-the-/

23.01.2022 During the term we held our first interdisciplinary project based learning initiative between Art/Japanese and German called the Spirited Project. Students watched and analysed Snow White and My Neighbor Totoro to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural themes and symbols within the film. From there, groups formed with interdependent roles to create an artwork, a description and attributes list in language inspired by the film. Students showed an amazing commitment to the project, with the quality of work produced for art and languages at a very high standard.

22.01.2022 Two households, both alike in dignity (In fair Mawson Lakes, where we lay our scene)... that's right, the vote for Endeavour's Favourite Book is kicking off Readers and Writers Week. And more than a150 students are in two tribes - The Hunger Games Vs Harry Potter. Who will win? Harry or Katniss? Its a battle thats been raging since the dawn of time. Well, maybe not quite that long, but for at least a decade or so. These two unstoppable franchises have become some of the mo...st influential books in print today. Endeavour College students will put this battle to rest this Friday when votes are finally counted (at the moment it's neck and neck). Other fun things happening this week for Readers and Writers Week include: Today: The Great Debate (Staff Vs Students debate 'What's better, big or small?' Tuesday: Lunchtime Kahoot in the Library Wednesday: Dress-Up Day Literary Morning Tea in the Staff Room

22.01.2022 Something special has been installed in the Senior Years Centre. It's a creative representation of the diversity of cultures that come together in harmony and form our rich and beautiful community. Specially designed by our very own old scholar, Emily Doan (2012-2016), 'The Patch Work of Our World' is Emily's artistic expression of our community, that she still holds dear to her heart today and in her words "Like a quilt woven through time that bonds us together, this mural c...onsisting of a multitude of patterns recognised around the world represents the diversity of our culture and how are all interconnected by our home as multiple fabrics make up a homey quilt. The earth from a distance gives the perspective of us being all together on the Earth, rather than separated as countries." As our Year 12s prepare for their final few days here at Endeavour College, we feel this is a fitting tribute to their time with us, and that no matter where they go or what they do, they will always be a part of our community. Thank you to WallsThatTalk for bringing Emily's vision to life in such an impressive form. Emily Doan Illustration Connected Schools Lutheran Education Australia

22.01.2022 Year 12 Chemistry students are learning about condensation polymers by making nylon. A competition was held in class to see who could produce the longest nylon strand. The winning length was a new college record, measuring in at 9.02metres!

21.01.2022 I bet you didn't know that you could be serenaded by bagpipes! Eve, our Youth Worker here at Endeavour College, piped out 'Scotland the Brave' especially for Kim, our Finance Manager, today. Ahhh, when you've heard one song played on bagpipes, you've heard them both! Seriously, thanks to Eve for an entertaining display.

21.01.2022 After a little confusion, it has been confirmed that the STUDENTS won yesterdays staff versus students volleyball game. The game was tied and proceeded to a 'next point wins' scenario, allowing students to claim the cheeky victory.

21.01.2022 To all, may the joy that filled the world at the birth of Jesus Christ be found in your home. Have the sweetest of Christmas seasons!

19.01.2022 Adventures are often the best way to learn - and in saying that, we wish our Year 9 boys a wonderful experience on The Voyage camp this week. We are looking forward to hearing about your experiences.

19.01.2022 In his debut performance, our Deputy Principal, Peter Pearse, outlines some quick and easy tips for navigating our new Learning Management System, Canvas. Click on the link below to take you to our YouTube Channel to view Peter's video. Take it away Peter... https://youtu.be/hWJG8olgUbg

19.01.2022 To our Year 9 parents and caregivers... We are looking forward to The Voyage - Stepping Up ceremony this Wednesday evening from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Don't forget to check your emails for all the information including the video and where you can fill out your attendance form. See you soon!

19.01.2022 How cool is Science? Last week students from Year 7 and 8 took part in SciWorld workshops. The workshops covered topics such as energy, forces, physical changes and chemical reactions, captivating students with big bangs and fire experiments.

18.01.2022 At Endeavour College, we strive to embed student-agency into the learning environment but its not just edu-jargon. Case in point - Jesse Isaac, Year 9 student, late last term took the initiative to organise a thank-you video to Emergency Services after they attended our school. You may recall that we had a fire on campus in Term 2. While all was well on the day, and the situation was brought quickly under control, this incident prompted a variety of responses from our ...students, who reflected on it in their own ways. Jesse decided to show his gratitude in a creative way showcasing a high level of autonomy and responsibility while sharing the student experience in the learning environment. Jesse engaged a volunteer videographer and organised fellow students to take part in this initiative. Together, they developed responses to questions, and courageously shared this for everyone to hear. This is a great example of our students having a voice and demonstrating student-agency, ultimately taking responsibility for their learning. Take a look at the Video here: https://youtu.be/6hYVzoYfbno

18.01.2022 We want to wish our Year 9 Girls good luck and good vibes as they embark on one of the final stages of The Voyage - the camp. While they were not able to travel to the Grampians this year, they will have an equally wonderful experience down Victor Harbor... and this is no inflatable castle where they are staying!

18.01.2022 Last week, the Year 9s took their first step on 'The Voyage' - well many steps actually! The first stage of The Voyage - 'Setting Forth' involves a hike up Anstey Hill, to help strengthen teamwork, communication resilience, and perseverance skills. Our Year 9s demonstrated grit and determination, essential characteristics for their personal development as they move from Middle Years into Senior Years next year. The next stage will be the 'Stepping Up' ceremony that will take place next Wednesday evening. Well done Year 9s!

17.01.2022 What do you get when you combine Year 4s, Where The Wild Things Are, and a Treasure Hunt? A wildly excited group of students with a hoard of great memories - Otherwise known as the Connected Schools Art Workshops. We were fortunate to be visited by Year 4 students from St Paul Lutheran School, Blair Athol, Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Para Vista and Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School over the past week, who took part in exploring the little treasures hidden around Endeav...our College orchestrated by the Year 9 Village Leaders, and an innovative Art Workshop. Our visitors got to recreate their very own Wild Thing character based on the book by Maurice Sendak with a twist... It needed to be visible in a dark forest. Our Art department teachers, along with Endeavour Art Student helpers, created a magical experience for the Year 4s where they turned out the lights in the Art rooms, so the artistic creations could take form in the dark. Using neon and glow in the dark paints and pens, and blacking out the windows from light, students went on their very own wild adventure to produce very interesting 'Wild Things'. Now that's how you Collaborate, Create and Celebrate! Thank you to all who visited us and the teachers who accompanied them, our own Year 9 Village Leaders, and the creative minds of our Art Teachers, Mr. Harten, and Ms. Brooke. See more

17.01.2022 Check out the latest project from within the Geography, Technologies and IT Faculties: the Augmented Reality Sandbox. The AR Sandbox incorporates a specialised computer, sensors and projector that uses real-time 3D scanning to project a virtual/physical landscape onto sand, shown using an elevation colour map and contour lines. Students can interact with the sand to create different types of landforms and model different landscapes, as well as using the technology to simulate environmental conditions such as rainfall, stormwater runoff, flooding and erosion.

16.01.2022 So Maggie has passed on all the great things about Endeavour to her friends. When I asked Galah what made him pick Endeavour to study with, he said he was wanting to get his Dux lined up!

16.01.2022 Following a Be the Change social issue research and awareness task within the Year 9 Voyage Program, two students made affirmation cupcakes for the whole class, tying in nicely with R U OK Day yesterday. What a kind gesture!

16.01.2022 Tonight is opening night! Good luck to the cast and crew of the senior drama production, Lord of the Flies. Break a leg!

16.01.2022 Stage 2 Outdoor Education students spent the last two nights away on a self-reliant kayaking expedition within Chowilla Game Reserve in the Riverland. Students kayaked along the Murray River navigating their way to each campsite themselves, relying on cooperation, collaboration and teamwork. Good luck to the second class that departs next week!

15.01.2022 It's World Teachers' Day and we celebrate by acknowledging our amazing teachers here at Endeavour College. We cannot thank our teachers enough for their dedication, commitment, hard work and the important role they play inside our classrooms and in the community. The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see. Alexandra K Trenfor.

15.01.2022 Today, the culmination of a Term's worth of Inquiry-Based Learning was exhibited as part of DRIVE20. Year 9s creatively displayed and enthusiastically talked about their area of interest to fellow students. From delicious German and Japanese cuisine, beautifully produced artwork, innovative electronics, gingerbread decorating, flight/car simulators, and sampling hot chocolate to a Porsche parked on the College grounds... there truly was something for everyone. A lot of har...d work went into today's exhibition and every student is to be congratulated for a fabulous display of their passions and the amount of thought and work that went into bringing them to life. Drive20 is led by the Languages and Literacy teams and is essentially a project-based learning passion project where students tap into an area of interest to them and connect it creatively to Japan/Germany or another culture.

15.01.2022 Today we had the privilege of hearing from the nominees for College Captains in 2021. Each candidate was articulate in the types of leaders they would be should they represent the student body. Building relationships, being true to our values, and achieving tasks effectively was a common theme and it appears Endeavour College is well placed for student leadership in 2021. It's a good time to also thank our current school captains, who have ably represented our student body during unprecedented times during 2020.

13.01.2022 Endeavour College entered three teams into Tournament of Minds this year, that due to restrictions, was held online over the weekend. Teams were required to produce a video of their entries, and we are extremely delighted that our Team 3: TeamUnity, received a Merit Award! Congratulations Team 3 on your entry, which ably displayed your passion for learning, problem solving and fantastic teamwork! A further congratulations to Team 1: ISoGood and Team 2: TBA, who also produced ...strong videos in support of their entries. A special thanks to Mrs Noack who supported, encouraged and inspired students to develop their skills and talents in an exciting and vibrant way. Tournament of Minds is an Australian educational program challenging the world to develop problem-solving skills. https://www.tom.edu.au/branch/SA/

13.01.2022 Last Friday night we held our annual Cabaret here at the College. This year the theme was 'If life were a Musical' with students performing many popular Broadway ballads and Disney classics. It was difficult not to sing along and shimmy while seated during the performances with the amount of talent and energy displayed by all. Well done to all students and staff involved!

13.01.2022 Endeavour College will be flying their Village Colours today at the Salisbury Swim Centre. Come and support your team and join the fun!

11.01.2022 We were thrilled to host Paul Dillon for the 12th consecutive year, to present online Alcohol and Drug Information Sessions to our senior students. Even with COVID-19 and some broken bones, Paul sustained days prior to the session, didnt stop him from presenting in his usual engaging and informative style! We look forward to welcoming Paul back again next year and wish him well in his recovery from recent injuries.

11.01.2022 The annual Year 12 Art Show had its opening night last Friday - and what a success! Truly beautifully crafted pieces of art orchestrated by our talented Year 12 Visual Art and Design class were on display for family and friends. The theme this year is The Great Gatsby, in particular, the era with its opulence and esthetic appeal. And no show is complete without a costumed cast. Our Year 12s looked amazing as they went to town on the look and feel for the night. But the true shining statement was the art itself. The art is on display for the next week so we encourage you to take a look or see the images below. Congratulations Year 12 Art students and to Mr. Harten - you have done Endeavour proud once again.

06.01.2022 It was the Class of 2010 Reunion on Saturday night and what a fabulous night it was. More than 30 old scholars (and partners) and Teachers came along to reminisce, share updates, and generally have a great time. Leading up to the event, many Teachers commented on what a great group this cohort was and it proves that just like the branches of a tree, our lives may grow in different directions but our roots will always remain as one. Thanks to everyone for making it such a memorable night!

06.01.2022 Our Opening Service took place this week and it was truly wonderful to bring our College together to officially begin the school year. 06.01.2022 Today, our Year 11 students welcomed educators from the Abraham Institute to explore and encourage greater understanding and tolerance of religious and ethnic groups in our society. Together, Year 11s discussed differences, prejudice, and basic human rights to gain a broader intercultural understanding. We are continually proud of our students and the respect and acceptance that is in their hearts. We know that when our students leave the College, they will do so with a harmonious mindset. The Abraham Institute works in SA Schools to help young people learn to co-exist peacefully through intercultural understanding.

06.01.2022 Student Vs Teachers informative and very entertaining debate, "Go Small or Go Big", was won by the STUDENTS at lunchtime today. Both teams presented interesting points of view but ultimately, the Student team demonstrated that it's true, size does matter.

06.01.2022 Today is World Coffee Day - although our IT department would say that's a 365-day occurrence! I thought I'd honour the day by posting images of students who look as though they may have had too much coffee... but really we know they are just naturally full of energy.

05.01.2022 This week is PE week and that can only mean thing... Staff Versus Students games. Today at lunchtime we will bring you the most highly anticipated Netball game. Staff are starting to do warm-ups now and the PE department is a bit worried they may have taught the students too well! Stay tuned for the results and photos.

05.01.2022 This Remembrance Day, Endeavour College paid its respects to those who fought for our freedoms and lost their lives for our nation in all wars. As a community, we gathered at our ANZAC Pavilion where students and staff helped bring the true meaning and purpose of the observance to light. Lest We Forget. Remembrance Day, originally known as Armistice Day, commemorates the men and women of World War One, both in the armed forces and civilians. Remembrance Day is held on the 11t...h of November every year as this was the day in 1918 when hostilities ceased. Nearly one hundred years have passed since the truce that ended World War One, yet conflicts continue to ignite throughout the world. This said citizens and leaders of the world continue to hold the belief that peace is possible, and continue to work towards that goal. In Remembrance Day ceremonies across Australia, one minute of silence is observed at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month to mark the anniversary of the end of four years of horrifying war.

05.01.2022 Apologies for the poor sound quality

05.01.2022 Next on the Connected Schools Year 9 Band Tour we paid a visit to St Paul Lutheran School, Blair Athol. 03.01.2022 Yesterday we were privileged to have 12 veterans attend our annual Year 10 Veterans Day. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain a first-hand insight into specific events and experiences from those who served.

03.01.2022 STEM AIRBAG CHALLENGE - The Sequel. And they say sequels aren't as good as the original! Pfft! Our Year 9 students took part in this year's Chemical Reactions Unit by applying theoretical reasoning, scientific method, and problem-solving skills to design and create a simulated airbag that inflates upon an impact. The requirement was students must create a delivery system that keeps the reactants separate until impact, fully inflating the zip lock bag. A lot of fun was had during this practical and we are glad to say that no reactants were (unnecessarily) harmed during this exercise (until they needed to be).

02.01.2022 It can be daunting leaving high school and facing the real world. In saying this, its important to consider the options available and start thinking early on about what is needed as the final years at Endeavour approach. That's why our Student Pathway Leader, Mrs Fitridge, organises a Career Development and Career Expo Day to provide valuable information on what to do after high school, helping with the decision making process regarding subject selections while at Endeavou...r and devising a pathway for the future. Today at lunchtime and during lessons 4, 5 and 6, further education, training, and careers-based industries came together in the Senior Years Centre to showcase their offerings. It was enthusiastically attended by our students who were keen to engage with the experts and gather information. Thank you to everyone who provided information today for these essential and valuable sessions. See more

02.01.2022 It's the last day for Year 12s as they head for swot vac and prepare for their exams... a day of celebration beginning with breakfast served by staff, Village games and activities, and a whole school assembly hosted by Year 12 Captains and the Student Action Team. With the theme of Monopoly, the Year 12s treated the school to a fitting tribute to their year showing that they took their Chance in spite of a global pandemic, to have a wonderful year. The 2021 College Captains and Student Action Team leaders were presented with their sashes and badges and the future class of 2021 were honoured on stage. Good luck Year 12s... you've been a wonderful, positive and courageous cohort.

02.01.2022 Dear famies, you would have already received the following information via email, regarding our learning approach over the next period, and to reiterate: From Wednesday 25 November 2020 all learning programs will be delivered via online platforms and continue until otherwise advised. The Flexible Learning Guide created earlier in the year will be a reminder of our practices and procedures. Refer to the following link https://www.endeavour.sa.edu.au/wp- content/uploads/2020/04.../FLEXIBLE-LEARNING-GUIDE-FOR-FAMILIES.pdf The College will provide onsite supervision for vulnerable students or students of families of essential workers during this period. If you require this service, please complete by clicking on this link https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx This will provide information that will enable us to provide adequate supervision and care for them. Students attending the College should arrive and report to the Year 7 area by 8.40am where they will be signed in. They should bring all equipment to complete their learning online and bring their own food and drink for the day. Students may wear PE uniform. Students are encouraged to wear a face mask and will be dismissed at 3.15pm. We encourage Students to reach out to an adult if they need wellbeing support, and may directly email wellbeing staff who are already supporting them. We will send further information early next week about ways to access support from the College across areas of wellbeing, learning and faith, and we strongly encourage students and families to utilise relevant community services, specifically phone and online services which focus on wellbeing, should the need arise. Again, we thank you for working with us to enable learning to continue through to the end of the year, whilst at the same time time keeping everyone safe. We will continue to provide you with updates and changes as they are made in line with the SA Health updates other Government advice. Every blessing as you and your family navigate this unpredictable time. Yours in Christ.

01.01.2022 The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November 2020. 01.01.2022 A very special and big congratulations to Tyla Peters, who yesterday received her official award from the Minister of Education, The Hon John Gardner MP, on behalf of the Premier, for her entry into the ANZAC Spirit Award. Tyla Peters (Year 10) has, over the past few years, developed a keen interest in History, which was in part inspired by studies of World War I and II. It brought out her interests and was at times an emotional journey for her especially since her Great Grea...t Uncle, Rex Arthur Glasson served as a Pilot Officer in the Second World War. When Tyla's Grandfather became the custodian of Rex's personal possessions, she decided to share the time with her Grandfather exploring and researching their family history. And the rest, as they say, is quite literally history. Tyla entered the competition and it was soon announced at a whole of school assembly, that she was an awardee of the ANZAC Spirit Award for her 2000-word research essay and reflection on Rex Arthur Glasson. Malcolm McInerney, who manages the program for the Department of Education, paid a special visit to the College to personally present Tyla with her Award, given to her due to her poignant tribute to the service and sacrifice of not only Rex but her extended family. Congratulations Tyla, for this well-deserved recognition of your achievements. See more
