25.01.2022 We’re doing a live show with Cathy Diver I hope you’re all doing okay out there x
25.01.2022 Bec Taylor is a dear old friend, longtime collaborator, and musical juggernaut and I'm very grateful for her take on Holding Out. Hopefully once all this *gestures vaguely* is over, we can make some new works again.
25.01.2022 I guess this is the new official clip for Lusitania, given it's perfect Most of you will know that Clarke plays drums with me and sometimes football and lately a bit of aoe2. Ellen runs community choir Mixtape Chorus among her many other talents, and should really go pro as a performer This was created as part of the Endrey By Friends event, where friends from the music community shared responses to the album following its launch in April 2020... I'm going to post them all in the coming weeks, but gradually, so we can take the time to find and check out any new artists we might not have seen before x
24.01.2022 The headline's true! Be sure to check out this bad boy and NOT just because I happen to have a grim quarantime contribution on it myself. This is all the project of Undine Records, who are a new collaboration of Canberra artists - I'm super excited to see what else they've got in store for the future. Very talented people involved.... Go to Bandcamp and buy the album if you're enjoying it - all takings go to Domestic Violence Crisis Service ACT Have a nice day :)
18.01.2022 Best til last!* Libby and Pete are two of my dearest friends and Whispering Winds is a personal favourite on the album. Of course I erupted into joy tears immediately upon seeing this, where they take it and truly make it their own. Hope you enjoy it too, it's the last, but they're all here in this playlist and I recommend taking a minute to see all the wonderful works, they're also on YouTube, so don't feel like I'm in the pocket of any particular tech monolith. I just love ...them all! Have a nice night :) *controversial, but that's why you follow my edgelord page
17.01.2022 Laura Ingram is a Melbourne-based soul singer with pipes that don't need me to describe them. Laura is a dear friend and was my singing teacher ahead of my first album. Fun fact. Here she is doing Status Update. Laura's just put out her first single and has a bunch of releases lined up into the near future so be sure to find her on Spotify etc.
17.01.2022 Nick Delatovic performed on the album (writing one of its absolute highlights - the vocal hook on Insane) and given the chance to pick any song, landed on one of the shortest. I was worried nobody would pick this one, but this beautiful performance from Nick and Zev Aviv needs less of me writing about it, and more of everybody listening and watching. 16.01.2022 Hope you're ready to get robed and jump back in bed because we're going live at 10am with the Dressing Gown Album Listening! Settle in for a spin of the full work with good headphone/speakers and maybe a hot drink or breakfast (nothing shit) Then after, we'll be having a Q+A about the whole process with special guest, producer Louis Montgomery... Join any time, here's the link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88030379916
15.01.2022 Sunday treat for us all - Lucy Sugerman with her version of Pathways Headphones on! This was created as part of the Endrey By Friends event, where friends from the music community shared responses to the album following its launch in April 2020... I'm going to post them all in the coming weeks, but gradually, so we can take the time to find and check out any new artists we might not have seen before x
14.01.2022 This is what it looks like when I sit down and write, except it's not usually such nice lighting. Or such a nice piano. x
13.01.2022 working from home or homely from work babbyyy
11.01.2022 Today's re-imagining is from a man with a voice as large as his hair, with a heart that dwarfs them both. Michael Simic aka Mikelangelo initially sent me a version of him singing 'Holding Out' to share advice on rearranging the song to take it from 6 minutes to 3 for single release, but having heard him play it once I had to ask him to do it again to share with you all, I hope you enjoy! 11.01.2022 Playing a show from home to celebrate the launch of the album Also going out at @misendrey on instagram if you develop a sudden aversion to endless notifications from pages you forgot to unfollow years ago Send through any requests so that I can disregard them but collect the information for marketing purposes!... Fun to be doing something like this!
11.01.2022 I've had the privilege of working with Ramsay David Nuthall for over ten years now as part of Fun Machine and really owe a huge amount of my approach to making music to him. He took on the other most ambitious brief from the album in Shed, and I feel pretty honoured to have his hallmark growl and distinct production style playing back at me in this one
07.01.2022 Jess joined the party with this bejewelled version of Insane! Jess is such a great singer, I really love playing shows together - I can't tell you how curious and excited I am to hear whatever it is she chooses to put into the world in the coming years This was created as part of the Endrey By Friends event, where friends from the music community shared responses to the album following its launch in April 2020... I'm going to post them all in the coming weeks, but gradually, so we can take the time to find and check out any new artists we might not have seen before x
07.01.2022 I love so much about playing with Tristan, his skill, his voice, his moves, his chaos energy How blessed then that all of them are on display in his version of Lose My Way - which I'm devastated to announce is better than the original. You be the judge, of course! Just not in the comments. To quote Christopher Pyne, this is a likes page.... xx
06.01.2022 Tomorrow night's the last album launch events (for now!) and definitely the one I've been most excited about A bunch of incredible musicians are offering their own takes of the songs and we're getting together to watch them all at once... Intimidating for me to hear better versions of the same songs, and look at who: Bec Taylor Cathy Diver Clarke Finn and Ellen Maree (Canbeurovision 2018 Champs) Jess High Laura Ingram Lucy Sugerman Michael Simic Millie Watson Nick Delatovic and Zev Aviv Pete Lyon and Libby Gordon Ramsay Nuthall Ruth Lorelle Tristan Davies Víktor Rufus If you're not too starstruck, ready up some red wine and come hang with me and check em all out :)
03.01.2022 This is a favourite song of mine and hearing the re-working from Cathy Diver is almost too much On an emotional day, it really feels like the gravity pull of some kind of perfection Enjoy
03.01.2022 Creation Station Synth Lord Ruth Lorelle going full Wizard mode for her version of 'Whisper' What a gift from my dear friend the main Jayne. It's real good, listen up.
02.01.2022 Millie Watson playing her own take of Emerge, from the new album This video was a part of the Endrey By Friends event where unique versions of the album's songs were performed by friends in the music community I strongly recommend leaning back with a pair of good headphones and breathing along to this masterful re-imagining of a piece I really love - and all the more in the hands of a true genius
