24.01.2022 Sometimes you need to look at where you have been, in order to be able to see where you are going. That's not to say you stay in that space, nor do you repeat the same situation. But what you can do is look at what you learnt from the old, and use it to create the new. Loving being back out in the community, connecting with people and learning as I go.

24.01.2022 It's so easy in this world to get caught up in our heads, consumed with our phones and social media. Many walk around, looking down at a screen in order to feel connected. Understandable, I guess, given the high tech environment we have become reliant on. With that being said, does anyone wonder what they might miss if you don't look up every now and then. Today's autumn sunset :)

20.01.2022 I've been fortunate enough to have spent some time over the last few weeks, talking to people about how to move forward and find their tribe. For those that are searching, I found this great quote below. Everyone has a need to belong, however, no one should stay where they belong no more. Always be open to those who uplift you and make you feel good. Enjoy the journey x

20.01.2022 There are times in our life that we find ourselves caught in the rut of everyday living, working to a routine, meeting the needs of others and losing ourselves in the mix. Below is a list of things that we can do more of, and make a change for the positive. Choose one, see what happens :)

20.01.2022 This is the year of change, creation and empowerment. I don't expect it to be easy or straight forward, but I do see it as a challenge with a positive outcome. Will see how this turns out :)

17.01.2022 Something that I hear a lot from people, and always leaves me confused. "I'm broken" or "I need to be fixed". These statements always make me feel uncomfortable, we are human beings, how do you fix a human being that deems themselves to be broken. I understand that we all have experiences in our lives that can have devastating consequence for our mental health and well-being, but does that mean that we are broken? Depression, anxiety and stress is experienced by a large part ...of the population, and people are looking to be "fixed". Pills, therapy and self help books, all readily available to set you on the path to getting fixed. Make appointments, talk about what it is that is making us feel bad, do a course on managing distress and when nothing changes, you feel worse because now not is only something wrong with you, but you couldn't manage either, even after the books and education. I am aware of the cycle, I've been there, wasn't fun. Here's what I learnt. I'm not broken, in fact I'm OK. I may not fit into the idea of what is deemed to be everyone's idea of normal, I have my quirks and my gifts. I have my experiences, and my heartbreak. But seeing myself as being "Broken" is no longer an option, and no i don't need "fixing". Acceptance on the other hand allows you to move forward from whatever situation you feel has broken you and allows you to move forward. Maybe its an opportunity to change something in your life that simply isn't working for you. See more

13.01.2022 I had the opportunity to have a conversation with a stranger on the street the other day. It started with a smile on approach and closed 45min later with the parting words ' thank you for talking to me , it's made my day'. As I walked away from that man, I couldn't help but think about the content of that chat. Even though it was ever so brief in comparison to my day I learnt so much about his journey in this world. We laughed together and chated about things that we had in common. It occurred to me that the one smile can not only change the life of a stranger for the better, but also mine. Never underestimated the power of a smile.

13.01.2022 To see this always makes me sad. Don't ever forget, there is always help out there. It may take time and it may take energy, but there is always hope. And so long as you can hold onto that, you will never stop looking :)

13.01.2022 Did anybody catch the beauty in the sky today? Managed to catch this on my phone before it separated:)

11.01.2022 Never be afraid to take the first step and create a ripple for the better in your own life. All things are possible.

09.01.2022 So very true. Don't ever give up on whatever it is you choose to create. You may get distracted and hit challenges along the way. But don't ever listen to those who tell you something can't be done.

07.01.2022 Sometimes in life you need to try something different as a way of avoiding living in the same rut or cycle. Sounds simple enough, however for a lot of people, change can be difficult. With this in mind, the process is underway to begin a new fitness and wellness group in the local area. Set down for after Easter, the first session will be open to those in our community who are/were 000 personnel, living with the symptoms of PTSD. Teaming with a local gym, "Fighting to live" w...ill consist of a 1 hr session, unique in delivery and format. Positive based focus, embracing forward projection and movement, all within a community setting. More information will be posted after the Easter weekend, for now, any thoughts or comments are much appreciated :) PS In time, sessions will be set down for anyone who is looking to make positive changes within their own life, however, will be dependent on interest generated. Cheers. See more

06.01.2022 So we are finally coming out the other side of lock down, and I cant help but wonder what the world will look like post restrictions. Like everyone, life has been put on hold, with three lots of flights cancelled, visiting with friends and family minimal and so much time spent watching home renovation shows, I actually now feel I could become an interior design specialist. What I have learnt though is how much isolation can impact on someone. I discovered how important human ...connection is in day to day life........I have learnt that I am someone who is blessed to be surrounded by people in my day to day life that either greets me or says goodbye with an embrace. Social distancing however has made this inappropriate. No matter how much sanitizer, disinfectant or crosses stuck on floors are provided, this new world feels awkward to me. There are those that have attempted to give the elbow tap, I have discovered that I'm not a fan lol. My hope is that as time passes and the risk is reduced, we can return to the touch of another in friendship, respect or love. Until that day comes, hand sanitizer and disinfectant it is. See more

05.01.2022 So spring has arrived, and like so many others I am happy to feel the warmth of the sun. However, with the warm weather comes the summer clothes that have been hibernating in my wardrobe, and they seem to have shrunk over the colder months. They still fit, just not the way they did before I put them away. It forces me to reflect on what it is that I have been doing in the lead up to spring, which in turn, makes me wish I hadn't done those things in the first place. I know the...re are many of you out there that know exactly what I'm talking about lol. So I did what many people do and rushed off to the gym. Spending that time inside a building with the air conditioning blaring, pedaling a bike that goes nowhere and doing squats until my legs hurt so bad they felt like they were on fire. All while being surrounded by mirrors that I'm sure were set up to remind me why I went there in the first place (as if the clothes weren't enough). While I'm not knocking the gym scene, it did occur to me that maybe I have missed the point of such a beautiful day. We all know that exercise, no matter how minimal has such benefits, not only for our physical well-being, but our mental and emotional well-being as well. Upon reflection, maybe taking a walk on the beach, or pathway would have been more enjoyable. Welcome to spring time everyone, remember to take the time to enjoy it. See more

02.01.2022 I wanted to share this beautiful piece of work, written by a man who I have been fortunate enough to know over a number of years now. A man who is not only strong enough to overcome adversity, but compassionate like no other. I am grateful for the opportunity to share.

02.01.2022 Play your music loud and sing like nobody can hear you. Not only is it an outburst of the soul, it helps clear the throat chakra. Releasing stagnant energy, and lifting our mood. Not only simple, but free

01.01.2022 I was reading an article a little while ago, it was about the art of giving up. I thought it was interesting given that I am not someone who gives up easily on anything. I've lived my life based on the words of 'Never give up', however I have discovered that maybe 'Never giving up' was actually creating more pain and more suffering in my life than I was aware. For me personally, the attitude of 'Never give up' has allowed me to get through life experiences that I needed to ge...t through, and for that I am grateful. However, looking back, it did impact my mental and emotional well-being in a negative way. I felt anger, frustration and hopelessness at times, I was unable to sleep and my physical body was suffering.I was exhausted from 'Never giving up', and yet, my personal belief always saw giving up as a failure. So, I have spent the last few months practicing giving up. I'm not talking about giving up all together, only on the things that are probably not going to change. Here's what I have learnt. 'Giving up' brings freedom, it brings peace and it allows for movement. Have I failed at anything? No, if anything, I have succeeded. I spend a lot of time around professionals, giving the words of wisdom 'Never give up' and I agree to a certain point. With that being said, we are also told, that if we want to live our best life we need to 'Let go'. So which one is it?. My answer, both, each has it's place, and when undertaken, not to our detriment, but to propelling us forward into contentment and peace, you have a healthy balance. See more
