20.01.2022 Who misses the nervous pee feeling? Maybe not specifically that feeling but the backstage, just about to walk on stage feelings of sweaty palms, insides shaking, heart pumping, nervous pee’s, excitement, energia, high vibes... the pre-comp, this is months of hard work finally about to be realised in 2 minutes or less feeling! It’s crazy how you can perform a routine to a mirror, a camera, your coach, a friend millions of times but getting in front of judges and audience... changes the feelings completely for you! What do you feel backstage before you’re about to walk on a stage?

14.01.2022 Some of our class descriptions have changed... The most important to note for all of our current students is that the fundamentals class has replaced our open level. Fundamentals by way of the dictionary meaning 'Relating to, or affecting the basis.... If you have never danced a particular style, the basics classes are where it's at for you. If you're someone who's ready to smash it! Someone who has dance goals they want to achieve and are ready to make a 12-week commitment, then Ultimate is for you. Keep in mind that we keep ultimate at even smaller numbers than our regular classes. This is so that we can ensure everyone gets the attention needed. Ultimate is privy to a few extra special things like discounted privates, studio hire and free socials. You do need to fill out an application form for ultimate as we want to make sure we as coaches are a good fit for you and you are a good fit for us. Show teams are the performance teams for fun. Simple as that!

03.01.2022 The beginning of an inclusive dream This photo was taken on the second last class of 2019. It was the first class that was apart of our dream of being an inclusive school. We opened our doors only 12 months earlier and although it may not be the biggest class getting about town, it's a special one because it showed us that what we wanted to create, could very well be the start of something special. I, Angela Fayth, the director of Energia Studios (which at that stage was... called Infinity Dance Company, wanted to create a school of leaders and followers. Not men and women and not even gay or lesbian. I dreamed of creating a space that held comfort in allowing each soul that walked into our doors, to either dance as a lead, or dance as a follow regardless of their gender, their sexual preferences or anything else for that matter. We completely changed our language to always state lead and follow. We changed our styling descriptions to strong and flowy, sharp and soft. Allowing people to dance what they felt suited them most. At our socials, people would ask if you would like to lead or follow or even switch when they started to dance. This has meant people have been turned off our school which is fabulous. We want the type of people who aren't looking at each other's clothes , skin, age, ability or gender to see if they want to dance with one another. Thank you to those of you who trusted me. 01.01.2022 Humans In-Studio from tomorrow, Monday 9th After today’s announcements we have a few more rules than we had hoped for. Unfortunately the density ruling of needing 8 sqm means we can only have 9 students per class as our boutique studio is 72 sqm. This means it’s super important to get your booking in ASAP, and also that if you do need to cancel, to do it as soon as you can so someone else can get a spot in class. It’s frustrating however on the bright side, at least we will get to see some if your faces in person now for our final term of 2020!
