In fact, when we try to multi-task, we decrease our productivity and efficiency so it actually takes us longer to finish things. Three ways to up your productivity and decrease the stress of tasks includes: ... 1 Turn off email notifications and only check email once an hour for 5 minutes. Anything urgent can be done then, everything else can go on the to do list. 2 Work on one project / task every hour. Dont let other projects creep in. Make a concerted effort in switching between projects by closing everything related to the last project before starting the next one. 3 Take a break. Every hour is ideal but if it needs to be every few hours to get up stretch your legs, go around the block. Get moving!! It will increase the flood flow to your brain and up your energy.
