22.01.2022 Flashback Friday on a Saturday. 1985 National Band Championships Melbourne. Nationals a little different this time around. Today we record our entry into the 2021 Festival of Bands (National Band Championships). A number of bands are recording today at Elder Hall supported by the South Australian Band Association. Each Bands video entry will be uploaded to the National Band Championships website and adjudicated over the Easter long weekend.

21.01.2022 On June 8th 1960 The Klemzig and District Junior Brass Band was formed. It all started with a chance conversation between Mr Morgan Goode and his milkman. Mr Goode mentioned that he had a lad that played cornet and would like to find a local Brass band to play in. The milkman suggested that Mr Jack Mitchell, who was then bandmaster of the S.A Women’s Brass Band might be able to help him out. Well as it turned out the S.A Women’s Brass Band was about to disband. So with donated instruments, a Bandmaster named Jack Mitchell and Bandmistress Mrs Jack Mitchell (Ellen (Nell)) 50 enthusiastic and eager local boys the Band was born. This year the current band was due to throw a party to celebrate however a certain Global Pandemic threw those immediate plans out the window, for now!!!!! In the meantime ‘Flashback Friday’s’.
21.01.2022 Flashback Friday. Can you pick the young face of someone who is still in the band today? Here’s a hint - He’s holding a Cornet rather awkwardly. Calling for your help again to identify these young people. And go!

16.01.2022 Friday flashback on a Saturday. It’s Adelaide Fringe time again and what a great time of the year is it. So here we flashback to 2010 when the Fringe mascot was ‘The Spaceman’. Enfield marched along in the opening parade joining in with the theme of Space and put on a couple of sold out shows. Such fun!

15.01.2022 Flashback Friday. This is where we need your help. This appears to be an old Committee photo from sometime in the late 70’s or early 80’s. I’m basing my assumption purely on the brown suit and Dick Gowers haircut. Let’s play name that person. It would be great to put names to all the faces for historical record keeping. Further Edit Here’s the update - Rear row left to right - Hurtle ...Weaver (Patron), Rosenboom, Barbara Benger, Tony Roling, Laurie Benger, Richard Gower, Alan Luders. Front row left to right - Nell Wilsdon, Lorraine Strain, Joe Trotta, Mayor Roy Amer, Brian Doherty, Beryl Doherty, Dick, Weidenhofer. Further more it appears Roy Donald Amer was Councillor, Alderman, Mayor of the City of Enfield from 1962 - 1965, 1968 - 1981, 1983 - 1993. See more

13.01.2022 Friday flashback on a Saturday. That time we hosted Launceston band for the Australian Nationals in 1986. Ironically the son of one of the cornet players later moved to Adelaide and joined Enfield. Can you guess who? Does anyone have any other photos they would like to share?
