18.01.2022 As 2020 draws to a close and we reflect on what can only be described as one of the most difficult and challenging years any of us have seen, we would like to thank our students, staff and community for the resilience, support and strength that has been shown. Let's use everything we have learnt this year to continue making EPS the place we all know and love. We hope everyone is having a well deserved break and enjoying time with loved ones. We all look forward to seeing our EPS family in 2021. Happy New Year!

14.01.2022 Early access gate (Black Gate) We have recently installed an additional entry gate with an access control system along Dernancourt Road near the OOSH container. This gate is to be used for parents dropping off and collecting their children at OOSH. Parents will be buzzed in by OOSH staff to provide secure access for students attending before school care.... As previously mentioned by Mrs Swift in the newsletter, please be advised that as of Monday, 16 November, the original Dernancourt Rd automatic gate will not open until supervision of the playground commences at 8.45am. Students who need to be at school early for particular activities such as French lessons, Dance, Code Club or an excursion will be provided with a code to use the early access black gate, when required. Please note, no student is to be on the school grounds prior to 8.45am unless attending OOSH or as arranged by a teacher. Thank you for your assistance in helping us keep all of our students safe and secure. Donna Dunlop

14.01.2022 Dear parents/carers, Today we have received notification of a confirmed case of chicken pox at school. The child is in Stage One and has been absent from school for two days. Please read the attached fact sheet so you are aware of symptoms to look for.... Please also note that if your child is diagnosed with chicken pox, he or she must be excluded from school for a period of 5 days from the onset of the rash and all the blisters have dried. Pregnant women should avoid contact with chicken pox and should see their doctor if they have been around someone with this illness. Children with immune deficiency should avoid anyone with chickenpox as the infection can be particularly severe.

02.01.2022 On 24 November 2020, police from the NSW Police Force Youth and Crime Prevention Command presented to 40 students from Engadine Public School as part of the NSW... Police Force Year 6 Transition Program. Sergeant Rod Silva, together with Senior Constables Adam Taylor, Katherine Dodd, Jayke Graham, and Mitchell Hatch presented to the students on a wide range of topics including Graffiti/vandalism, Bushfires, Cybercrime and online safety, and Bullying. A teacher from Engadine Public School said, "The presentations delivered by the police were extremely worthwhile, engaging and relevant to the children of this age group. The presentations were very informative and interactive with students being able to ask questions on a range of topics. I would definitely recommend this program for Year 6 students".
